Got ripped off at Patpong. BEWARE of those time and money wasters.
27/10 11pm: so I was at the Patpong night market and wandered into the red light areas.
Bikini clad girls obviously catch your eye.
Went to 3 different bars. Don't remember the names. Everyone quotes 2500+ for short time and one pop only.
People even made faces when I asked full night and even though I said am ready to pay for it!
One person said he will take me to a place for 1000 baht per girl and barfine of 500 baht and it would be full night.
I met him on Surawong end on Patpong 1.
He took me to a place called Linda's massage on the second floor of a building at the beginning of Patpong 1.
Unfortunately it was one of those bullshit ping pong show places. I was the only guy in there. They started the music when I went in.
A girl sat besides me and grabbed my cock and another one put her arms around me.
I started talking to them for getting things done for a night and chose two girls. The person who got me there had disappeared by that time.
The girls were happy with $1000 for the night and started running their hands over me.
Then came the mamasan who asked me to come pay the charges before I can take the girls. At counter I spoke with mamasan, a guy, a cashier and the 2 girls.
And this is where I got the shock.
The bill given to me was 3700 baht. 1000 x 2 girls for short time + 200 for a beer + 500 barfine + 1000 for the show (which show?) and more if I wanted full night.
What happened was that while talking to these girls there were few who did some show I wasn't even aware of or asked for.
I realized this was a trap and started talking that this was cheating and I was not here for the sex show. The girls supported me initially.
After about 15-20 minutes of pointless arguing I thought I would take one girl only and pay for the so-called sex show or they won't let me go.
I paid them 1000 for sexshow + 200 for beer + 500 barfine and said I would pay 700 for the girl now (I lied that I was short on cash) and rest once girl comes with me.
The guy was ok and turned to the girl to go with me. And at this point the girl did a complete you- turn and said she won't go at all as she changed her mind. Ditto with the other girl as well (half an hour ago they said how they wanted to fuck me so badly. Hahahaha)
And so I took back the 500 barfine, walked out 1200 baht less and being called names and being gestured at badly. I did not even get to drink the whole beer.
And it does not end here.
Walking past the night market on silom road another guy approached me saying he can take me to a place with no ping pong show and 1500 baht for the night.
I said ok. Went to another place after some walking and was ushered in another empty bar. Got 5 girls only lined up (okay type girls) , I asked how much for the full night, was told 2000 baht and I selected 1 and paid and left with the girl.
Back in the hotel the girl did not shower with me, did not kiss properly, was in an apparent rush, finished sucking for about 3 minutes and fucking for the next 10-12 minutes with 2 positions only. I thought its ok if I have her for the whole night. Then she went to the shower and changed to get ready to go home. WTF.
She says its this way all around Patpong. 2000 for short time and more if I want her to stay (no way after how she performed). I said I spoke to person at the bar who okayed the full night and she said thats not how it works and I need to speak with the girl directly for such things. And she expected me to tip her (which I did because I am a gentleman. Hahaha)
I feel I was lied to and cheated by not only the guys on the road and the pimps but also the girls. Not at all a good experience.
Please be aware the next time you want to go there.
Something is a little different
The biggest change I have found in Bangkok concerning the observance of the mourning period is the inability to buy alcohol in stores prior to 5:00 pm. I will admit that I was caught off guard by this one when I went to check out. I thought they were not selling because I looked too young!
Went to Patpong two nights ago and it seemed normal. Or as normal as it gets in PP. I'm not sure that is true in Nana, I didn't actually go into any of the Nana bars, but there were a LOT of girls on the street along Sukumvit, I guess FL's in front of almost every hotel along the road in the vicinity of Nana. I don't remember seeing them hanging out like that in previous visits. I am staying at the Westin and after dark I had three or four girls approach as soon as I hit the street to walk to Nana.
I didn't notice much action at the Nana plaza area. I guess they were all somewhere else.
Not related to mourning period

This rule largely affects supermarkets and chain shops, such as 7-11 or Tops. It is common knowledge that the law is not always enforced at smaller, family-run shops.
