sounds cool. i'll definitely try the tram route and report back. by the way, how much more is the business class and what do you do on the train to kill time? read a book? if i take a book i would hate having to carry it around in tj.

There are several hotels within easy walking distance of the trolley stop on E Street in Chula Vista. If you are looking for a place to crash overnight before resuming your journey to points north, it's an ideal spot. If you're in the mood for a late night bite there is a Denny's that's open 24 hours. And if you prefer to eat in the morning, the breakfast at Aunt Emma's cannot be beat.

chicago club - was almost empty both afternoon and eve; few girls and fewer customers

adelita bar - looks like usual, except customers seem more 'gang' type than before; a mexican gangster was taking one corner with mariachis and his girlfriends, it was obvious he had a pistol and some friends with him; i guess some gringos have decided not to be going south lately

on avenida revolucion - very quiet all day; few tourists, bad business; no visible patrols by police or military

walking back at night - mexican police car was waiting at the linea sentri taxi drop off, but the 5 officers were busy eating so no 'stop, search and steal'; on the US side, passport checkers were asking very rude questions, even to obvious american citizens. their computers know your whole life.

If you are treated badly when returning to your country, ask for and complete a complaint for in front of the officer. Don't be an asshole, just do it. Later, when he's yuking it up with the boys, he'll have something else to think about sitting in his folder.

Remember: these guys feellike God with their badge and gun sitting on the rim of Ameica deciding when to be a prick and when not to be. It's a hell of a power trip.

That's why God made complaint forms. Just do it. It only takes a minute and you get lots of milage out of watching the jerk as you do it. Make sure you get a copy and MAKE SURE YOU DEMAND A RESPONSE IN WRITING.

Thanks CJ. I wish I knew about the complaint form a year ago. It was 3am and nobody in line. The guy was a real jerk. No matter what I did he was beyond rude; he was downright abusive. Luckily I figured our right away this guy had an ax to grind; and I was the lucky one to be the brunt of his discontent.
I knew all he could do was to be was mean. You know – sticks and stones. So I resorted to “kill him with kindness”. No matter what I “did wrong”, whether it was getting in the wrong isle, not pulling out my ID fast enough, or taking back my ID abruptly; I was overly polite and apologetic. Sarcastic but not blatant sarcasm, enough to let him know my literal words meant just the opposite. When he finally let me pass, I thanked him profusely for his thoroughness and professionalism, which made him even madder. This brought a chuckle from a couple of agents who were working the bag scanners and had witnessed the whole encounter.
If this happens again, I’ll kill him with kindness again; then take the complaint form route as suggested.

What are your favorite shift to hit up in the Zona. I was really enjoying the night shift, but made a daytime run not long ago and was really into the selection. If I am going to Tijuana strictly to visit the zona, I always went during the night. If I was coming back from Ensenada or something I can always talk myself into lunch on Cohuila.

While I have not come with any good reasons for preferring the evening, other than the fact that they are open all night, I would be interested to see what everyone else has to say.

I am strictly a day man now. I used to go down at night and stay late until the next morning. Now I like day shift, starting around 11am and leaving in the afternoon, before 5pm. I know most of the girls and get no hassles. Plus, you can see the girls better in the daylight. Plus, prices tend to be lower because days can be really slow for them. Some day girls get only a few customers before going home so they appreciate the money you are spending. At night things can become a meat market where girls want you in the room and out as soon as possible.


On the other hand, day shift can be quite boring because you do not have all of the action you do at night. You can be the only one sitting in a bar on some Wednesdays!

last, you are RELATIVELY safer during the day. Key word is relative, because most of you are never safe in TJ.

I go during the day about 90% of the time and find it to be much better overall. plus im still in my OWN bed at a reasonable hour.

No, but thanks for a good idea of where to go on Super Bowel Sunday. There is the sports betting place on Revo. It’s a good place to lay a few bucks down on the game and probably watch it, but not good for laying down a few chicas. If anyone finds a place in La Zona where the game is being shown, I’ll see you there.

AB will probably have it. They're definitely equipped for it with all the flat screens all over the place. But the only televised events I've seen there are the De La Hoya fights. But only when Oscar was fighting and not the previous fights. And between rounds they would cut back to the music.

Has anyone gotten into mexico with their birth certificate recently I went to Nogales about 3 months ago with my birth certificate and an id. But I think I saw on a website you can still use the certificate until June 2009. Please let me know if the certificate is still acceptable?
