Actuall, we know very well, a younger armed man has killed another with a deadly weapon over a trivial matter. Sadly, a very common fact.
Hmm, there is no such thing like "assault with coffee".
Justice can be administered without the "Real scoop". The only question is how much prison the driver will serve, and that depends on a lot of factors that have little to do with the fact itself. But the excruciating details about the argument do not matter mich, and I agree with the principle. Per Thai law, the fact alone that he has confessed, automatically amounts to a penality reduction.
Stick to the stuff you know like LB ranting and being the Forum Nanny. If a LB threw coffee in your face that would be... Oh never mind, you're not worth it.
In all due respect PP, I've in the past have always felt you might have been the one that went to Jackson and got OTH banned? Lately and especially with this response putting him in the catagory with OTH, you really got to be kidding?
Anyone having the time to do research as to what OTH expressed could see that this guy couldn't carry a candle whether you agree with him or not he had much more to say if one would at least open their minds to listen instead of just be offended. OTH had what 2/3 thousand post this guy started as we all with (0) and it is the same old same old LOL posting.
Sorry but you got to be kidding?
LBM
I was a huge fan & defender of OTH. Fact is he got under people's skin. Harold gets to people too, but for different reasons.
OTH was taken seriously, but I doubt even Mr444 takes himself seriously.
OTH was too serious for & unhappy in & with Thailand, but H444 might just be silly enough to survive it, if he's ever even been there.
OTH was a scholar. 444 like the court jester & devil's advocate rolled into one.
In most ways the two are like day & night.
i'm sure many of us have had our arguments with thai taxi drivers but an american, who had lived there a couple of years should know that it is never a good idea to get physical with them. there are many kinds of taxi drivers, many might carry knifes or guns that can end your life very quickly. it is best just to choose a driver who seems reliable and if he tries to cheat just tell him and maybe get out if necessary and if he insists just give him 40-50 baht and look for another cab, there are thousands of them. some drivers look like they are on drugs so who knows what might happen if you [CodeWord140] them off. your life is worth a lot more than 50 baht or something.
i hope he at least has his license suspended. that will teach him not to kill tourists.
about 5 months back i was walking on soi 6 towards soi 4 and about 60 yards ahead i could see 2 elderly farangs and a thai gf have to rush across the street so that a taxi turning on to soi 6 did not hit them. one of the guys had words for the taxi driver. they continued to trade words as they walked towards me and the taxi slowed down to a crawl to keep abreast of the farang. my reaction was that trouble was brewing and the farang should just keep his mouth shut even if he was in the right. they pass me and 10 seconds later i hear a wretched scream from the gf and turn around and see that the taxi driver had snuck behind the farang (easily over 70 years) and smashed in his head with a tire iron. the farang lay crumpled on the sidewalk bleeding profusely and the driver scooted back into his taxi and drove away. this was done right in front of the sukhumvit grande where a bunch of taxi drivers wait for their suckers and they all gathered around the guy on the ground pointing fingers at him and taunting him as the gf was screaming. surprisingly they didn't kick a farang who was down and unconscious. i have seen that before. free kick time on farangs. it could be a popular tv show here. some times you get a scary disturbing peek into what so many thai's really think of us.

Kumbu Is Back!
I have indeed been out of the game for three long, grueling years, but I'm on my way back. Planning a nine-day trip for early August. Stay tuned for those long, drawn-out reports.
This definitely made my day.
Welcome back Kumbu. Looking forward to reading your (always most excellent) reports.

Don't know if this is the right place but does anyone have a clue how to reach money quickly from India to a guy stuck in BKK after losing all his debit / credit / forex cards. And no, the answer is not western union money transfer because while money can move from Thailand to India, vice versa is not possible.

What about FedEx?

Jokes aside, did he contact his embassy or consulate? If his family can bring some money to the Foreign Office at home, the local embassy can pass it on to him.

the thais, overall, seem to be pretty gentle and easygoing. they put up with an incredible amount of shit from foreign barbarians. but when you finally [CodeWord140] them off the violence is incredible. their penchant for kicking the shit out of some poor bastard who's already down is mystifying to westerners, imho. but i've seen them do it to farang as well as thai.
thailand is most definitely not the place to go around picking fights.

Do you know how many scams I've seen that followed the exact same script? On vacation, got robbed at gunpoint, have no credit cards, no money, no nothing. Need help, send money. Really?
If you have a credit card (AmEx, Visa) you can get it replaced within a matter of days by contacting the local office of said card. It's happened to a friend of mine, so I know it can be done. If one's passport is stolen, one contacts one's embassy and they'll assist in obtaining a replacement.
This whole story reeks of bullshit, no offense intended.
G'day mates.
Having problems trying to hook up with girls on TLL (Thai Love Links).
All of them just want to. Now we would obviously want to try several before we buy.
Any tips on the types of profiles to look for and what to say to bed them first and make up my mind over time?
Thanks Heaps
Do you really want to buy something is is easy to try? Easy come, easy go. Sounds like you only want to try. It far better to save that time to earn income, and visit a massage place instead.
