I will be returning to Pattaya after a 2 year abscence. Could someone tell me the names of the main massage parlors on what I believe was North Road. Had a fantastic experience there last time.

Also any general info about the mongering scene there would be appreciated.

All 3 massage parlours are on Second Road. Sabaii Room beside Big C, Sabaii Land and Sabaii Dee opposite Big C. There is one more named Diamond Massage Parlour in Soi Diamond beside the Diamond Beach Hotel near Walking Street.

Ok, just a few curious things that happens yesterday. First I went to a massage parlour to have a thai massage for 200 Baht. I choose the best looking girl in that parlour. I've really never noticed any sign that they're 'dumb', at least no more so than anyone else. Nor that they think differently, nor that prices drop much in low season. Good looking ones can definitely do well with that strategy - of setting the price very high and waiting for the desperate guy. They'll usually get it eventually, and the price level will keep skyrocketing as it has for years.

The biggest factor behind this is the desperation of western men - we simply have no options. Secondarily the very small and constantly declining supply of cute girls.

I'd just like to point out that there is nothing stupid about these girls, in my experience. They're sharp as tacks business women, certainly by comparison to their opponents - we horny men.

Despite their education etc, they are very quick at counting money. But they are no economist to know the "Supply-Demand" theory. In fact this theory does not apply here. I think their MO is very simple; They make a plan for the day e.g 5000B+ according to their needs such as food, kids clothing, sick relatives etc... Less demand can mean a higher price because she would try to achieve her target for that day. The point is they are opportunist; whenever opportunity presents itself, she will just take it. Why not.

I was in Thailand a week ago for the first time so I have no basis for comparison. I wasn't overly impressed with the supply of girls in Soi Cowboy (Japanese seem to have captured this market because of their 3-3-3 MO), but there were many great looking girls in Pattaya.

Many guys I spoke with in Pattaya said there's many more (and beautiful) girls in High season than in Low season. So is Pattaya better in High season?

Absolutely. I mean who is ending up with the money. Who has guys sending funds from afar. Who is getting gifts. Who makes more money than most people in Thai society. I hate to break the news to some of you, but it's not the girls who are the dumb ones! They may not have a lot of school education but they have street smarts in spades. They also understand the market for pussy pretty well and understand where they fit into all that. It gets me back to the prior discussion about Beach Road girls who are asking for 500 baht. These girls are not naive about this or in the dark about pricing - this is where they think they are in the food chain of go-go girls, bar girls, night time freelancers and day time freelancers. Girls know exactly what the going prices are and have to judge where they fall within the price ladder. Some may err for a while by asking too much or too little but the economy always adjusts eventually.
