I just discovered this site a few days ago and have done some reading. I am posting on this thread because it seems like the most popular one.
So let me get to it. As a Dominican living in the USA and who likes to sport fuck. I am tired of how things always change when I go to the DR. I am talking about the girls. They are getting more demanding, asking for more money but doing less.

It's you guys, well not all of you but the guys who go to the DR and go to a girl and ask her how much and when they tell you 1500-1700 you don't negotiate, and pay the price they ask. Guys the DR is not and I repeat its not America. In the DR you can negotiate price everything (except for Foods and drinks) and you aren't doing it. Not only that but you still give them what they ask for when they don't even do shit in bed.
You know how awesome it was when girls were asking for 500+200 for room comes out for 700 pesos. Yeah 700 pesos now I need to waste my time bringing the price down because men are not only not asking for less but are also giving them gifts and over tipping. If the girl was good and did everything you wanted you tip her 200 if she was bad you don't tip her and when she asks you donde esta mi propina. You tell her if she wanted propina why did she lay down like a dead body and don't repeat.
The gifts though why why are you giving this girls dresses and stuff. You want to give gifts to a puta fine but at least make her your fuckbuddy / fwb talk to her tell her you want her to keep you company when you come back but only as long as she does what she does. If you go that route don't accept any excuses like "oh my mom is sick so I need to leave earlier" "oh my son is alone and I need to take care of him" no that's her getting her gifts that you brought her and bolting out of there because she already got what she came for and she is going to go fuck other johns. I have only gone to Sosua once. But here is my advice for you. You have the money. That means you get to choose what you do with it don't worry if one girl says no. Last advice. Befriend a guy who has a car. That way when you go to the DR and need somebody to get you from the airport you just call him and tell him when you are arriving. It's cheaper and you have someone to show you around. Don't be an ass and buy him a girl at least once during your trip. Also do not, do not pay in dollars always pay in pesos.

I actually don't dislike anything about living here and the food is the same for me since I my wife is Dominican.
See the thing is that no matter what you do they will know / suspect you are a traveler. It all goes on what you wear. Like I said negotiate at the end they want to make a quick buck. There are places that have been "untouched" by tourism tho you do see in some of them a couple of tourists but mostly older guys. The ones who know how bad things are getting.
Also for you guys hating. Let me clear things up ask anybody how the scene was before compare to now. Most of us now are looking into new turf like Cuba. Most of us don't want to sit on a plane for 17+ hours.
In the next couple of years things will either be better or worse. If we are able to travel to Cuba like how we travel to DR then that will take some weight off of DR now how will that affect the working girls. It can go both ways either they lower their price or keep on asking for more.

If normal rain it need not affect your trip. You cannot be fucking 24/7 so there will ample hours when it is not raining and everything carries on as usual. Thing about Dominican rain at that time of the year is, it is not cold. You can walk about in it and as soon as the sun comes out your clothes will dry off.
For how long are you visiting? There are (on average) about three tropical storms a year. These can last from two to four days. If you are just coming for a few days and you were unlucky enough to catch one of these it could cramp your style. If you are here for ten days or more it will just be acceptable downtime. And if you have found reliable chicas beforehand there need be no downtime. Cuddling up with a hot haitiana while the storm is raging outside comprises some of my fondest memories. One was glad to give me three days for my initial 1000 pesos TLN at no extra cost except for feeding her. No way she wanted to go home in the storm to her (probably flooded) hovel.
Another strategy if a serious storm is imminent is to book into Blackbeards or Field of Dreams where everything you need is on site.

There are direct flights from SDQ and there are no restrictions as for US citizens. So how does this affect what Dominicans pay prostitutes in the DR, if at all?
Anyway, I think you are just getting local rates in the DR whether you realize it or not, and good luck to you, but if all the foreigners were only willing to pay no more than local rates, the DR sex industry would fade away. It is not entirely a coincidence that Sosua is the main focus of the sex industry in the DR, being a city founded after World War II by Jewish émigré refugees, (hence somewhat out of the sphere of influence of the Catholic church,) and in the north coast area with the greatest concentration of expatriate European residents in the DR, with numerous condo developments, schools, and such like.

We will be there for five days only and oh yeah LOL, I remember the rain and how it was still hot out while it raining. We will be there the first week of Oct. I'm hoping we don't get hit by a storm going or coming. This was the only time I could squeeze in with him on the same dates. I figure we will still have a good time either way like you said. I kinda miss the DR anyway, that's why when we couldn't go to the Philippines (where I wanted to go) I figured I'd go ahead and roll with him. It's been since 2009 the last time I was there.
