Trip Report: PTY during Carnival
This is trip report from my recent visit to PTY from 2/20-2/24. Thank you to all you guys that had posted updated information, which helped me plan this trip.
Prelude:
This was my second trip to PTY. As a newbie to the hobby, my first trip last summer was to mainly "test the waters" at a time when I was going through a divorce. At that time, the trip was more of a vacation with a few chica experiences. As such, even though I read all the info on the boards, I made the same mistakes that most newbie’s make. On this visit, I was determined to be more "smart" about things. I am hoping to be able to take 5-6 short (4-5 day) trips each year to various destinations.
Unfortunately, it was only after finalizing my trip did I realize that it would be during carnival season and wasn’t sure what impact this would have in "supply/demand" and ultimately on prices. I contemplated postponing my trip, but I soooo needed a getaway, that I decided to go through with the trip. Going during carnival season has good and bad as you will read below.
Why Panama? Although not known for being a great mongering destination, the country is beautiful and PTY is a large metropolitan city, with English being spoken/understood widely. I wanted an opportunity to speak as much of my limited Spanish as I could, but having English to fall back on if I needed. Ultimately, I wanted to know how far my Spanish could carry me should I venture out to strictly Spanish speaking countries.
Travel Logistics:
Tocumen Airport (Panama’s International airport), is a really easy airport to navigate. Two pieces of advice: First, have a pen handy. You will need to fill out forms when getting down to immigration and for some reason, you can’t seem to find a pen at the airport when you need one. Second, you will need to get your tourist visa ($5) and fill out the immigration form as well as the customs form BEFORE you get to the immigration stands. There is a desk area at the bottom of the escalator to get the tourist visa and the immigration form (if the airline doesn’t supply these to you).
Taxi to the El Cangrejo area (where most of the action is and where Venetto is) should run you no more than $25 INCLUDING the $2. 65 in tolls for using the expressway (recommended). It can be lower depending on your negotiation skills. I followed the advice of a previous post of taking the escalator back up stairs after going through immigration and taking a taxi that is dropping someone off. I negotiated $20 and then as we were driving, he wanted me to pay extra to cover the tolls for using the "autopista" (expressway). I ended up giving him $25.
Know taxi rates! Most areas locally should run you $1-$2. A good strategy (especially if your Spanish is limited and don’t know your way around) is for you to offer $3. Most times, taxi drivers will accept it because it’s more than what they normally would get. If you ask "how much", that is already an indication to the diver that you are a newbie and they will ask for $5 or $10 to go a block. DON"T EVER get into a taxi without setting the price up front!
Lodging:
I stayed at the Las Vegas Suites (www.lasvegaspanama.com). I emailed them ahead of time to see what "special rates" they could offer me and ended up paying $60/night including taxes for a "studio" (their website says their lowest rate is $77). You can feel comfortable booking online and putting what ever special rate they give you into the "notes" section of the online submission form. The front desk folks speak English and are pretty cool. Hotel is chica friendly.
I would strongly recommend this place. It is just a few steps from the Venetto (see below) and you can easily walk to some of the other locations listed. There is a great Italian restaurant within Las Vegas. On my first visit, I stayed at the Venetto and quickly learned that you don’t need to pay double or triple the price just to sleep and fuck. So, wanting to be "smarter" this time so I can take more frequent trips, I decided to try Las Vegas. $180 a night (with taxes) at Venetto or $60 a night at Las Vegas? Easy decision.
The "studio" is like a large apartment with a television, mini fridge and microwave. They do have secure wireless Internet access in each of the rooms. Towels get changed, beds get made, and the room gets cleaned every day. There are safes in the rooms at no charge. They provide soap and toilet paper, but the rest of the toiletries, you need to have. The only negatives are that the hot water wasn’t very hot or with pressure and my room was noisy from the street, but not bad enough for me to ask for a different room. If you are a light sleeper, you may need to bring something to help you sleep. Also, would recommend something to play music, whether it is an alarm radio, or just your laptop with some CDs. I would stay here again without hesitancy.
My Rating Scale:
In a nutshell, I am attracted to the "girl next door" look with a nice ass and stomach and all natural (no silicone). So, my rating scale is based on this.
