Yes, listen to Country Juan. I did exactly what he mentioned when I first came to this site. Read O'tooles guide then literally spent days reading old posts. I learned so much that by the time I went to Tj, it was like I had been there before. Knew exactly where to go, what to do, what not to do and how to do it. I owe this site a great deal of grattitude from all the posters adding to their experiences.

There's a map of Tj and its red light district that I made a while back that has helped many newcomers. You should be able to find it if you look at some of the old posts. If you can't find it then let me know, I'll put it up again.

Well, what can I say. It was the sport fuckerman in me while the girlie was vacationing in Acapulco (for three weeks).

The sessions were $400p for 40 minutes plus 100p for the room. You should post the map again. In fact, Jackson should post it in the O'Tool thread, or give it a sticky thread here in the Tijuana section. It is a very helpful and accurate map of the area and it would be extremely valuable as an aid to mongers who visit the Zona. We are all about helping each other out here, so what do you say Jackson?

thanks[/quote]greyhound and amtrak i have found run about the same ($60 +/-). i believe chartered buses running out of city of industry for example maybe slightly less. running my "money model" its still cheaper to drive and park near the boarder.

the problem you run into is time.

for example to drive from sfv to the boarder takes about 90 min@70 mph avg. with very little traffic, which at this point and time can only be done when your running against the flow of traffic into los angeles.

with the bus it goes right down to the boarder, in about 2 hours you could be across the boarder and don't have to worry about parking. or you can take it across the boarder into the bus station in tj.

@2.40 a gallon for high test for which my car runs on, it cost about $20 total to run to and from the boarder.

high speed rail is the answer here, but that won't even be started on until later next year is what they are saying.

i would drive at the current fuel prices, that is if your car gets 30mpg+ on the freeway.

But I guess that would be a better idea to put it in O'tooles guide thread. You seem to have some influence at these boards. Maybe you can convince him for me.

As for a bus ride to Tj I heard someone mention the Intercalifas bus being cheap and a non stop ride. There is also the Tres Estrellas Bus from the bus depot in Santa Ana and Downtown L.A. Not sure if that one is non stop though but it supposedly runs every hour.

I have the hotels that are on the tourist strip marked. I believe most of those are the nicer hotels. Pueblo Amigo which is outside the strip is from what I heard, one of the nicest hotels and its right next to Luxor club.

For hotties just visit the bars in the Zona Norte as pointed out in my map. You can also try some of the street girls. Their locations are also pointed out in my map. I don't know about escorts in Tj. I never tried them. In the Zona norte, there are so many women, bars, street girls, massage parlors and other options that I have no reason to try an escort.

If you're planning to drive into Tj and you are coming from Arizona then the Otay Mesa point of entry would perhaps be best. I'll let CJ fill you in on how to reach that one. But if you're only going to hang around Tj and its red light district, then I would advice not driving in. It's possible to get stopped by cops all the time and State side insurance doesn't cover any damages or theft of the car if it happens in Mexico. A hotel on the strip is like a few blocks away walking distance from the Zona anyways. You can park your car on the border from the San Ysidro point of entry.

Try reading O'tooles guide. Lot's of info there.

I needed to make a TJ run. Salma had been after me to come visit her, but work’s been pretty busy. I was able to clear my schedule for Thursday, so Thursday it was.
