Sorry to hear you got screwed by Toyota. I had a few Mexican friends working for Japanese maquiladoras on the mesa East of Tijuana.

I visited one, standing at the gate at the Panasonic telephone assembly plant, an afternoon at 3 PM shift change. Thousands of women and girls were walking out. The friend is the general manager, a real nice guy. He said, if I see anyone attractive, he would match me up. Well, the girls were almost all chunky in the 200-pounder caliber hehehe. I looked hard but could not do it.

I met female engineers at the Sony plant, very classy beautiful English-speaking girls from CDMX. They were chafing at the rough life in East Tijuana but needed the jobs. When TV technology went away from big and bulky optical projection system to full electronic Plasma, LCD, LED ect, there were no need for assembly labor content. SONY, Sharp, Mitsubishi ect all ceased operation in Tijuana. Had no idea where my engineer sweetheart went. She would have been a very good, fun, classy GF, potentially good wifey.

SONY's management team of about 12 people lived in San Diego, driven to work in Tijuana everyday. A whole van full of Japanese managers was kidnapped by the cartel for ransom. I remembered SONY paid then hired armed security guards to escort workers back and forth from San Diego. Damn.

Looks like Chinese EV companies will set up operations in Mexico for North, Central and South America markets. Hope you will make it big in that business.

So if people aren't in the country illegally why would they be deported? I mean do you really think I'm like most Americans that doesn't know anything about Mexico? So why do tourists have to fill out the FMM when entering Mexico? You say your laws are so good that employers don't hire foreign workers why would you need to have any rules for those entering your country? Also you claim that Mexico isn't racist but yet the Venezuelans I know have to bribe your immigration officers to enter the country, I even had to sneak one into Mexico because it's the only way they could enter. Not to mention the time before Trump when I'd travel to different cities in Mexico and when I'd fly back the INM officers where asking people for IDs before boarding the plane except me. I guess they are also racist or when the INM officers in Tijuana airport pulled off the 15 to 20 Chinese people that arrived on my plane.

I almost forgot that the same person I had to sneak into Mexico was also arrested and put in jail in Mexico so again you might want to learn more about what your country does or doesn't do. And I've know plenty of people that have been caught in the country illegally and they are usually released since most police don't get involved with a persons immigration status. They only have more of a problem and go to jail if they broke a law.

So like I keep saying you should study the facts more before you stereotype a group and many so called MAGA would agree with how Mexico handles immigration going after the businesses more but the truth is that both parties that have run this country for the last 50 years have worked together to not do anything to make laws against those companies because they pay them off. The US is so messed up that we can't even make it a law for requiring an ID to vote like they do in Mexico so your way of thinking might be considered more MAGA than you'd like to admit.[/QUOTE]Thank you for the most reasonable and logical post so far. I think it should be pointed out that ICE wouldn't have to do "raids" in CA if we didn't have the sanctuary city nonsense. If LA, for instance, would just hand over the criminals to ICE after they serve their sentence, ICE wouldn't have to go into neighborhoods looking for them.

Right before the [URL]dot.com[/URL] bubble the buzz word reverberating everywhere was "outsourcing" it was in fashion sending jobs overseas. Everyone, Politicians, execs, middle managers, had their tails up with this craze. I can tell you, American communities, yes communities left the Silicon Valley area when the bubble happened. Not only jobs were sent away, the entire tech industry melted off. What happened after that was, completely abusing the H1 b visa, in hiring Engineers from China and India. I can say some of these hires were extremely smart people, however the majority were average, willing to work for dirt cheap. This essentially closed away tech jobs, making them unreachable for US citizens. Now, it is not only Engineering jobs in high tech, but also administrative, HR, Legal, tech support, project management, product management, Field application, Team leads, team managers, high lever managers and even CEO's are Chinese and Indians. Essentially the US American citizen is purged away. They said they wanted competitive people, what they really meant was they wanted people that were willing to work for cheap, no matter how it hurts Americans.

