The same questions come up time after time. The long time thread squatters here get tired reading the same old requests and blame it on the poster for not doing their homework. Those who are tired of those same old questions are just as lazy for not putting energy into a community FAQ than those they accuse for not doing their homework.

Yes, posts get buried quickly around this place; it is a fact of life. New people to the thread will always materialize, looking for the same beginner kind of information. People got to get used to both ends, get grouchy, or get lost. Most here know the category they sit.

And by the way, paying the $20 still won't get you a fast path to the information you ask about. Lets be careful though not to diminish the good cause the money goes to which is to support the infrastructure for us to share the information related to this fine hobby.

So those coming here two hours before taking a plane wishing to have all their specific answers (and most of them already available pages before) are using ISG in the wrong way.

They might be some of those bothered to read 250 pages of a book and jump to the last 2 pages to know who the murderer is. Can do that, but there is no thrill anymore to build up your own opinion page after page.

I am taking about a fast path to the most often asked questions by nubies. It should be anchored at the top of this thread.

If you don't like calling it a FAQ, give it anaother name then. Fact is, there is little here to make things easy on the newcommer without trying to tell them to look all over hell and spend tons of hours finding answers. It is no secret the search capability here sucks. I myself have to do special things via google which works far better.

Can't be anchored with all the other surrounding popular questions in its own consolidated list at the top of the form. He lists well known brothels and massage parlors, gives addresses, prices typically paid, etc. He is a good model to emulate.

Most of the questions here are perfectly valid. However I believe there is such a thing as a bad question. Occasionally someone asks something so basic they show the person isn't willing to do any research at all.

I do see plenty of valid questions repeated every few months that aren't easy to google or RTFF for. One that keeps coming up is massage parlors near the airport. Another one is what places in Bangkok are open in the morning or afternoon. It would save a lot of people some time to give a FAQ for these.
