Which is what makes it so difficult to advise the newbies. I had a guy completely freak out walking behind Veracruz when a girl tried to grab him. Couldn't get him out of there fast enough. Other guys, that's the best place to hunt.

The FKKs are definitely an easy place to burn money. I normally try to not overspend (for multiple reasons). However, my one FKK experience I spent about $550 USD in one day / night. The only other time close to that was an evening in Sao Paulo (about $400).

Over many years in this hobby, I've learned that paying more doesn't give you a better experience. And the more you throw around money, the more likely you are to find trouble.

For every guy who posts reviews, trip reports and helpful information there's 5 guys who only ask questions and never post anything useful. For every 1 guy that only posts questions there's 100 guys who read the messages but never post anything. Most of them never will visit another country. They just fantasize about it.

Let's put them aside for a minute. The guys who do post reports you can get an idea about them. Most are basically decent people. If one of them asks for a recommendation I have a good idea on whether or not to give them a number and who is most likely to be a good match. If the girl I recommend runs into a problem with him, and that has happened, I know who is the problem.

Now that group of lurkers, I know nothing about any of them, except they are completely anonymous. If I post a girl's information for everyone to see, she's likely to start having problems. Some guy might start sending her threats, or make her waste her time and money coming to see him, when he's not even in the country. Some guy might get her to send a few pictures and then send them to her mother.

Truth is, too many of the lurkers are assholes. Why make it easier for them to mess up someone's life?

If you want to get started with Facebook, read the forum. You will find links to Facebook pages, plus more than one tutorial on how to build a list of Facebook friends. If you want specific links, start posting some trip reports and reviews.

Every place has its slumps, ups and downs. Those prices never seem to go down however.

At least 20 girls presented themselves, and none piqued my interest. I've never liked that you can't chat with them first, but at least before, the quality of looks made up for that. Interestingly, at some of the Centro casas, they've let me converse a bit with the girls before choosing, but at Energy, they wouldn't allow that.
