A monger wrote in a few months ago that the Mayor's directives to clean up AC meant that the bars had a limited life. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here are some observations from on the ground:

1. Freelancer Park has been demolished and all the vendors selling footwear and clothing have lost their livelihood. I don't know why they call it Freelancer Park as I've never seen any freelancers there. They've got some amusement rides there now.

2. The street urchins who would beg outside of the Kwik E Mart have all gone.

3. No plastic bags or plastic straws. When you buy bottles of water, they pack them now in flimsy paper bags. Within 2 seconds, the condensation has disintegrated the bag and you've got no way to get the water bottles back to your hotel. Nice one you environmental pricks.

4. Viagra salesman have gone.

5. The kids selling cigarettes on WS now have a cover over the tray, presumably to hide their merchandise from LE.

6. I bar hopped with my PL chick yesterday and the bars were totally boring. Went to Atlantis, XS and Xanadu. Hardly any mongers and you could've fallen asleep there as the shows were so pathetic.

7. Wechat in AC is full of LBs.

If you are coming to AC, line up your hookers on PL. In the Pampanga section, pretty much all the girls are hookers. There will be a few call centre girls or school teachers, but they too are up for action.

Suppose once high season kicks off bar scene will pick up?

However, the whole AC girlie bar business model is not sustainable:

Essentially full prepayment gives no incentive for good service.

Expanding online and civilian options for the girls mean that the pool that bars can recruit from is ever diminishing. Most employ who ever they can get and very few can insist on only pretty and outgoing girls.

With the cost and ease of travel dropping, the proportion of repeat visitors has increased. Many can arrive in their favorite town (s) with contact numbers from previous visits and not need to even enter a bar to get a girl. I rarely actually barfine a girl anymore and usually only enter a bar to drink and / or have a perv.

Sure the % of hard core hookers might be lower but the same method still works. Many actually get more enjoyment from the fresher girls.

In my mind the only benefit to AC bars is the concentration of sure thing, point and shoot girls and the ability to easily hop from bar to bar to bar. Otherwise many other towns, with the same amount of effort can provide fresher girls for a fraction of the price and often in far nicer surroundings.

With the bars' fixed costs so high, I don't see drink nor BF prices dropping. I could see the business model move away from the old 'drinks wih the boys', 'party all night' focus to a much more ST treadmill as Pattaya and BKK have become.

Opposite to Western World psychology / strategy, when sales / cash flow sinks. Years ago Angeles flooded with handsome guys like me = healthy cash flow, then new factors suppressed bars cash flow = bar fines went from P900 to P3000 and beyond. Not in one night, but happened. Bar fines will go up, especially if cash flow goes down. Flip logic at work.

Low season, heavy rains, flooding, misleading info on Mayor actions, all add up to very quiet AC. Myself, like EngineDriver, 1st week of September, only me in a bar of 60 plus girls, all average looking girls too, by the way. Lookers will come out, say October / Nov onwards for high season K clientele, LOL.

So what hasn't changed in Angeles City over the past year?

1. The trike mafia still charges 100 pesos for a short ride on the main strip. I guess the Mayor couldn't convince the mafia don to stick to the published rate guide.

2. Pot holes, pot holes and pot holes. More pot holes than back in my country. The money for pot hole repairs has been diverted to the road department's Christmas fund.

3. Food generally remains inedible haha. Good opportunity for fat mongers to lose weight. Food is exceptionally bad at Kokomo's. Even the chick I was with couldn't eat more than a mouth full of the Chicken Pad Thai. Please don't order any food at Kokomo's. It is only good for having a drink and watching people from the front bench.

4. Random girls are still shamelessly flirting with me at JJ Supermart and at the Jollibee queue. Off duty hookers doing what they do best. I'm sure it won't happen to me next week in downtown Davao City.

Most everything else is shit.

While waiting for my 5. 00 pm PL date, I popped in next door to the Brass Knob Hotel and Bar for a drink. I was very impressed. It's a very neat and tidy looking daytime bar, with about 8-10 dancers. Girls are not stunners, but okay. A little more mature but I'm sure they would give very good service. It's a very low stress bar without any hard sell. Most of the clientele was older Australian or American gentlemen. This bar is not set up for Korean or Chinese mongers LOL.

Unlike other gogos, you can order proper food here for lunch and dinner. You can bring in your laptop, use the free wifi and do some work for a few hours. It's that type of bar. The music is not so loud. It's very much a hidden treasure which gets overlooked. If you are sick of the rubbish on WS, and want a quieter set up, check out the Brass Knob.

There was a pretty lady there with a brilliant smile called Grace, whom I invited over. I bought her a LD. I had a coke. My drink was 65 pesos and her LD was 260 pesos. I also barfined her since she was lovely to be with and I told the mamasan I would collect her at 7. 00 pm. The barfine was 1800 pesos.

My plan now is to go one round with my PL date at 5. 00 pm, pay her 1500 pesos and chuck her out at 6. 30 pm. Then I will go next door and collect Grace who will go LT with me. I might need to open up that packet of elephant strength Viagra. LOL.

Ageing mongers will get sick often when chasing pussy in third world shitholes. Constant DFK, DATY and AR with hundreds of loose women will take its toll.

I was sick on Day 2, but it was not due to a sexual infection haha. Not knowing what to do, I rang a doctor mate back home who suggested I seek urgent medical treatment. Not knowing where to start the process in AC, I rang reception and was I advised a doctor would be sent to my room. An hour later, there's a knock on the door and in comes a young female doctor in a white doctors' coat and with a stethoscope around her neck. Following her was a young nurse in an white nurses' uniform carrying a medical kit bag. By this time I was half expecting a gurney and two gurney pushers to be waiting outside haha. Why don't we get this type of treatment in my country?

They were very professional and their diagnosis was the same as my mate's. They injected me with a couple of vials of medicines and gave me a prescription for various drugs. The bill was 4,900 pesos.

I went to their clinic today for follow up treatment. This is a first world type establishment. No monger is going to die in AC. The standard of medical care is excellent. Details are below.

Just arrived via Victoria Liner from MNL. Flight to Singapore departs from MNL at 9:40 pm Saturday. Any alternative to Genesis bus to reach MNL? Just read a report about their unreliability.

Also what is PL? I suppose this is a Philippines specific term as I did not find it on the abbreviations page. I'll be visiting bars on 21st Street tonight. Are there any other localities with potential for some action?

Paz. If there for a day it is easy. If a man can't get laid in AC even if looks like the hunchback of Notre Dame and smells like a sewer he has issues as always someone will think you are handsum.

So RTFF and you will find all you need and why use PL as you are there for a day. And take a taxi as then you will get to Manila on time. Just need to RTFF about how long the journey will be on Saturdays.
