Cruiser D: Agreed that $50/day for taxis is way over. I simply miscalculated when figuring what I spend a day on taxis. Quite frankly, I really have little idea what I spend a day because I tend to spend a lot in clubs. And if I don't like a club or feel a vibe I don't stay long and move on.

Scoring: When telling war stories, let's at least agree that as Cruiser said, scoring = getting your dick wet. Getting telephone numbers is par for the course and nothing to feel all warm and fuzzy about.

I have to say, Kiev's just not the right town for pro action. In about a week I've been here, all my attempts to find pros were pretty pathetic. Strip clubs, the usual staple of my Moscow diet, absolutely suck, and pros from other sources are quite mediocre. RP is going down the drain, and everything else is even worse.

However picking up regular girls is just too fucking easy. I try to talk to them and charm them and whatever, and they all get confused and ask me if I'm going to ask them for their phone number or what.

I got back from Decadence a little while ago, and they had a birthday party event there for some Ukrainian celebrity. There were all sorts of local bands and singers performing on stage. The club was packed wall to wall, I've never seen people packed in so tight, it certainly broke every safety regulation in the book. While I hear Decadence is a pro hang-out, tonight I only spotted a few obvious skanks, while most of the girls were regular non-pros. I've never had such a phone-number-per-minute rate in my life. I got models, professional dancers, a future diplomat, you name it. Kiev fucking sucks on the weekdays, but it's out of this world on the weekends.

So anyway, my advice is, go out and be bold. The reason the pro circuit sucks in Kiev is because the freebies are so easy and plentiful.

Kiev is far easier for freebies than Odessa IMHO. The girls in Odessa are great fun but very mercenary. Kiev has far more variety of girls from your mercenary to your decent or even "village' type of girl. Lots of players of course but also lots of ordinary types.

As recent reports suggest, pulling on Kreschatyk is still achievable, even for old farts like myself.

the girls sitting around on khreshchatyk (please stop calling it "k street", it's pathetic) usually are looking for a date, sometimes in a semi-pro mode, deciding on the spot if they should ask for money or not. but i have to say i'm not the one for such an aggressive approach, especially anything including surprise anal. i guess to each his own. i treat even a $60 agency hooker with as much respect as any girl back in the states, and no one will ever convince me there's anything wrong with that approach. these girls lead shitty lives as it is, and i certainly don't want to be responsible for any additional mental scars.

the booths were by far the worst i've seen anywhere in my life: hard wooden benches, too wide to make it comfortable to lean back, and far enough from the table to make it really uncomfortable to lean forward.

however the girls were generally ok - nowhere near the moscow levels of quality, but there were a few cuties. almost nobody spoke english though, and one of the girls we liked even refused to come to the booth because of that, despite me speaking russian. we weren't looking to take anybody home that night, and were contempt with just walking away with some phone numbers.

so, if you speak some russian, and want to go off the beaten track, this could be a good choice.


[b]flower rhino[/b], also a left bank strip club, apparently recently renovated and considered by locals to be the best of the four rhinos.

the place was nice and big, comfy couches, good selection of girls. i liked this one petite energetic brunette, but inexplicably after some lap dances and sitting around our booth, she just stood up and walked away to chat with some other customers. that kind of killed my mojo. the place was really crowded, and the only girls left unengaged were not worth my time.

the drunken russian factor was very high. there was some moron trying to go down on a stripper right in the main room; some other fucko was falling all over himself and breaking beer glasses left and right, a group of younger men were spanking each other. disgusting, and very distracting. with all the antics around me i barely noticed naked girls.

this was, by the way, an official "no sex" policy club, like the spearmint rhino i wrote about earlier. and when we tried to ask a girl for her phone number, she said, oh, absolutely no way, i can't do that, i'll get fired. her nasty-looking manager was roaming the room giving everyone a heavy stare, so i'm sure the stripper wasn't lying.

so, in summary, if your goal is to bang a stripper or to have a good time, don't go to a rhino club. as a matter of fact, don't go to any rhinos period.

3rd time visitor to Kiev.
