Hey Guys,
I want to stay on the mexico side next time, but I want to stay within walking distance of the border. I've seen references to the Hotel Fiesta, the Reforma, and the Rio Grande Plaza, which I believe are all located close to the border, but I'm not sure they're all within walking distance of the border. Can anybody give a little comparitive review of these hotels:
I need to know the following on each:
1. Quality of accomodations.
2. Cost.
3. Exact directions walking from the bridge.
4. Girl friendly.
5. Distance from the border.
6. Safety/Security
or, does anybody know of any other hotels on the mexico side within walking distance of the border that are good?
I've stayed at the Laquinta in Laredo in the past, but its a little too pricey. I'm looking for something similiar to at least a Motel 6 in price and quality of accomodations. You know, something clean, relatively comfortable beds, decent bathrooms, etc.
Of course, I've seen some good reviews of other hotels that are on the way to BT, but I don't want to spend a lot on taxi fare back and forth from the border during daytime hours. So, I thought it would be more convenient to merely have a base of operations located within walking distance of the bridge so I could use my car during the day, which will be parked on the US side.
Next, question...
I would also like to visit some of the bars within walking distance of the border too. Are these bars close to the park, gringo friendly, working girls, etc...?
I've already been to the Herradura (Horseshoe), but any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help!
Hey s sponge , Reforma is cool..............
Hey Chango,
Where's it at after you cross over the bridge? Thanks!
Hey sponge, straight south on the strip about three blocks on the right hand side ..., should be the first block after the plaza., You asked about girl friendly hotels ,I only seen the bigger more formal hotels have a problem with it... I think any hotel would say something if u had a chica coming and going every 5 minutes, but if u bring a gal back at night and anyone says anything ..a $5.00 tip to the counterperson /etc. goes a long way.......................... Have fun , Chango
Hey Thanks Chango,
I'll check out the Reforma on my next trip...
...sponge
Stayed at the Reforma in Jan. of this year 1st trip to Nuevo Laredo Mex. It was perfect for mongering.
....Chief
Chief..., How u doin ?? This board has been really quiet . few months ago it was hoppin . oh well....I stayed at the Reforma last month ago . there was a cool front pass thru and they had the best bedding of any hotel I can remember...I think it was around $ 32.00 a night...I think next time I'm in NL I'll unload my motorcycle( a 125 cc) in Tx. and ride across to save money back and forth from bt etc.. a cab is cool if u can split the fare but from town to NLBT and back = 20.00 thats a score or almost anothr night in hotel .....
Later, Chango
Hey Chief,
Thanks for the testimonial about the Reforma. It sounds like just what I'm looking for.
Hey Chango, I agree, where is everybody??? I guess everybody's been working too hard so they can save up for the next trip...
Sponge,
Reforma is about $32-33 per night 5 blocks down Guerrero on the right with a very good restaraunt in it and monger friendly and secure parking in the back. only bad thing is sometimes they stick you on the 3rd or 4th floor and no elevator.
Regis hotel is 3 blocks down Guerrero and one block to your right a little cheaper and not quite as nice as the reforma and monger friendly.
As far as bar girls there is a bar just off of guerrero that has girls. as you are walking down guerrero and you come to a pay parking lot on your left (approx 3 blocks) make a left and go 1 block and you will see the Herradura (horseshoe) bar cant miss it there is a lot of purple neon lights around it and the door is surrounded by a giant plaster horseshoe. This bar is full of girls with regular jobs looking to make extra money on the weekends and can be had for $30-40 always have a live band and porn going on several tv's and it is also open during the days but if you dont have a room near Guerrero you will have to pay $13 for short time at the stained sheets inn. but the girl will not leave the bar with you cause it is illegal for such transactions to take place outside of the zone. She will tell you to go rent the room and meet you there or meet you at your hotel in 5 minutes a little spanish is necessary.
Also during the day the Turf club is nice you can bet on football, basketball, baseball hockey, horses and dogs. You can watch all the current games on big screens and it is a VERY nice place and the beer and food is reasonable. It sets on the northeast corner of the very first plaza you come to. Directly east across the plaza from the popular La Mina bar. Cant miss it big black Steel and glass door with Sports figures painted on the walls. Really good $2 parlays during football season.
