There is a Hotel on second street, I think it is on the 12th block. I stayed at this joint few times, It is girl-friendly. The name is: "Ice Inn".

Above all I'd like to know if there are large rooms and if it is a good hotel for cheap money.

Then I'd like to weigh up the pros and cons.

In my opinion this is an excellent location. You can easily walk to Beach Road and catch a southbound baht bus to Walking Street. You can just as easily walk to Second Road and catch a northbound baht bus to Soi 6. And if you want to visit the up-and-coming naughty boy establishments on Soi LK Metro you can walk there too. Soi 13 is also very convenient in terms of your day-to-day needs. It's very close to a Family Mart and a 7/11, plus there is a grocery store across the street in The Avenue shopping mall. There are several beer bars close by, and a Starbucks and McDonald's if you like American fast food. Soi 13 is also home to the Sportsman Pub, and the legendary Lek Hotel buffet, which is open for breakfast and dinner. There are also a couple of food carts and a laundry. Finally, Soi 13 is a quiet little part of Central Pattaya with a very laid back vibe.

The rooms are on the small side, and they charge high season rates from November through April. Looks like you'll pay 1480 baht for a standard room, with the superior room costing an extra 200 baht. That's on the high side for a basic room in Central Pattaya. But the location is superb and being right in the middle of everything and so close to the beach costs a little extra. You can probably save 500 baht per night and stay in an equivalent room by lodging on Soi Buakaow. If you go with a guest house in that part of town you can probably save about 700 baht per night. If you are a first-time visitor and not very familiar with Pattaya, I would recommend staying at any of the hotels on Soi 13. The location is ideal for newbies.

I have never stayed there but walked in and looked at the rooms. They are ok. I've stayed next door at the White House Condotel for my last 6 trips. I believe it is nicer than the Dynasty. White House and Dynasty both have websites to book direct with the hotels. I'm actually looking for a newer place in the same price range for my next trip.

Soi 13 is the best soi to stay in Pattaya IMHO.

That's about the same as the rooms at the Dynasty Inn, but to my mind the Whitehouse is a nicer property. It's a quiet place that caters to golfers, while still being joiner friendly. Also, I think the Whitehouse throws in a free breakfast. It's not very elaborate, but it's a nice way to start the day and the dining room is a quiet cozy place that's usually empty once the golfers clear out early in the morning.

I've stayed there a few times. I usually book a Superior room and am happy with it. Not sure how you define large. I don't think they are huge, but they are not tiny either.

The smallest rooms I've ever stayed at were at the Ibis. The showers were particularly small.

I've never checked out the White House, although I've thought about it. Others have mentioned it's nice, and tripadvisor rates it higher, so I may change my reservation in April.

The whitehouse page looks like 1500 is the prepaid price, but I haven't clicked through.

I think you are right, Whitehouse Condotel is better than Dynasty Inn, but Dynasty Inn is cheaper and above all you have not to pay it in advance.

Sabai Wing is not too bad for the money. They have a restaurant in the adjacent Sabai Lodge which does breakfast for 200 baht. It is pretty good. This is the first time I have stayed on this side of Pattaya but I like it and would return.

I checked into Whitehouse yesterday and I have to say, I think it is much nicer than Dynasty Inn. I normally get the Superior room at Dynasty, but the room at Whitehouse is cheaper although you have to pay in advance. Also, their payment process is a bit odd. You have to pay with Paypal and it takes a while (about one day) before you get your confirmation that you've got your room even after you've paid.

The Whitehouse makes you read the house rules when you check in, then they read them to you as well for confirmation. There are only a few rules, one is the breakfast time (which is included in the price, unlike Dynasty) , another is that one guest is allowed free of charge, but each additional guest at the same time will include a 500 THB charge. They take the girls I'd and when she leaves, calls your room to make sure it's okay to return it.

They clean the room very quickly. I went to 7-11 for about five to seven minutes, they saw me leave and immediately cleaned my room and were done before I got back. I'd stay again.

One other thing I like about this hotel which is they provide a wash cloth. Many three star hotels in Thailand don't do this and I really miss it when I bath and shave. I usually have to go purchase one from someplace.

Last time, I stayed on Soi 13 instead and really enjoyed it. However, RG is really quiet if you want that. Also, RG has a really good (not included) American breakfast. Excellent home fried potatoes.
