In fact I have an extensive background in math and science and took the time to become pretty knowledgeable for a layperson on synthetic testosterone. You're suspicions of people with a horse in the race is very wise. I deliberately talked to two friends, one working for a pharmaceutical company that did not manufacture a synthetic testosterone product, the other a biologist who does basic research on the endocrine system. I got blood tests and had consultations with two different doctors who used two different testing labs. In the end I decided to take a pass.

This all started when some guy asked about the difference between sildenafil citrate (Viagra) and testosterone products. I thought this was a topic that may be of interest to some of the guys who read the form so I gave a very brief, factually correct but somewhat flip answer. I appreciate that guys who read this thread are looking for information about gogos, beer bars, night clubs etc. I should have put my reply in the General Reports thread. I take responsibility for this and apologize.

My post stimulated a more extensive discussion than I anticipated, but I think everyone knew what he was talking about, was very good to not expand beyond the limits of his knowledge and repeatedly urged guys to talk to a physician. It is wise to take everything with a grain of salt. However, I think we provided enough specific information so anyone who was interested could do his own research.

But I work in the pharmaceutical business, and I can assure you that pharmacists have a much bigger commercial interest in selling you any old snake oil that anybody working in the pharma business, since 99. 99% of us have absolutely nothing to gain whether you buy a Pfizer drug or a J&J drug or neither. On the other hand a lifetime working in the industry does give us a bit of knowledge.

I've always wondered why the pharma industry gets such a bad rap. Most guys on the R&D side come into it from a scientific background with a real desire to improve the world's health. The marketing side of the pharma business can be pretty dodgy, but no worse than any other business (automobiles, banking, law, IT, PR, airlines: they're all pretty straight guys, right?)

Some deviation from thread purpose is to be expected. You could read up on the aims of the forum. Good positive experience reports are something that is generally accepted and desired by many readers.

On one hand you say reports on Testosterone are justified, and on the other you say you aren't going to give any credence to the opinions of others, no matter how well researched and knowledgable they might be.