Thats all I can think of for now.

Thanks for the good information. I’ve actually been to the Herradera, but it was during the day. When I was there the place was almost empty, the band was just practicing, and there were only a few Chicas and none were desirable. I got into a conversation with a Mexican guy at the Herradera during my last trip, and we started talking about him learning English, and me trying to learn Spanish. He spoke good English, so as we finished our beers, and he helped me with my pronunciations of Spanish words and phrases. Spanish lessons were not the reason I was at the Herradera, but the time I spent there was useful anyway. I’ll have to check out the Herradura at night when there is more activity, and probably a better selection of Chicas.
Hey Guys,
I thought I had read a couple of posts here about some open-air bars in N/L. I got the impression that they were not too far from the town square, and that they had some semi-pro activity, but the post didn’t indicate any specific details (directions, names of the bars, etc…). Does anybody know anything specific about the open-air bar scene?
Also, what about strip clubs outside of BT? With a Zona being in N/L, I don’t know if Mexican authorities would allow them to stay open. I know that in Matamoros, where there is no BT, the strip clubs flourish. I know Reynosa has some strip clubs that are not in BT. Just curious.
Saturday night (05-03) in Nuevo Laredo...
This trip I went straight to Papagayos instead of 123 for the start of the night. I met a gentleman named D--- having a beer. It was early, about 9pm and there were some chicas and many tables vacant. Talked with D---, he is 71 and one spry 71 year old. I am 40 and can only hope to be in as good a shape in 31 years.
Well, I drank to the point I was starting to worry that I'd not get it up but luckily the two girls i choose that night were good for the job and I had two nice ones. the first I picked at about 11:30p, nearly 2.5 hours of drinking later. She had a really fine round shapely ass with long blonde hair. I'd say she is only 5 foot tall, one bambino, and after the clothes came off she was still quite fine. Back massage, cover-bj for five minutes and I was about to cum but want to put it in, no problem. Nice soft ass to collide with in doggie style until finale. Overall I give her an 8. Tengo muy bueno sexo para mi.
After I returned there is a guy sitting with D---. It's KosherKowboy! I finally run into one of the Army guys. Well, after a chat and a handshake D--- and I went off to the Mirabu I think. It is the very nicely appointed bar that is always almost dead. We talk a bunch of rich crap, drink more beers and then head to the club next to 123 (can't remember the name). Walk in and walk out, no good muchachas to choose from, and back to Papaguyos.
It's about two am now, the girls are getting aggressive. I am latched upon by a semi-not-so-good-loooking girl. Not a bad face but she has a lot of miles. she is not fat but the miles are there but her hands and like a vice grip and I think, just go with it, this one will know massage and I was correcto. She gives a very long, full body massage, from toes to finger tips and I am thinking this is worth it even if no sexo. My nose is running (have cold) so I get up for some tissue and then lay on the back and she lubes up with more baby oil and attacks my member with an excellent touch, gives it a wondrous massage and then goes for the BBBJ until I cum. I was glad she opted for that because I was in no shape to be trying to work it myself! Overall I give this one an 8 (5 in looks) but service was excellent. Both girls did not hurry me and no door knocks. I think it was a 15 beer night so I felt lucky to get two pops.
Now, here is what I noticed, the price seems to be going up at papaguyos. Has anyone else noticed this? I am almost always quoted 60 bucks there except for one time in about 12 trips. Well, last night the opening price by both girls is 75. I countered with 60 each time and both offers were accepted but I am worried that the opener is now 75! Please try to help keep these prices under control! I understand a little higher for the stunners in a moment of weakness, but everyone, try and be strong okay! And I did not choose any of what we might call stunners. However, the first was certainly good looking, she is not the primo dream chica as some of them are in there.
