I have visited darkroom 2 times and both times where good. First time was a mulatta Bruninha, very good body and session. Next day same place negra Rebeca even better. Those girls have the kind of bodies I like. Not too big, soft skin, natural breasts, minimal makeup. The place is not great but I can compromise when the girls are good. Can be a long wait sometimes to get into the showers.
Next day I went too Bel Prazer, Emporiho do banor, Sexy hot massagens, Dany massagem, Studio zen, Sexy house, Imperio do Prazer. All places have same prices (nearly). When you walk into some of those establishments the receptionist looks and behaves like one of her children died recently. Most of them should probably get another job. Only 2 had girls I would consider. Studio Zen have good looking girls but the place have massage tables that you have sex on. Not recommended. I tried but if you are a midget perhaps it will satisfy your needs.
There was a slight mix-up then I chose the girl. I wanted a negra but the receptionist must have misunderstood and sent me a light skinned one. It was not good. Bad oral technique and I noticed she did not like too fuck. Sometimes it takes me along time too come especially if the girl is the opposite to GFE style. Sucking her breasts was a no go because she pulled away the nipple every time I tried like she was starving her own baby.
After some time she started pointing to her watch like there was short time left while we where in missionary. I did eventually come and later I asked her why she had pointed to her watch and she said I had started to hurt her because of too much fucking. I will not complain though, I am grateful some girls are doing that kind of work.
The last place I checked was Imperio do Prazer. They had girls that reminded me of Bruninha and Rebeca. Will probably try it tomorrow. And visit more places from GPArena.
The quality of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired at most places, decent aircon seems to be a luxury. I have realized that from all the girls I greeted the negras seems most enthusiastic. My aim of this journey is to see was Brazil can provide that I can not get in Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Madagascar) where I usually go. Generally I am more attracted to black then white.
What about Balcony Bar? When did that come onto the scene?
I believe it was open before Help closed 2010 maybe by a few years but didn't become popular until Help closed. It was a good location next to dolce vita which also didn't become popular until Help closed. Both of them together was like a mini Help / terraco Atlantico.
What about Balcony Bar? When did that come onto the scene?
Believed it opened sometime in 2006 and ran until Feb 2015.
Like Mab's, it had some decent FL talent, from time to time, but nothing stellar on a consistent basis.
But for me, it was a good place (and close enough to home/apt/hotel) to hang out for a few drinks, during a nice evening or early morning (ie. 2am - 4am) stroll, up and down Av. Atlantica.

There is an interesting university paper, 200 pages, about the monger scene in Copacabana, Balcony, sex hungry gringos and how the police worked trying to close some establishments. The paper is a PDF. You find it if you Google: Dossiê "Mobilidades Turísticas" 23.
As you might remember Dolce Vita used to be Holiday, another sex club that seemed like a rip-off joint.
IMO one of the biggest losses in Rio was the Praça Mauá scene. Strip clubs at Florida Bar and Bar Escandinava, not to forget the great Filippino Bar across the street. Great fun!
Florida Bar had great strip tease, dildo shows and once I saw a live sexshow. Many beautiful strippers. You could session upstairs, in motel Puma next door or bring them back home. They charged much less and sometimes went for free (like some Help girls also did).
This Miami playboy said it best in this video. Who is using who in the older man younger woman dynamic. BTW he is dead now and wasn't able to even spend all his money before he died.
What about Balcony Bar? When did that come onto the scene?
It was a great Last shot location for picking up a female who hadn't secured a client for the evening in the mid 2000's. Plus, it was the good spot to have a few drinks and watch the sun come up since it was open all night.
Good report.

