I like CIs a lot too. But they can be a pain at times. If you do come across some good ones, do pass them on.
Thanks for nice report but no comments on cost and quality of service of CIS. I assume CIS from York are mostly Central Asians?

CIS York
My experience is York has been that most for the CIS are Russians with Uzbek passports (Uzbek Russians) and Moldovans. Of course, many lie about their country of origin. For some reason a Moldovan will tell you she's from anywhere but Moldova. Not sure why. Only when I tell them I like Moldova, do they come clean.
Deon,
Where did you find these great rates from? I could not find the same on ramada website or on any other website.
You should book through www.booking.com. I got AED 235+20% taxes for the Eid holidays. Ramada web site will be always much more.

I guess I am unlucky, have been trying since last week to get a good rate in ramada for the weekend 17th sept. The rates on booking.com is AED 326 +20% and ramada website is slightly higher
Looking for a alternative now
Do you have any recent experience or heard about the present status of Dhow palace hotel (near shertaon mankool road)and rolla residence (opp imperial)being GREEN?
Thanks mate

True - will not be a huge difference, but you have to pay immediately through booking.com, whereas through the ramada website you can cancel the day before without penalty. Handy if your environment has rapidly changing plans / uncertainty

Rolla Residence is surely GF as a friend of mine stayed there last month, but the price will be around AED 400 for a studio. Try Panorama hotel Bur Dubai which is very GF and you should get a room with double occupancy in the range of AED 275. Have nice time,

Hilton
Dear all,
Any recent experiences in the Hilton Creek, Dubai? I understand its girl friendly, but would they be cool in sending the lady to the room? Or would one have to meet the lady in the lobby?
Cheers

Very nice hotel and was GF up until last year. I assume it is still GF. I usually ring and ask the reception before booking.
