There are almost 100,000 sex workers in this country of 10 million.
The Center for Integral Orientation and Investigation, a non-governmental organization for sexual and reproductive health in the Dominican Republic, estimates there are almost 100,000 sex workers in this country of 10 million. Source-https://cronkite.asu.edu/buffett/dr/sex_trade.html.
Combined population of Puerto Plata and Sosua is about 360,000 with about 180,000 females. I remember from somewhere approximate amount of chicas in Sosua is about 2,000 which makes it roughly 1. 2%. You have to considering rotation, age groups and add many chicas from all over DR. My guesstimate could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that your 'small town and my guess would be 100% at one time or another' is an overestimation.
We're on the same page.
But I don't know where you got the 95-99% from.
I find it hard to believe that 95% of 18-25 year olds in DR have never done P4P. I stayed in one small town and my guess would be 100% at one time or another, at least the good looking ones.
(There's a thriving local P4 P scene not always involving Sosua, BC, or foreigners).
Any current intel on this?
I heard on the news, up here in USA; that the Haitians are getting the "bums rush", any word down there? Supposed to be out by morning. Gezzz. Kinda cold blooded.
I'm on the ground next week. Was wondering if anyone is seeing any Haitiana round-ups? Has their imminent deportation started to change the pricing dynamic at all?
TIA.
