However, the Skytrain makes all of them very accessible. Soi Cowboy (Asok Station) and Nana Plaza (Nana Station) are both on the Sukhumvit Line and just a few minutes apart. Patpong (Sala Daeng Station) is on the Silom line and takes maybe 15 or 20 minutes from Cowboy.

Prices are definitely higher than even 2 or 3 years ago, but it seems the service quality has declined as well. Now I read nothing but reports of 30 minute liaisons with a go-go girl for $100 or more. Hell, I can do that here. Needless to say, I quit going to go-gos. :)

For your every day gogo or beer bar or late night disco or street freelancer, pretty much anything goes as long as you are clean and reasonably sober. I mean look around you. 95% of sex tourists dress very casually and I would guess all of them are getting laid. All of them. The girls don't care. They have gotten used to the way most of us dress and deal with it. No girl in a gogo is going to look at a guy's shoes and say no because he has sneakers or flip flops on. On the other hand last week Bill Maher on his tv show had an amusing monologue on how badly Americans dress and just said stop it and I sort of have to agree with him on it. Let's get back to Mad Men fashion.

Of course you're right. Dress however you're comfortable dressing; however, I do think a lot of the farangs I see in Bangkok look like bums (I think when we travel we should always think of ourselves as ambassadors for our home countries); and I do think the P4P ladies respond better to a guy who is groomed and decently dressed. Sure they'll always take your money, but they may be better motivated to show you a good time if you don't look like a homeless person.

The remarks about shoes are true. Over the years I've known several hookers and hustlers who evaluate a man by his shoes, and they've claimed it is universal among other practitioners of their respective trades. Of course what they mean by this is they will try to fleece more money out of you if you are wearing nice shoes.

Unfortunately there are those who are only comfortable in sleeveless T-shirts, got to show the tattoos, dirty jeans / shorts showing both the underpants (if worn) and the bum crack and sneakers. Would they ever think of dressing like that to pick up a bird at home. Regrettably yes. I forgot the 2-day stubble and the dirty finger nails.

Groom. Yes, shaven, hair brushed (military haircuts acceptable, shaven heads doubtful) and clothes looking as if they had been freshly laundered.

Reverse the descriptions and would you pick up a WG with dirty unkempt hair, make-upjust every where, sweat satins under the arm pits; I could go on, but Mr sleeveless t-shirt might go for her.

Shoes. Sneakers. Out, dock siders, etc, in; plain dress shoes, in. Fancy shoes, very out.

There have been a number of p*ssing contests on this topic. I was hoping my a*hole attitude in my earlier post would limit the discourse. Oh well, once again I proved I'm capable of thinking through my ass. I think you sum it up very nicely: don't think you have to make a fashion statement, but look decent. I really like the way you make your point by turning the tables and using a slovenly looking SW as an illustrative example.

The salaries of 20 years ago are not the same as today. Most likely, more or less, price is nearly the same, figures aside.

I've been frequenting Crazy House a lot recently. 90 baht cola is quite a good value. Very busy whenever I go, usually between 9 and 11 pm. Definately a Farang bar. They outnumber Asians by at least 3-1 margin. As far as girl quality. A few pretty, many not so much. Definitely more Farang style girls. One noticeably thing different from other bars is girls are a lot more animated.maybe high on YABBA? Smoking sucks! Due to low cola prices I give the bar 2 tits up. Fine for 30 minutes or so.

But not that long ago the baht was at 40:1, short time was around 3 hours, long time was all evening, all night and most of the next day, and a go-go girl was 1500 short time. 2000 long time. So, about $50. Bar beer girls were cheaper, generally.

Then our benevolent government, starting in about 2007, fucked up our currency even more and the dollar dropped to 30:1. Now the same girl was about $70. Ouch.