Vicks VaporRub is the quintessential example where slabs of it are lathered on for any and every ailment because Mexicans generally accept it as a cure all with zero basis in fact.

I actually graduated as an electronics engineer and my first job was as an engineer for Panasonic at their TV's factory, back then I didn't needed to look for girls at HK, the factory had over 2,000 workers, most of them women, like you said the great mayority were chunky and not worth my time, but in a population that large you're going to find a diamond in the rough, and I did several times, about 1 to 2% were smoking hot, that's about 40 girls, and since I was in a position of authority and made good money compared to them, well, you know how it goes.

I worked at Panasonic right up to the time when all of the electronics factories started going to China, that's when I got hired by Toyota, making cars wasn't my thing, the production line was now full of men, the ugly women working there acted like they were god's gift to men, and most of them worked for HR, that's when I started going to Chicago and Adelitas (year 2003) HK still was a hole in the wall.

I'd like to visit HK with my friend but my friend said he is not coming because he is concerned that when coming back to the usa they won't let us in.

Is it as easy to get back in as it was 5 years ago? Or things have become more difficult?

When I went 5 years ago the encounter went something like this.

"why did you go to mexico?

"do you go often?

"did you bring anything with you?

We were born outside the usa but we are both citizens through naturalization. Are they going to make us unlock our phones and look at our data? Are they going to detain us for hours until our citizenship is confirmed? Are they going to look at our social media (I don't have social media so I don't care?

I really miss the touch of a woman and I don't know what to do. I don't want to visit a massage place because I probably wouldn't enjoy the experience since the whole time I would be thinking that we are about to get raided any minute now. I don't want to date a real woman because I live in southern California and the women here have nasty attitudes.

I was there in April of this year with a lady friend. Also traveling with us was another guy friend. He's originally from India and looks the part, but doesn't "dress" the part. He too is naturalized. I've traveled with him to Tijuana on many occasions. He's never had a problem crossing in either direction. Never asked to examine our phones, only asked the basic question that you outlined.

And they cannot deny entry to citizens. Hispanic or otherwise.

Looking at phones is very rare, regardless of what you read. They can, sure. But that takes time, so they're not going to do it just for the hell of it. They'll usually have a reason. Top tip. Don't keep any dirty pix or incendiary political tweets on the phone and you'll be fine. I have crossed countless times in 25 years, by foot and by car, and they have never asked to see my phone. I've been sent to secondary a few times when crossing by car. They just check the car for drugs or hidden compartments and send you on your way.

They will not detain you to verify citizenship if you have a US passport, unless they have a reason to suspect that it's forged. Is it?

Frankly, you're overthinking this. A lot. A naturalized citizen is a citizen. The exception is that if you somehow used fraudulent information to gain citizenship. Then you could be on thin ice. Otherwise, stop worrying. And leave your friend at home.

About 100 thousand people cross the SY border daily and a very very very large majority are Mexicans going to work or school and I would be happy to bet you that of that a very large majority don't look white.

I remember awhile back seeing a story about a white looking guy from Europe being detained because he wasn't supposed to leave the US but he did, so he was detained. The only thing that has changed is if you have a green card and you had some type of issue with the law they are being stricter with allowing you back in. It's doesn't matter what you look like.

It's doesn't matter what you look like.[/QUOTE]Oh you must be white, that's why your experience is different, most of the people being deported or harassed by CBP and ICE are brown and hispanic, but I am pretty sure you're not part of that minority so you haven't seen it personally, or seen your friends being targeted just because the way they look.

I am one of those mexicans who cross the border by the way, and every single one of my friends and neighbors have a story about a bad experience they had crossing the border, from being told demeaning comments from customs officers to triger them, to being sent to secundary, taken to a room, striped naked under some stupid excuse.

Don't come here and say that I don't know what I am talking about, I've been crossing the border since I was 3 years old because I have friends and family on both sides, you just cross to get your pipes cleaned and sudenly your are an expert? You fool.
