I am glad to see that someone is using the "Makati" section of this group. This has been dead for over a month now. And sorry to say, that Makati is also very, very dead. I was just there about 4 weeks ago.Right before the coup attempt. It was dead then, and I have heard it is even more deserted since the coup attempt.
As for your direct question, I am embarassed to say I don't know those bars, and cannot comment directly. But, if you have not been to Makati in over 2 years, you will probably notice how it is probably a little less exciting.
The good news is that the girls are fairly desperate, and there is little competition for P4P in Manila.
Hopefully, others will see your question and provide better info than what I have given. I am interested to hear more about the club scene, because during my last 2 trips (3 days, and 4 days only), I didn't have time to go out too much. Just to Hard Rock,and to see some girls in Burgos. I'll be going back in about a month....so, maybe I can post then. cheers

The girls in Makati, are extremely hungry right now (August 12, 2003). While more expensive you only need to visit about 4 to 6 clubs one night and you can walk away with enough numbers of sneak outs to keep you busy for weeks. They will try and double up a lot to help each other out. The uglier bar girls swarm you sometimes. I try and pick out a good looking dancer when three or 4 waitresses start to hit me up and just talk to her until I get a feel of who I want. I use the line I meeting a friend at Jools or something to exit but leave my number and say I wish I had met her sooner and give me a call. Always get callbacks. You mayget a lot of girls around and you don't want to buy them all drinks (unless your loaded and want to). I gave out 300P under the table to 6 girls that had been stroking the little guy and my phone number to one girl. Two girls called back. Got a shortime (my choice) and gave her P1500.

Went to L.A. Café on a Sunday afternoon older “Mamasan type” hooked me up with 2 young girls ( over 18). It is nice to here that Makati is picking up. That's my stomping grounds. When I left a few weeks ago, me and my friend notice that things have quited down since the coup. I can't wait to get back there in a couple of weeks. Being back in the states isn't as fun as in the Philippines.

When I do return, I'll be doing some serious bar/club hopping. Plus I miss my regular weekly massages. And to think I hated it at first being assigned to the P.I. sevral years ago. I get more for my paycheck than back home. Hopefully, my buddy gets assigned with me soon. I know he'll love the place. Especially since he just got off a nasty divorce.

Well, here's my .02 worth...

I arrived in the Philippines on Sept. 3 and left Sept 19th. First stop was Manila. I stayed at the Shangri La in Makati for 4 days and 3 nights.

Since my flight arrived very late at night (12am), after clearing customs and getting my baggage, I arrived at the hotel at approximately 1:00 in the morning.

I immediately went to the Hard Rock Cafe (which is very near the hotel). Unfortunately, there wasn't much going on so I left and stopped for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Starbucks is located across the street from the Shangri La.

No sooner did I sit down, 2 Filipinas asked if the 2 empty chairs at my table was available. I invited them to sit and offered them both some coffee which they accepted.

We chatted for a bit and they agreed to accompany me to my hotel room. The following morning, I paid them 2000 pesos for their time.

The next day, I decided to take a trip to EDSA where I went to the Firehouse and My Fair clubs. I fancied a cutie in My Fair and paid the 1000 peso barfine and took her back to my hotel room. I gave her an additional 1000 peso the following morning (around 9:30am).

Third day, I went to Glorietta mall and had lunch. Spotted a beautiful Filipina eating near me. We smiled at each other and invited her to sit. From our conversation, I found out she wasnt a working girl but an accountant that worked nearby.

At any rate, I didn't take her back to the hotel room (but will at a later date).

On the forth day, I flew to Cebu city and checked into the Waterfront Hotel. After getting settled in, I asked the cab driver to take me to a nearby disco. He recommended the Sunflower City disco which just opened a month ago. Entrance fee is 100 pesos.

I sat at the bar and had a few drinks. Now, it's a bit harder for me to be approached by Filipinas because I'm Asian, early 30's and many think I'm Filipino. However, the disco is kinda of pricey and my attire was that of a businessman. In the end, I talked to a few young ladies and ended up taking one back to my room. I tipped her 1500 pesos the following day.

