I am just back from Chiang Mai where I stayed a week.

First of all, I am very pleased with my choice of hotel: Suriwongse on Loi Kroh road, right in the middle of the action. I didn't have to walk more than 200 meters to get to foxy lady or the girly bars.

The hotel is certified guest friendly: I brought back my catch and didn't stop at the reception desk.

It is easy to get some action but it clearly a much tamer atmosphere than Bangkok or even Phuket.

First stop, the "entertainment complex" : some good looking girls and I had a good time. I tried to barfine a cutie but she asked for 3000 THB for short time. I said I was ok for 1500 but not more and she countered with 2000. I refused and left.

She undressed and had the body one would expect of a 40 odd year old woman who had a kid or kids. Got the deed over with, gave her the 1000 baht and paid the 350 baht massage fee outside. The whole deal lasted about 45 minutes.

There are no price lists displayed in any Chiang Mai soapy so-called massage parlours.

I have heard of customers being charged from 1200 baht up to 3000 baht according to the moods of the papasans and how gullible they think a customer is. On average you should expect to pay around the 1600 baht mark, but as I said; the prices can vary greatly. These prices are meant to be for 90 minutes but I have rarely heard of anyone receiving that amount of time.

Do not expect services to be anything close to what is available in Bangkok and Pattaya. Usually no massage involved, mechanical fast and furious service with plenty of tissues involved. If BJ offered at most times the girls will insist over a condom, no BBJ. Beware if the girl offers you a second condom for a second pop, as for a second pop you will be charged double the price you were first quoted.

I have read a few good reports and bad reports regarding the CM soapies, but it's very hit and miss. All depends on your expectations. The least you expect, the least disappointed you will be.
