South China - Guangzhou

Hi Guys.

Sorry to post here, but not sure what else to do.

Can anyone advise how I can book a ticket from Guangzhou east to hung hom in Hong Kong.

I have looked online, but the mt3 website says I need to collect tickets in Hong Kong which won't be practical as I am going the other way.

There does not seem to be a website from which I can make a booking whilst outside China. Currently in UK arranging trip.

My worry if I have to wait until in China is that the trains will be booked up as I am going back to HK during the canton fair.

I've spent a few hours trying to work this out online, but without joy.

Hopefully someone here has experience of this route and can shed some light for me.

There are a dozen trains daily and even during the Canton Trade fair, I've managed to get on with just a few hours advance purchase.

But if you must, then just contact your hotel and instruct them to pre-purchase your specified ticket.

Majority / most Guangzhou hotels regularly do this and will probably just charge you 5 or so yuan handling fee.

The Guangzhou to HK "straight through" train schedule hasn't increased in frequency in the last 13 years, so it's been getting progressively harder to get tickets as demand has increased. One solution is an option that is much more accessible in frequency as well as a bit cheaper, although a bit less convenient, because you need to walk across the border at Shenzhen along with the masses. But because the trains go much more frequently (about every 20 minutes as opposed to every 2 hours roughly (as with the straight-through option) it can often actually get you to HK quicker than the straight through option would have.

Here's how you do it: Buy a ticket to Shenzhen (I recommend the East Ticket Office -- accesible from a separate, little utilized entrance to the East Station around the side of the building. Just get the taxi to let you out before he drives into the station -- you don't want to go in; walk around the right side of the building (doesn't even look like you should be walking there! But you'll see the entrance sign in 30 seconds; it's very near. You can get to the ticket office before you even go through bag security. Tickets to SZ are 79 RMB or 99.5 for First Class -- nice seats, and even have power outlets to charge your laptop / device. About 1 hour and 15 minutes later, you'll pull into SZ station. Follow the masses and look for the signs that say Hong Kong. You need to go up one escalator at one point. Then it's just one line to leave China and another to enter HK. Once you're through you'll be at LoWu station and can use your Octopus card (or buy one or a Single Journey ticket) and walk down to the train (KCR) which will take you to Hung Hom for around 30 HKD (I'm guessing) And they also run very frequently -- I'm guessing about once every 5 minutes.

One point is that depending on the time of day, the crowds of school kids, parallel traders, mainland tourists etc can add 30 to 45 minutes to the time taken to get through China and Hong Kong Immigration points in SZ.

You are quite correct about the outside location of the ticket office. Good information. It is hard to find if you can't read Chinese as the English signs are often ambiguous or lack clarity. And night time the task more difficult. It seems that quite a lot of the newer stations (such as Guangzhou South) locate their ticket offices away from the main concourse and often on the outside of the building. The reason is most probably to reduce congestion at peak times.

BTW, I have passed many Guangzhou-HK through trains over the years, and they have always seemed to be at least 50% empty (or more).

I'd suggest heading over the road to WuYang Cun. Coming out of the metro station and turning left down the main road (I. E. Walking away from ZJNT) and towards the Vanguard supermarket, you'll see an LED sign on the side of a bakery pointing left. The massage joint is upstairs, third or fourth floor. Massage 128 rmb, tips 100 or 200 depending, apparently, on how attractive the ML considers herself!

If you want the shower, keep going past the supermarket and in to the Great Wall Hotel diagonally opposite. Go to the sauna on the fifth (seventh?) floor and negotiate according to your preference. Intel from another board says that FS comes in just over 500, though you can call ahead for a discount.

Has there been an increase in Police Raids recently?

The place where I usually find the SWs have been empty, with a lot of police / security gaurds (you can never tell) patrolling the area at night. It seems like the purpose is to scare off any SW in those areas.

The MPs that usually offer FS I frequent haven't been doing so either.

Just wondering if there were more raids. I thought this crackdown would blow over by 2015. When I first arrived in China a year ago, the locals told me everything will go back to normal soon. I've been seeing the opposite.

I was in Guangzhou last week for a few days. Many people around given the Fair. I was willing to try outcall service. And ended up being unsuccessful. Still, with trial and errors, and mailny errors, they are good things to learn.

1. The websites such as chinaidaily or craiglist: 100% fake pictures. When you ask them to send picture, they find billions of excuses.

2. Paradise Club which claims to be the only site to have real pictures (or let me correct: which simply claims all other websites have fake pictures), seemed also shaky as they refused to send me pictures; telling me "if I send you picture, how do you know it is a real one".

3. The hotel lobby was a nest of whales: fat and old girls.

4. The "guy with the cards" in front of the hotel, showed me pictures on his phone, but it was almost exclusively Russian and Columbian for 2000 RMB. Not what I was looking for.

5. I then turned to Wechat (google translate as I speak 0 chinese). I managed to connect with some girls. Long story short, here are my advices:

- they will lie until the last second on who they are. One of the told me "I am in the lobby waiting", I asked her to send me a picture of her waiting so that I knew who to look for; and she sent a fake one of a stunner waiting in a lobby. While she was an old fat lady. (I was already in the lobby pretending to work, so I could witness it all).

- never give your real room number (they tell you they will call you when they arrive at the hotel, but in fact, they try to directly go to your room, so that you cannot reject them).

- never give your real name (otherwise they will have the reception calling you).

- always ask for several pictures, including live ones. They all have a smartphone. How hard can it be to take a selfie. They ask you to send them a picture of your hotel key.

- needless to say, some are asking you to pay upfront (some kind of micro payment app). No idea how it works, but even if I did, No fucking way!

In my case, I finally found one which did not seem to cheat, but it was 3 am and I had to wake up early the next morning, so I just kept her for my next visits. All other attemps were failures.

Now, here is the key reason of this comment:

- During the whole time I stayed in the lobby to observe all those games, I saw many many many working girls coming. All of them were from nice-looking to stunners (2 of them were just top models). Always for "local" customers. You see who they are, as they arrive, go in a corner of the lobby, make a phone call. Then fe wminutes later, a guy comes down, look around with his phone. They see each other, and they walk to elevators without saying a word to each others.

My question is: WHERE THE HELL DO THEY FIND THEM? What am I missing? Is there a magic app for local stunners?

Probably met them at KTV. Generally Guangzhou KTV stocks the hottest girls, IMO, in dongguan. They are very expensive. I personally can't afford it. Plus you need to build a repore with these girls I've been told by a supplier who lives parttime in Guangzhou. Going prices start at 4500 for the incredibly hot girls. You can also get shorter but still hot girls between 1500-2500. These prices are pre-crack down prices. Not sure what it is now. I play elsewhere.

Most adds are in Chinese but you can sort it out.

Guangzhou is full of nice girls, problem is none speaks English and that's why are not available to foreigners.

When I was there 2 months ago I had a car with a local driver at my disposal. He was a young chines guys, he showed me on his phone he had contacts for over 400 girls on QQ. Most of them where available to "buy" - you can buy them for yourself from 1 day to 1 year There are many rich chines guys, buy a girl for 3-4 months. It's around $3000 a month. The girl has to move at his house and cannot leave the house alone. That way the guy gets her tested for STD first, then he can have 3 months of bareback sex.

An idea would be for people to start sharing here QQ numbers for girls if they have any. I delete all mine, but I will add after I go back in Guangzhou.