10’s: there are no "10s" on my rating scale (when I’m sober). This is a discussion for another time. 9’s: These are the "hot" chicks like you see on Victoria Secret’s and on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. You easily notice them out from across the room. 8’s: These are the "pretty" girls (minimal makeup) with nice bodies (all natural) including nice ass and breasts. You notice them when they walk by. 7’s: These are "attractive" girls (maybe a little bit more makeup) with a nice ass, but maybe lacking in breasts. I am an ass man, so a girl could be attractive, have a great ass, but very small breasts and still be a "7" on my scale. I am very generous with my "7" rating. These are the girls that are attractive when you start talking to them. You notice they may either have nice eyes, a nice smile, full lips, pretty hair etc. 6’s: These are the "not ugly" girls with a nice ass with or without nice breasts. These girls are doable (without alcohol) and I would have nothing to be ashamed about if anybody found out. 5’s or lower: I would never do sober, I would hope that no one ever found out and most likely I would just want a BJ.
Chica Venues: My original goal was to visit every venue I could, just to check it out. However, because it was carnival, some places were dead or closed.
[you]Venetto[/you]:
My, oh my! First night, the place was full of chicas that were available. You feel like a celebrity or a king when you can just walk around and have girls just smile at you with a "please pick me" look. The good news was that there were maybe about 50-70 chicas in the casino area by the bar of all shapes, sizes, and looks. The bad news was that they all started at $150 for 1 hour. Some would be willing to negotiate down to $100 but still for only 1 hour. Some didn’t budge from the $150. A few did offer to go for $80. Good time to visit Venetto is between 7-10pm and then later in the night if you haven’t hooked up elsewhere. Also, I think that the Venetto management sometimes restricts the number of girls into the casino b/c it seemed to alternate each night as to the number available from 50-70 on one night and then only a dozen or so another other night. I would think that the reason for this was that since the hotel and casino is geared for families, they couldn’t just allow working chicas and potential clients to over run the place. So, you may find on one night the number of chicas to be few and on another night, to be many.
[you]Habano’s[/you]:
My, oh my again! This is the little cigar bar, across from the Mariott and walking distance from the Veneto. See above for the Venetto, including the pricing. Good time to visit between 9- 11pm. No cover but not open on Sundays.
[you]Bodequita[/you]:
My, oh my third time! This is a late hours hang out joint. It is walking distance from the above, but it is a long walk. Unless you know here you are going, it may best to take a taxi ($1-$2). $5 cover includes a drink. Plays music, is dark and loud. I don’t think it’s open on Sundays. The pricing was still the same for chicas as above, although if it is late into the night, the chicas may be more open to negotiating. Good place to go around 12am-onwards.
Other posters have referred to a "circuit" for the chicas. You will see the same faces in all three of the above places. Chicas may start at either Habanos or Venetto and then end up at Bodequita, until they hookup or go home empty handed.
[you]Cristal Moon, Elite, Le Palace[/you]:
All the strip clubs were dead due to carnival. I went to Cristal moon b/c an early post said there was a great girl on girl show, but I didn’t see anything interesting. Cover was $30 for all you can drink, so I drank all I could. I went to Elite. Paid $25 cover no drinks included. Again, the club was somewhat dead and really no hot girls. I went to Le Palace near closing time (around 4am) to see if I could pull something out without having to pay the house fee. The entrance was free, but was quoted $300 without the house fee! No thanks. There was too much silicone in Le Place to interest me.
[you]La Mayor/Boca Torena[/you]:
I wanted to go to these two joints after reading some earlier posts, but La Mayor was closed for carnival. Boca Torena is right next to La Mayor and reminds me of a border town place. There was only 1 girl that caught my attention, the rest weren’t my type, but again, I don’t know what effect that it being carnival had on quality. I would strongly recommend that you have a trusted taxi driver come inside and have a beer with you if you visit either of these two places b/c they aren’t in the best places of town. Entrance was free and beers cost $2-$3.
[you]Capri (Rio Abajo area): [/you]
Actually, a very nice strip club with onsite rooms. Apparently this club caters more to the locals. There were some cuties with the "girl next door" look and more "natural" than Le Palace. Night time shift begins around $7pm. $3 entrance and beers run about $3-$4. I think it was $42 for 25 minutes. Didn’t partake, but would go back when visiting PTY again. (This is not the same "Capri" as above Oasis near the Veneto).
