I took about a 5 minute look on the internet, and there are numerous press reports of two Americans and one Finn killed by Hong Kong prostitutes who used Rohypnol. The AP and AFP both quoted Hong Kong police as saying 44 foreign men reported being drugged and robbed in Wan Chai in a period between 2004 and 2007. And it does make sense that could be the tip of the iceberg -- I probably wouldn't report getting drugged by a prostitute to the police if it happened to me.

Thks SEAJ for helping me with that went to Eden Hotel in Central I higly recommend it they even got mirrors on the ceiling and a Jacuzzi in the delux room.

My take on it, for what it is worth, is that the problem is nowhere near as bad as was suggested in that Marie Claire report.

The men had bar finded the girls at one of the street level bars on Lockhart Road. I am pretty sure the guys brought through own drugs. The girls were just scared shitless and went into hiding. I don't remember that the girls or the bars were ever charged with anything.

One time I was in Dusk till Dawn with a lady-friend, a local not a working girl. She was a bit drunk, but not slopy. The guy next to her, a well dressed investment banker looking South Asian, bumped her a few times. The third time she turned and said "cut it out", whereupon he hit her in the face with a beer bottle. The bouncers quickly separated us and put him in a taxi. She had a bit of a black eye but was left wondering "what the fuck".

I suspect you have more to fear from your own bad behavior or the other guys in the bar.

One of the girls was indeed from a velvet curtain bar, but the other was from one of the discos.

They never located the disco girl, but tracked the velvet curtain girl down through credit card receipts.

The poor velvet curtain girl was charged with breaching her conditions of stay (ie, visa says dancer, but she admitted to sleeping with the guy for money), and she was deported.

And, yes, the girls did not have anything to do with supplying the drugs. The guys had been partying and drinking hard for about a week before this incident. They had been buying their own drugs.

Can't believe the decline of girls in HK. The Wanchai bars, a few years ago the ratio was 70/30 or 60/40, girls/guys....now it is opposite and the quality of girls seems to have dropped dramatically...What a disappointment to be back. And with the prices too...not good.

I agree completely - in my report on 18th December 2008 I made exactly the same comment - quality is down a good bit. The ratio girls/men has changed because of stricter visa rules, It is not easy now for the girls, after their 14 day visa expires, to simply go to Macau or Shenzhen for a day and come back in to HK with another 14 day visa. My "Miss M", after I left, went to Shenzhen and on her return was given only 1 day and had to leave the next.

Not good.[/QUOTE]While I agree to a large extent (been living here for almost 2 years now), rememeber that a lot of girls have gone back for xmas and won't be back till Feb/March. Plus it's too cold for them now.

However, when I first started coming to HK on biz trip, the place was buzzing, a lot more girls and better quality. It's slowed down a lot for obvious reasons. The girls find it difficult to make money due to lack of guys willing to spend and the 2 week visa rule (for the flippers). That's why the viets are taking over. I'm not keen on them because they are very mechanical and business like. Cold fishes, complete turn off for me no mater how hot they are.

You do get the Filipino stunners in Fenwick but they have to like you to go with you.