Next night, I asked the cab driver if he knew of any good places for a tourist to pick up a cute lady. He drove me to this apartment complex. I entered into a large room and roughly 35 Filipinas entered the room wearing numbers. I picked a lady and paid the owner of the complex 2000 pesos and had the girl for the entire night. No additional tip was required.

The next night, the same cab driver took me back to Sunflower City Disco, Club Harem and several other spots in Cebu City. He drove me around for about 4 hours and at the end of the night, I paid him 500 pesos.

I also went to Ayala Mall and met a few ladies by sitting at Bo's Coffee Club. Just order a cup of Jo, sit down and sooner or later a young lady will walk by and smile. Return the smile and the rest you can figure out.

All in all, I stayed in Cebu for 6 days and had a wonderful time.

I left Cebu and flew back to Manila. Friends that I've known for awhile picked me up at the airport and I stayed with them in Laguna. I didn't pick up any ladies in Laguna since I was with friends the whole time.

After my stay, I went back to Manila and checked into the Heritage Hotel. There's not much within walking distance of the Heritage (other than McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut) but across the street is the EDSA Entertainment complex.

That night, I went back to My Fair and bar fined the same girl as before.

The following day, I called the young accountant I met at Glorietta Mall (buying a cell was a big bonus). We agreed to have dinner together.

To make a long story short, I ended up taking her to my room after a few dates and had a couple of wonderful nights with her. When I finally was ready to leave the Philippines, she took me to the airport. It was tough seeing her cry at the airport.

Re hotels, if you have some $$$ the shangri la is incredible.. I paid 90 per night in makati for this 5* hotel. have to book 3 night to get this rate. go through RAJA travel in manila or in San Francisco CA.

5 min next to the airport is a laser Karaoke/ spa called Airforce one. Amazing. Like a vegas club. The spa will offer flying first class or coach. the diff is the quality of the room. I was in a hurry so the more $ for the jacuzzi etc was not needed. $26 gets you a massage and the room for 1 1/2 hr. If you want sex yo pay the girl another $26. first class is $46.00 for room and 46 for boom boom. You have to experinece the class of this place. yo can go upstairs for the show and get a priivate room with a girl . you have to spend 80.00 in food and drink and then yo negotiate with girl. Great food. I rec chkecking you rbags at the airport and then heading over there. WATCH YOU R TIME... ONECE YOU ARE IN THE AIRPORT AFTER COMING BACK FROM THIS INCREDIBLE TIME YOU MUST GET PAST THE PASSPORT BOOTH AND THEY TAKE FOREVER. Almost missed my flight but well worth it

Makati's club scene is as follows:

KTVs/Girly Bars - P Burgos Street, have a taxi drop you off here and walk around the various foreigner friendly bars.


Local Club Scene - Wasabi, Whereelse, Temple, Olive, Mustang, Absinth, V, and various others in the Greenbelt/Glorietta area. Most of the places are social gathering types, not alot of pros.

If you want a more laid back local spot go to any Cowboy Grill or most clubs in Malate.

If you're unsure about what to do but you want to experience some good night life in town call or text my guide Jay R 0917 414 5416 , he'll be your driver, guide to women, and will ensure that you get from your hotel and back safely.

East Asia: I stopped going there 2 years ago because they continued to rip me off. P600 to get in, P900 for 1 hour with girl, talking only. Then p5000 or more for BF. This is crazy I thought, especially since NONE of the girls on 2 visits were dancing topless. Any thoughts?
Makati: I used to go to Giraffe (next to Shangri-la/Starbucks) but that is closed and has a jazz bar....zzzzzzzz...boring for free lancers. Now that I'm back in the PI, I can at least say my dry spell is over. From reading the last couple of post I tought Makati might have a little action finally. I think I have an idea about Filipino below the belt’s psychology. Filipinos are willing to spend few hundred USD for drinking San Miguel/Black Label, pulutan, and ladies’ hour & drinks. But, when it comes to sex they think it should be free so they do ligaw ligaw instead. I think this is the reason why Manila has the strongest dry companionship and the weakest wet companionship markets in S.E. Asia. I think this is also the reason why A class went to Brunei and B & C class went to Japan, HK, Macao, KL, and S’pore because they can’t make money in Manila.
