I am the same with tips. If the girl provides a basic service, I only pay the fee. The girls are all independent contractors so I pay the fee we agree on, but will only tip if they went above and beyond. So, if on Soi 6, she commits to providing me with BBBJ and CFS for 1000, and if she does that, I give her the 1000. If she is a starfish, I will pay that, as there was no agreement that she do anymore than provides the means for me to get off via said BJ or FS. The point is to pay a girl what you both agree to. Only pay more if she deserves more. And to buy a drink for a girl who has done nothing to earn it is not right. I speak Thai and 4 months ago I had a simple room for 35 days for B12000 including power and water. You just need to tolerate other than 5* quality. Usually just the two * - you could also get a cheap apartment for about B4500/ month. Spartan and not close to the beach.

Food was about 300/ day.

Since Day 1 was all about Sabai Dee and WS, moved on to Soi 6 in the afternoon.

Day 2:

Hopped around and settled at Horny Bar. Picked up a girl for 1000ST + 400 for the room.

I saw where some of the locals live and in some cases, it is not too bad. Most important is clean. The smell of sewer is something that I cannot put up with. Out of curiosity, how much were the girls or were you getting freebies?

Their drinks are more expensive, barfine is 2000 all night, however they can be the pickiest when it comes to getting barfined. They make 16,000 every 10 days off drinking alone. I've seen them hustle guys for tons of drinks only to reject them. If they sit with you and their model friends come around with the tequila shot trays and you don't buy any for them or their friends. Then "Good Luck" at getting them to go with you and having a memorable experience. Best time to catch them is after midnight -2 am. Let the models make their drink quotas first. Take it from me, I've barfined about 9 models from there, they are good at hustling!

I tipped 1000 baht to the guy managing the VIP section of Ibar and he always hooked me up with the best looking girls in the club at a very decent rate. Once couple of British men walked up to to me in Ibar and confessed they didn't know an Indian could spend so much.
