An eye candy from my recent trip to Colombia.

Also, I'd like to point out to fellow travellers from the Euro area going to Colombia, how I've had the distinct impression that USD will take you way further over there. Don't know if anyone can confirm / deny that, but I've been consistently getting a lousy rate for my Euro (lower than what coinmill quoted) , and I guess (will investigate further in the future) that the best option would be to buy cheap USD back in Europe before travelling to Colombia and then use them to buy COP. By looking at the exchange rate they offer, that seems to be the trick they do anyways. Compute your Euro to buy USD and then from that give you the equivalent in COP, so charging twice for one single transaction (kinda like Western Union works, IMO).

By buying USD back in Europe and then using them to buy COP in Colombia you get more COP in the end. USD are more welcome than Euro over there, and you can see this in the rates they offer for them.
