Plenty of Japanese oriented joints, big cost for Japanese type service. IMHO : to be avoided. My two cents.

You can also find these bars on Le Thanh Ton, Which is parallel to Ly Tu Trong. Starts at Ton Duc Thang and head down toward Ben Thanh Market. Most of them will be located on your left hand side.

The street you must be thinking of is Ngo Van Nam. It's got lots more of those bars than Le Thanh Ton or Ly Tu Truong or any other street around there.

The girls are certainly not allowed to go home with customers. But if you are nice to people good things can happen - I have met a few of these gals for lunch and afters.

She arrived home few hours later.

So there is that possibility. Most of these girls or all that work in these jap/korean bars are looking for husbands. My niece's mother (my sister in law) wants a rich husband who will buy her (the mother) a house, pay for a maid/cook, give her a allowance, buy a new motobike. As for the daughter the husband must buy her a house, car with driver, motobike, cook, maid etc etc. When she told me I just laughed in her face and said no man will do that, not for this chubby lazy virgin bride and a greedy mother in law.

Thanks for your replies in regards of the "Japanese St", do these girls offer any services on the premises, or just companionship?

I am bringing a friend of mine from Europe to HCMC next week, I've got some feel for the place after my visit in July, however. We are looking for some takeaway for 3 days, would this be possible from the western girlie bars in HBT(? ). If so, what would one except to pay for that? I know they charge 50 bucks for a quikie upstairs, so would 150 bucks for 3 days be a good deal for these girls, as I assume they only get a customer every blue moon if staying in the bar.

Or any other tips for girls for a few days, and it has to be quality and not from a dirty run down place catering for locals, as I'd rather not bring too many diseases back home.

Nothing on premises -- and takes work and time to get them to do anything off the premises. For a short visit, this is probably a dead end.

As for the HBT type bars, I don't think you'll get many takers for $150 for 3 days. For one you would have to pay their barfine (around 300,000VND) for each day, and long time to the girl is typically at least 1.5 million VND. You can do the math and bargain from there, but you can see she's going to have to pay the bar 900,000 VND for those 3 days out (don't think that part is negotiable), and it's only the money after that you'll be able to bargain with her over. Let us know what kind of deal you're able to make-- might be useful info for some.

As you come down Nguyen Kiem street in Go Vap (or is it still Nguyen Oanh there?) -- anyway it is a one way street along the stretch I'm thinking about, heading IN toward the city centre -- there are a bunch of cafes with cute girls close together, around 3 or 4, all on the left side of the street.

Are these just normal cafes? Has anyone checked those out?

Last night I was returning home from a bit of a cruise around, I saw a mamasan and 4 lovely young girls, must have been under 23yrs old at the corner of a certain intersection in GV. This was around 11pm. The Hong Ha strip was dead, Though Hoang Van Thu had some pickings even this late. Some young under 25yr olds hanging around.I've found a lot more locations in the past few nights, Makes for interesting nightly rides.

[/QUOTE]1.5mill for LT is resonable for the HBT bar area. Maybe you've done your calculations incorrectly but this figure is only about USD$90. Which is far cheaper than Singapore. If you go to the HBT bars and can persuade a pretty thing to go with you for that price, LT, then you've done well (all things being considered).

Outside of these bars you'll be looking at 1 mill ST for most FL or club pick ups. Things aren't that cheap in HCMC.

I've been to the first one on the left hand side as you enter from Le Than Ton. To make is absolutely certain they even have a sign plate saying "Japanese". That was the reason I walked into it to see what the fuck is it that they are talking about. The whole street is packed with bar after bar after bar. Lots of lights. Cuties everywhere. It's almost like a little Vegas.

There was a $20 table charge, which is basically what you pay if you decide to stay. $7 beer. Tips for the girl is up to you but naturally they expect something along the lines of other charges.

As I sat myself the mamasan opened up the menu for me to choose from. Bottles of alcoholic beverages ranging from $85 to probably $300. What the fuck lady? Don't you have at least some fucking shame? I could supposedly use the same bottle on following visits. I asked them if could just order a simple fucking beer, then she said yes. Episode one over.

Line up of girls followed. I found the girls to be average but the one I picked was absolutely stunning. She wasn't slim, wasn't big, was tall, extremely pretty, carried herself superbly well, gorgeous body, dressed in white Ao Dai, an angel. Showed the ***** of herself when she sent me a text message at the stroke of midnight if I could buy her a phone the next day when I had planned to meet with her. That was the end.

I asked her what the fuck was Japanese about this place? She laughed embarrassingly and said we have Japanese Karaoke. All girls were Vietnamese, some spoke few sentences of Japanese.
