Taxi to hotel from border. Request update
Been over 15 years since last visit to Tijuana. I'll be leaving rental car at border parking, then walking across. I imagine it might have changed a little, so I should ask you guys. Are taxis still there waiting for passengers? I use Uber (hopefully will be a good T-Mobile signal) as often as I can, but expect to be taking local taxis. Of course will make a visit to Hong Kong club. It was always $5 every time, whether to Zona Norte or to the frontera. The hotel I have always stayed at is just 1 block off of Revolucion, 1 mile south of Zona Norte (used to walk to and from, but expect that I'll only use taxis on this trip).
Thanks guys.
Intel on La Cueva del Peludo?
I guess I learn something new about the Tijuana clubs every day. Was messaging with a chica I've hooked up with a couple of times at HK and she's telling me she no longer works at HK, she now works at a club outside of Zona Norte called La Cueva del Peludo. I've never heard of the place but she tells me it's owned by the same folks who own the HK group of clubs. Anyone familiar with the club? Did a few minutes of googling and see a lot of dudes saying it's a bit cheaper but it can be dangerous, they only speak Spanish, and the chicas aren't as high-quality. But others, including Luke Powell, seem to like the club and recommend it as another option to check out. My Spanish isn't any good but still thinking about heading up there on my Tijuana trip next month just to check the place out?
Any thoughts about the place? I get the impression it's A Tropical / Las Chavelas-level of club. Personally love dive bars but a bar like that outside of the Zona Norte area I'm familiar with might be a touch outside my comfort zone, we'll see. I see it's on Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Blvd a little past the big Caliente casino and stadium, a bit past where Agua Caliente turns into Gustavo Diaz Ordaz. Within walking distance of the Nike factory store and a brewery that I sometimes frequent. It's a pretty nice area of Tijuana, though the club itself seems sketchy at a glance.
BorderParking Tues to Thurs rates are 50% less
BroMouzon,
Thanks much for your ideas. I have taken the trolley (after connecting from airport bus route), and I will use it again if my stay is shorter, but I am staying 2 nights.
From the trolley website sdmts.com Parking at any Trolley station is limited to 24 hours. Vehicles parked in excess of 24 hours may be ticketed and towed at the your expense. <<.
The border parking is $9 for 10 hours on Tues, Wed, Thurs, so not unreasonable at $36 total.
Have only a backpack, and enjoy walking on Revolucion, but after a 6 hour drive and arriving in the evening time, probably will enjoy a taxi or Uber.