[you]Club Miami[/you]:
Again, dead with low quality. I didn’t stay very long. No entrance fee, but beers were $9! I went with a taxi driver and I’m sure there is some sort of kickback. Strip club that actually have girls dancing, which is somewhat a rarity from the other clubs. There are rooms onsite and I believe that it was around $90 for 1 hour, all –inclusive. In my previous visit to PTY, I really enjoyed Miami Club, but I think the carnival festivities may have taken away some of the quality (and it was a Monday).
[you]Massage Parlors[/you]:
This really isn’t my thing since I like to build up a rapport with the girl. I did call a few from the phone book (same ones listed on various posts) and the rates seemed to be the same. I did walk into Oaisis (near the Venetto), but the quality wasn’t all that and the enthusiasm was much less. As a note though, I did look at some of the rooms and there are rooms with beds (instead of massage tables) and they seemed to be nice.
[you]Street Scene[/you]:
Street scene was mostly dead. I don’t know if the police cleaned up the streets for carnival.
Other Activities:
I visited Vera Cruz on a Sunday. It is an area of restaurants along the beach just across the Bridge of Americas, about a 20-30 minute ride from the Veneto area ($5-$7 taxi ride). In an earlier post, it was indicated that this was an area where locals go on a Sunday. On this particular day (again maybe b/c of carnival), there wasn’t a lot of cuties. Still, it was a nice place to sit by the water, have a beer and good food. There are several restaurants along this area, some look better than others. Have the taxi driver keep driving along the "strip" until you find a place that suits you. Also, you may consider having the driver wait for you since getting a taxi back may be some what difficult (although not impossible). Although the beach area had some debris, the water looked clean enough that I would have gone in if I had my swim shorts. Several of the locals were playing in the water and didn’t seem to worry about the quality of the water. Another option is Santa Clara beach about 1. 5 hrs away, but I didn’t go.
I went to two malls and hung out one afternoon. The Multiplaza is more "upscale" and a little further away and the Multicentro is closer. I just went to people watch and yes, there were some cuties in both malls.
Miscellaneous:
Police shakedown is a nuisance, so have your tourista visa and a copy of your passport with you at all times. The police are looking to make an extra few bucks by shaking you down. I was stopped and asked for my visa, which I had on me and gave to the police, but he still tried to find something wrong with it. I speak enough Spanish to let him know that my visa is correct and that I am willing to go to immigration right now (4am) with him if he wanted. He let me go.
Overall, I felt safe in PTY, even at 4am and walking to some of the aforementioned places. Just be smart about it.
A trusted taxi driver who speaks English is a good asset. I would recommend "Tony", who is normally in front of the Ventto. Be careful when asking for "Tony" though b/c it seems that every taxi driver in front of the Venetto is named "Tony". The cell phone of the Tony I’m referring to is: 650 736 21. He will try to get his money for his time, but he is less abrasive than others. Again, negotiate before you get in with him. I have used him on both my trips to PTY.
Summary:
Going to PTY at carnival has both good and bad. I would venture to say that there were more "semi-pros" and freelancers available, some coming in from various parts of Panama just for the event and trying to make a few bucks. However, the prices caught me off guard. I’m not sure if it was just because of "supply-demand" or if this was just the norm in PTY now. Also, the clock watching was annoying. Lastly, some were willing to do BBJs, but others were absolutely only CBJs. One offered anal. There were so many Colombianas in PTY from all parts of Colombia. However, they also seemed to be more about the business ($$). I particularly liked the Panamanian chicas who seemed to care more about providing good service. I practiced enough of my Spanish to venture into Colombia next.
Next on the itinerary. Cartagena!

Trip Report on PTY - Venetto
I arrived in PTY yesterday morning from San Jose, Costa Rica and had my business completed by 7 PM. Prior to my trip I determined from ISG members that two of the better venues were Venetto and Habano’s for my specific desires. I am staying at the Marriott, so I knew both were within walking distance. Actually, Habano’s is within crawling distance.
