first, i've never been to a colombian city that i didn't like. all colombian cities have an unusually large quantity and variety of beautiful women. however, certain looks are more common in certain cities than in other cities. what look are you attracted to?

i go to four colombian cities. barranquiila, cali, cartagena and medellin. barranquilla is my personal favorite, but you will discover that my preference is uncommon. currently, there is an exaggerated medellin craze underway. a few years ago, cali was the craze. a few years from now, some other city will be the craze.

here are my idiosyncratic pet peeves with cali, cartagena and medellin. please keep in mind that i like all of these cities regardless of my pet peeves:

1. cali. safety. currently, safety is more of an issue in cali than in other colombian cities. however, cali has the best nightlife.

2. cartagena. vendors. the ubiquitous vendors in cartagena are beyond obnoxious. however, cartagena tends to have the best morenas (if you like morenas).

3. medellin. arrogance. the people of medellin are unjustifiably arrogant. paisas are "ugly latinos. " inevitably, most paisa women will begin to tell you at some point that medellin is superior to other colombian cities and that paisas are superior to other colombians. at that inevitable point, i cannot resist. in fluent spanish and with great diplomacy. telling paisas that medellin is nothing more than a big fish in a very small fish bowl. i also cannot resist pointing out that the united states is the most affluent and powerful nation in the history of the world. but i don't go around thumping my chest about it until some paisa begins to bore me with the inevitable rant about supposed paisa superiority. however, medellin tends to have the best rubias (if you like rubias).

But this applies, maybe to a lesser degree, to Colombians in all regions. The Rolos (Bogotá) take a back seat to no one.

Some of this regionalism is similar to whose high school is better. The Paisas will claim that MDE is the number 1 city in Colombia, but they will do it with a grin.

And I actually find the people of Medellin to be quite friendly in general.

I was planning a trip to Cartagena for some time in early may, but I think its TOO EXPENSIVE!

The flight from Miami is $640. I found a half decent apartment for $ 400 for a week. I figure, if I add 5 or 6 chicas and a few excursions to my trip its going to cost me the best part of $ 1700 for the week!

Maybe I'm just poor, but that feels like alot of money for a week.

Whats your experience? How much is it costing you guys to have a good time in CTG?

Maybe you can find cheaper places, but you will be in a paradise with great sights, food, bars, clubs and amazing chicks, both pro and non-pro.

And if you want to save a couple bucks you can pull the old "I did not know you wanted money..." at places like Electra (not advisable at Du Can and LDV) if you get a good vibe going with the lady.

Prices seem to have doubled in relatively short period. Does that mean i'm going to enjoy myself twice as much as when the trip would have cost me $850?

Don Christiano makes a good point that the destination itself is worth the money.

Great advice.[/QUOTE]First, I think Don C was just joking. If he is serious, I agree with Sean EZ. Please never ever do that. I adore and highly respect girls that do not discuss prices upfront. They usually (not always) tend to be also service oriented and perform well. If they start getting scammed by value seeking mongers it messes it up for the rest of us.

And 1000 dollars for accomodation, food, drinks and sex. A bit tough to get that anywhere with the number of women he expects to grab. Unless you are going for the $20 special everyday. Gas, energy and inflation have hit everywhere. Things are not dropping in price in the US.

I'm from Cartagena and I am married with a british man we have 2 years already and when I meet him Cartagena don't have prostitutes like now, he was lucky he meet me in the university and I was study law. I meet this world and I am here in this web site because I am trying to change the view from Cartagena in all the world, many people think Cartagena= prostitutes IS NOT is a beautifull beach, is friendly people good girls and sexy, is many things I can not explain but you need come here.

Also I want give a advice for you many people in Cartagena have HIV, make the test and save your self. One thing about Electra and previously Giro Matto and to some extent Tu Candela is that if you go during busy season (reina, music festiva, nye) you tend to meet girls on vacation too looking for gringos to make a buck. So I find these girls, not all of them of course, looking to party all night, go to beach at night and then you have to actually get rid of them in the morning. It seems that LDV is lot more short-term money oriented type environment. Also I like getting to the afterhours places after I am done clubbing at the regular places, so it works well for me. I can understand that some people prefer an earlier start and LDV will work better for them.
