Its a common fear most harbor. First test is the finger test, use any of our fingers and rest it on the mirror, if you see the tips don't meet on the reflection then the mirror is not two way. This is sure shot & simple way to check.
By turning off the lights and holding up a flashlight to the mirror, you should be able to tell if the mirror is, in fact, two-way glass, because you'd be able to see the other side.
Tap it, two-way glass will make a different sound when tapped with your finger. This is because there likely wouldn't be any framing or support behind two-way glass, making it sound a lot "sharper" when tapped, as you'd imagine a window would sound.
If you 2 mobile phones, ring your phones and check for interference on signals, if you hear a jarring or buzzing sound then there is a wired / wireless recording device nearby, remember old times when you use your cell phone near a landline, you get jarring disturbance.

Initially I used to be scared of visiting SPs and MPs too for many real and imaginary reasons. With time I have realized that.
A. I don't think MP would be interested in targeting you with a video clip. They get enough clientele. Even if your clip were to get leaked on the net, it is a vast space for anyone to know.