I think that business must be down for two reasons, no door knocks and... the coppers are on the prowl! I have never driven in NL but one of my regulars (that was not there) has a brother that drives me to the border some times. But he has Mexican tags so I have never had an issue with police. Last night though. D--- drove me to the border and a cop tails us from no where, pulls us over and finds a little bitty dinky swiss army knife in D---'s truck. It cost D--- 150 to not go to jail. I paid ten of it and I would have paid more but it was all I have! I think it is time to be careful when driving in NL. I will never do this because I am always in a rental car. Just a warning for you guys that drive. D--- told me that our mistake was leaving after midnight because he says the cops don't prowl too much for bribes until after that time.
D--- is staying at the Reforma and I am staying at the Gateway Inn on the American side. the rooms are 31.99 at the Gateway and everything works fine and I can use my computer. I just got my free morning coffee and decided to type this trip report from me to you.
I will go meet D--- at the reforma at 5pm and we shall go to the bullfight. After that it is back to papaguyos for one last round then I jump on American at 6:30am on monday and fly to dallas where i will drive to work very happy to have got laid, not gone to jail, and all the other nice realities I can think of. :)

Driving is no really a problem here in NL. A bit of advice though. Should you get stopped again, get the cops badge number if possible and the number off the side of the car. There is a concerted effort by Pepe Suarez and the Governor of this state to put an end to this crap. If you feel you're not guilty of anything, demand to be taken before a judge or their commandante. In most cases, they'll let you go with a warning.
It's strange though. Ive lived over here for almost two years and have never ever been hassled by these cops. Regular or Transito. whereas, living in Juarez, I was continuall paing out bribes.
Spongebob: The only open air bar that comes to mind is straight ahead about 1.5 blocks from the bridge on your right hand side. You can't miss it. Dont know about the action there though. For semi-pros, try the Herradura Club.
Another good alternative is the Massage scene that has poped up her in Nuevo Laredo.
Strip CLubs. Straigt ahead about 4 miles on the main drag you will cross a major intersection after a traffic circle where the traffic becomes 2-way. This is Paseo Colon. Thru that light about two blocks on your right, you'llsee a club called EGYPXIAS. High dollar. Don't know about the action but on the outside it sas "Tourist Mens Club". Tkae that for what it means. Continuin straight on out Reforma, about 5 miles on the right, you will see Colorado Men's Club. Both have strippers. Don't know about other action though.
And then on Lopez Lara, the street you take as you're going to BT, there is a new one down past V. Carranza on the right hand side. Close to the Ford dealership i believe. Never see many cars there so can't tell you too much about it.
Border Jumper,
This is pretty par for the course as far as the police are concerned in NL. I have driven 40-50 times and only in the last couple of years has the policia been shaking down gringos with american plates but PL's friend is right if you get out of the zona before midnight and there are still lots of tourist around you should be fine. I told one of the girls in the Marabu about this and she said that is correct if you are not leaving til after midnight either take a taxi or pay a local $5 to drive you back. Luckily the last time they got me I had put all my money in my shoes so I only had $40 in my wallet. When the cop demanded $125 I opened my wallet and showed him I only had $40 and he settled for that. Then there is the 2 am road blocks on paseo de lara(looking for gringos). If you keep driving you will eventually get popped (law of averages). They were trying to tell me I was drunk when this just happened to be a night I was drinking mineral water ONLY! When they decided if they took me to the doctor and I was found to be sober they would get nothing they then told me I wasnt wearing my seatbelt (which i was) and that was $125 fine. That was when I decided to offer him what I had in my wallet and get some sleep. I have several friends who got shaken down with the road block, one time I was the passenger and was informed it was a fine for riding while drunk which I promptly told th officer to fuck himself and he never said another word to me? of couse I am a very large person and I was quite pissed at the time.

Yeah, I live here full time in Nuevo Laredo ans i guess fortunately, they've never fucked with me. When they do though, they can take me to the station as far as I'm concerned. Even if you're guilty, it's a hell of a lot cheaper to pay the judge than some asshole that's on the take. Fortunately, right now, we have a bunch of PFP troopers on the streets and Federal Highway Police patrolling thestreets as we have a small and inconsequential drug wa going on here now. The Camiones Federal are the highest paid in Mexico and actually the most incorruptible.