Then the combination whammy of lower supply (fewer girls due to birth rate) , more opportunity (the non-bar economy is booming) and "I don't care, it's still cheaper than home" punters hit. So, now that same go-go girl may go for $100 to $130, no long time and short time may be 30 minutes. All with a girl that may rate about a 4. 5 on PUBS (Phordphan Universal Beauty Scale).

It's not all doom and gloom. There are still nice times to be had. I just think that the go-go bars represent a terrible value for money now, and their days may be numbered. Bar beers can still be a lot of fun. For my money, the semi-pro market, both in LOS and Mexico, represent the best value these days.

Can sombody please help me where I can find Japanese Girls in Bangkok?

In terms of best value bang for the buck, Pinay amateurs rank #1 and Pinay pros are probably #2 or #3. And boy are Filipinas available for Western men.

[It is just my opinion, but Mexico is permanently on my avoid list. The country is just too damn violent and crazy. Maybe that's why there is value there. I don't know. In truth, it's been over 25 years since the days when I toured around and spent a lot of time in Mexico. I would never travel like I did then now. In any case, I never liked Mexico much compared to other countries in the general vicinity. And I don't think much of the Mexican girls either. Their attitudes sucked. Rich Mexico City girls were another story and were very attractive, but generally I did not find much beauty in the average bar girl. As a result of all of this, Mexico remains one of my least favorite countries in Latin America. As to LOS: it is still my favorite country for punting. I have been coming here since '89. I pretty much know my way around and I genuinely like Thai girls. They seem to like me. It may not be the easiest place to break into for newbies anymore, but I still get the 3 hour ST and 18 hour LT plus plenty of GFE. I will probably set up my base camp in BKK when I finally wind things down in the USA and leave that sorry place forever. If I was visiting South East Asia for the first time, I would still come to Thailand first, the PI second, and Phnom Penh a distant third.

Arrived two nights ago and all is good. At the airport, change your money _only_ to the Kasikorn booth by the train station, all the others are scams. I had reserved the Nasa Vegas Hotel for the astounding price of $12, when they don't have any Junior rooms left they will upgrade you automatically, and that was my case. That is just 15 mins away by airport link for Bt 30 fare. Around 1:30am I took a taxi to Sukhumvit for Bt 60, went straight to Insanity, of course using the restaurant door, so I could order my drink if and when I wanted it. A good line is to ask the girls if they have the club card for a discount on drinks, they invariably say yes and will be happy to pass on the discount. The situation was good, sure too many men but what can we do about! Ladies were in regular quantity and quality. The dancers looks seems worst anyway. I took it slow looking all around, one girl would not budge from 2K, good luck to her going home with 0 instead. Another, younger and prettier called Jun, was happy with 1500 and two pops. Outside at the plaza one taxi guy asked 300 Bt for going back, made me have one of the better laughs I had in ages. Just say "meter ok" and that's it.

Jun had very nice attitude and a great small tight body. On the 2nd pop she tries to Thai her way out of it, but deals are deals so she had to oblige naturally. She was not in the mood for long time anyway despite her rent due the following day ar Bt 3800.

Slept very well, check-out 12 am, taxi to Ekkamai bus station to Pattaya where I had to meet the regular and do things. I mean, Thai things.

First time I did this, I thought that I'd died and gone to heaven.

Another good time (for tourists but not for Thais) was in '97 during the great Asian crash. One pound was then worth over 100 baht (don't know what the dollar made) and with hardly any Asian tourists about, girls were desperate for cash from the few western tourists about. You could get a stunner from Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy or the Clinton bar complex (anyone remember that?) long time for 1500 (£15). A presentable girl from Thermae would go long time for 500 baht (£5 or $8!).

There might be also others in the thai customer bars.

All these girls might ask prices very comfortable for the japanese punters, but higher for the western habits.

Seen the prices in Japan I do not see a chance that a japanese girl comes to Thailand to be a WG. They better stay home, earn more money, in a different environment, same language speaking customers (foreigners are not much welcome with japanese WG mainly for a language barrier)
