Cartagena Reports

So I went to CTG for the first time a few months ago. First time in Colombia as well. After reading this thread it seems I missed a lot of good spots. I went to LDV and met someone there that I liked a lot and spent the rest of the trip with her. I know long time mongers will berate me but when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it.

I didn't know the area at all and I stayed mostly in La Guito and Boca Grande, not because I didn't feel safe but more because everywhere I went I was getting pounded by people begging for money and people selling shit. The beach was pretty lame compared to other places I have been but ok to hang out at for a day or two I guess, again people pounding me to buy shit.

My question for those of you who know CTG well is, is The Manilla House or Casa Marino still there? I heard about these places after I left and would appreciate any info on them. Sorry I didn't look back through this thread longer than the past year so if they have been talked about already I apoligize.

Also for those of you who know Colombia well, how does CTG compare to Medellin, Cali and Bogota? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have a 2 bedroom, 2 level penthouse in a new building in Laguito. There is a jacuzzi on the upper floor terrace. My agent is Juan Ventura. The penthouse is in Mirador del Laguito building.

Could you tell me how much and if it is available from the 27th until the Janauary 3rd

These have been very enlightening group of trip posts you have made both here and on the Viking resort business in DomRep.

One thing sort of bothers me though. I would not expect that for the amount of money paid the two Brazilians stood you up for the night and then the blond admittedly confessed she did not wish to spend the night with you on a different evening. I know the blond would have if you wished, but as a business this is what you had contracted for with Viking and I feel you got shorted on those two occasions.

A different set of complications on this trip left you with sub-par girls in the beginning. So I conclude that when paying the higher rates for these types of resorts a certain percentage of your money is not going to be fully realized. I am not sure I should call it wasted, but it seems about 20% of the total time somebody can expect this type of situation to happen.

The interesting part is that the guys here who pay considerably less are not reporting the same types of problems. Maybe they exist, I don’t know and if they do exist, I wish some of the guys here would speak up so that we can label this independent of the money spent.

I am trying to decide whether to spend an estimated $2500 in the two Frankfurt FKKs for 5 days or come to Dom and spend $2900 for 4 days. In your opinion how would you rank the quality of girls when comparing the FKKs with that I would get in a Viking like setting?

Another factor is that it is 0C in DE right now and 20C in Dom.

Yes we all agree the penthouse is very nice and we all agree Juan Ventura is a class act. But please enough is enough. There is a seperate thread to advertise the penthouse. This section is for reports and information, not an infomercial.....

Finally got a chance to drop a few lines on my Cartagena trip. Had a great time as always and there are plenty of ladies for all taste. Nothing has change accept the prices for the apartments which are approaching the outrageous range. I guess some people think Cartagena is Miami in my opinion. I ended up renting a one bedroom in Torre Centauro from Mery. It served my purpose of having a place to live for a few days. As far as the ladies I decided to do most of my shopping at LDV because I only had a few days. I did lay some ground work for my return trip with the "non-working" variety you can meet on colombian cupid and other Internet sites. The first girl I took out of ldv was Veronica (not her real name), started out asking for 450k for TLN, Of course I laughed and started the "bs" after some dancing and a couple of drinks the price was 150k. TLN included 4 pops and breakfast in bed. She left about midday and I went on my scouting trip were I meet one nice girl and we had lunch and I will see her when I get back to Cartagena. The rest of my trip was the same except the other girls did not serve breakfast in the morning. Veronica turned out to be the best and I should have stayed with her for my 4 day trip. She was also the only one who allowed photos.

Looking for a reasonably priced apartment in Cartagena from about 28 Dec for 10 to 14 days.Any suggestions/offers welcome.Also would welcome anyone who wishes to meet up for a beer.

There are no reasonably priced apartments during that time. And there are probably no vacancies, either. If you want to come during Christmas, you need to reserve 6 months in advance and be prepared to pay double or triple the normal rate.

If you don't have an apartment yet, you are probably out of luck. Prices go sky high.
