The only thing that prevents the threads working properly is the people posting stuff irrelevant to the thread. This is mostly caused by a large lack of Thread moderation.

I would be very happy to have a Bangkok Specific Girl Reports, thread for example, and a Bangkok Mongering Venues Thread. I would love to have a "Pricing Debates" thread to completely ignore. LOL

If they get extra custom because someone has written a glowing report, good for them, they deserve it. How is it insulting? Remember, this is the job they are choosing to do.

Secondly, you are assuming that all readers of ISG are similar to you with the same experience, who just want to read about the bare minimum of information (venue, bar-fine, good or bad, the end). But a lot of people read this forum when preparing for their first trip to Thailand. I know I did. As such perhaps they want to read about what actually happens post bar-fine and what they can expect when they get a girl back to their room. Also I suspect a lot of people use this site as a bit of escapism back home between trips (I fall into this category at the moment). In-depth reports from the front-line like Kumbu's add much-needed interest to this forum and are a welcome diversion from the usual bickering about tipping, riding bare-back and sim-cards.

Putting that aside, wouldn't there be value in having the reports in the specific MP threads contain informative field reports. They wouldn't have to follow a structured form, but there could be an expectation that certain information would be provided. Then there could be a separate thread for Kumba Reports. I'm trying to introduce this term into the ISG lexicon. The point of this thread would be to write entertaining stories about experiences with gogo girls, MP girls, freelancers, etc.

Would it be useful to expand this idea and have a thread for Nana Entertainment Plaza, a thread for Soi Cowboy, a thread for night clubs?

I think Syzygies is correct that a well thought out set of threads makes it easier to focus on topics of interest.