Venetto
I arrived around 8:30 PM and found a number of girls had already arrived, I would say they were between 6-8 on the standard scale. Since it was early, I decided to have a drink over by the Sports Betting area and observed who was presenting themselves. There must have been 30-40 girls in the casino area at this time. Suddenly a pure 9 sat about thirty feet from me - no doubt the best looking girl in the casino - with dark hair, about 5’8” with a fabulous rack. I watched as 2-3 guys approached her and also watched as they departed. After watching this for about 30 minutes, I smiled at her when she looked my way. I then patted the table to indicate she should join me. We exchanged the normal pleasantries, and I found her name is Jacqueline; she was 23, from Costa Rice (San Jose where I just came from). She had a great smile, carried on an above average conversation, and was pretty fun to be with, I bought her a drink, and we sat and talked for about another 30 minutes.
I am a very average 50+ guy, but I am able to carry on a decent conversation. I have found that goes a very long way with women, especially if you show them that you are interested in them as a person – not just their merchandise. She told me she was only in PTY for a short period of time as she worked in one of the strip club in San Jose – I can’t remember which one. She also shared with me that someone in San Jose is building a new club where she intends to work when she returned - again I don’t recall the name. She finally got around to asking where I was staying, and asked if I would like some company. My negotiation skills are OK, and I am certainly not a Tom Cruise look-a-like. Like I said before I am average 50+ guy. The reason I bring this up is because the next question to her was, “How much”? The reply was $300. Rather than just blow her off for such a ridiculous starting point I have found that “respectful humor” works much better. My reply was with a smile, “For how many days?” She smiled back and after about 5-10 minutes more, we settled on $100 for one pop. Before leaving I made sure we defined all that would be included: BBBJ? (CBJ only), DATY? – yes, multiple positions ?(all except anal), etc. Again with humor I asked if it took three hours for the “pop” would she be OK with that?
I had considered going through the Casino and going the back way to my room to avoid the walk through the lobby. On the two block walk from the Venetto to the Marriott we discussed this and she said they would probably just ask for her ID and want to note it – which she didn’t have a problem with. We walked directly through the front door, and not a word from any of the staff other than “Good Evening”.
Once in my room, she reveled that her rack was 100% natural, and her figure was better than I had imagined. Pussy was clean shaven, and no tattoos. Before me was a woman who was a 9 in every respect. Simple caressing lead the menu of items. I am a believer that you should get them hot if you really want good service, so we started with about 10-15 minutes of DATY, which lead to my CBJ. I am not a big fan of CBJ – and this was really no different than my other CBJ experiences. We are now 30 minutes into the action, and I have the distinct feeling that she would like to move on to the main act. Needless to say we started the main act, then went back to more DATY and CBJ in between the various positions. About 35 minutes later I could hold it no longer and blew my load. Overall, Jacqueline was OK. I wouldn’t probably repeat, because I like the variety.
My summary is that if you can't find talent at Venetto - there is something wrong with you. The selection is pretty fantistic, and you will of course have various outcomes - depending on what you invest. The take away here is that NEVER pay the opening asking price, but pay what you feel the girl is worth. You can always give her an extra tip as she leaves if you get outstanding service.
Another report on HABANO’S will follow as this has gotten way to long.
WOODMAN
Last minute PTY info, please!
I'm headed to PTY this Thursday for 5 days. I've done a ton of research thus far and have a few lingering questions:
- What day of the week is Habano's closed? I think I remember it was some obscure day in the middle of the week, right?
- When (time) does Golden Times close and what days are they closed, if any?
- I read about an escort site on another board that seemed to be highly recommended: www.elcomplaciente.com. Has anyone had any experiences (positive or negative) with them that they can offer? The pics look phenomenal and all reports are that they are real photos of some great performers.
- Are there any actual brothels/casas in PTY? Something along the lines of a home where the girls are a little more refined, maybe pool tables, couches, TVs, possibly food being served. Looking for something beyond the drive by drink, look and fuck--something that offers a more casual, almost non-pro experience.
- Are there any hangouts (like bowling, skating, pool halls, etc), outside of Calle Uruguay where there is a large concentration of non-pro/semi-pro girls that hang out (besides the mall) in a social setting?
- Are there any gyms in the el Cangrejo, Banking District area that one might find some of the more fit ladies?
- Where is the closest movie theater to the Veneto Casino?
- Where is the best and closest beach to Panama city and how long would it take to get there (distance and time)?
I think that's it! Thanks in advance.