I got to check out a few places while I was in town a few weeks ago. I really liked Eden Spa. The setup was fine, nothing to write home about. I chose Mirela a short blanca. Pretty vanilla but lots of GFE and she was in to it. Talked afterwards in my bad Porto, but overall was a good time.
Also stopped in to Dark Room. It was during the day so maybe the line-up wasn't the best. Ended up choosing a mulatta, but made the mistake of not asking if she had kids. Still, she gave up the booty and had a good enough time. I know folks really like Darkroom so I'll have to give it a try when I'm back next month. I'll be moving there so I'll have to connect with the crew.
My first foray into Rio was 1990 and was just blow away literally and figuratively, at the debauchery and sheer number of sex venues, littered all up and down Atlantic Ave. So I can only image the totally unhinged version in the 1980's
I'll never forget walking into some of the bars and literally getting a blow job for the price of a couple of bears and the copious amount of unhindered "open air" sex, groping and fingering with scantily dressed girls in bikinis, was unreal. Or having a drink, while some guy, a few feet away, was openly fucking (or getting blown) by some hottie (and they weren't all dark corner club hideouts). It was fickin' amazing!
Thanks for the nostalgia, even though it irks some BMs, I for one and relish and welcome the historical POV, from those who witnessed greatness back in the day..
Help Disco and the Copacabana was a victim of its own success sort of speak. The advent of the internet likely made it too popular for it too persist. Of course, the World Cup and Olympics accelerated the push to clean-up Copacabana.
Before the internet, Rio was basically a word of mouth thing. Sure, American men were aware of the SE Asian playgrounds. When I was coming up the ranks, Rio was more of a mystery. We knew about tan, bikini-clad Brazilian women. We didn't hear much of the Rio sex scene until word trickled back.
Circa 2000 and now the internet spreads word quickly and far. I distinctly remember meeting four mid-twentysomething Midwestern guys with a clear lack of game having the time of their lives. If the internet helped these guys find and navigate Copacabana, I suspect young Brazilian girls were also receiving news and updates quickly. Help Disco was establishing a reputation globally and throughout Brazil.
There were of course the smokin' dark-skinned Cariocas of various shades strutting and shaking their bundas in the disco. When Centaurus consistently had some of the best talent, their girls would routinely stroll into Terraço Atlântico after their shift. You were crazy if you didn't lock them down before they went into the disco. Blondes and redheads navigated their way from the South organizing in two, threes and fours likely utilizing the internet to organize an apartment near Posto 5 in Copa. There were the famous Mineira beauties just from the near North. Paulistas were abundant, but I found they were more mercenaries than Cariocas. Many a Carioca would simply want to dance and drink then deliver you a great night of sex and then some into the morning. I think the term GFE was invented to describe Cariocas.
As far as the quality of talent, I think that many nights the top tier rivaled that of the top boates in São Paulo. These girls would ask top dollar and get it. I think what venerated Help for so many of us were the sweet, simple girls. They were attractive in ways beyond their looks even if they weren't one of the hottest girls in the club. They were just trying to have a good time while making some cash. Which brings me to cash, the cover charge and the drinks were very reasonable. It was actually quite surprising how affordable a night at Help Disco could be.

Tijuana, you are really good at asking a lot of questions. We are looking forward to your reports about Rio.
Have fun!

I think for those hobbyists, that participated in Brazil during the 1980's, 1990's and to a lesser extent 2000's and present day, it's important to remember that Brazil is a burgeoning young democracy, that had in 1985, just emerged from an authoritarian military regime of 20 years. Brazil's current constitution was ratified and promulgated in 1988 and held it's first democratic elections in 1989, since the coup in 1964.
Yes, Brazil/Rio was somewhat of a mystery, shrouded in a sketchy political regime, that had it pegged as a dangerous place to visit. Political uncertainty, corruption, violence, police brutality and street gangs robbery and killings (and still today, not much as changed), it's not surprising that most tourists stayed away. Why get mugged, robbed, beaten up or killed, when you can spend a safe and relaxing vacation in Hawaii (I'm sure it a lovely destination, but I've never been and it's not on my buck list. So I may never visit...my loss!)
So naturally, most of the North American media (travel agents), for a long time did not rate Brazil as a safe place to vacay. And I do remember getting lots of warnings about safety in Brazil (and I do mean lots), when I was booking my first trip in 1990. I played it as safe as I could and booked your typical package deal (flight + hotel), with a few city tours thrown-in for good measure (ie. Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, Botanical Gardens), not too mention our designated cutie tour guide re-selling scalped and over priced Carnaval tickets, to us, gullible tourists.

Yeah, fair or not...but (somewhat) pre-internet, when Help discotheque got featured in several infamous John Stagliano/Buttman and Evil Angel videos (among others), over the years leading up to it's demise in 2010, those videos, didn't exactly do a whole lot to enhance it's optics, as a "good neighborhood" business in the upstanding community of Copa. Ahrrr well....what's one to do? Infamy has its price.
On the flip side, Buttman videos are partially to blame for my Brazilian Brasileira Booty addiction. Throw in a mix of WSG (former ISG) reports and the lore of naked women dancing samba in Carnaval as the greatest party in the world and you're "hooped/fucked" and no doubt forever on that pussy treadmill to Brazil...kkkk!
You highlight some of the great points/moments of the 2000s and I couldn't agree more as those moments/events are indelibly, forever imprinted on my soul. So perhaps like yourself, is it any wonder as to why we fondly reminisce and share such vintage and nostalgic experiences, the likes of which we may never see again.
But no doubt, its time to hit the Brazilian trail again and make new memories, post COVID. So upward and onward, as any good hobbyist should adapt to the changing times.
Rio is he greatest mongering destination in the world. Period. Everywhere else is like a stepchild. The termas can't be beat, and the raw sexual energy of the girls is unmatched. I can only imagine what it would have been like to go through my teen years, and have access to so many hotties in the 80's when I was 18 years old and 155 pounds. All I had was the movie Blame It On Rio which is still my guilty pleasure.
Dear Friends,
It's several years (more then ten) I miss from Brazil. I've seen the situation has changed, was used to Help and Meia Pataca. I know how to get girls, but at the moment I do not know how the hotels are: I mean if they are girl friendly.
In the past I used to stay at Othon Olinda (a small hotel in the middle of Copacabana, good but not luxurious). Now it has changed chain, and I would like to go to some big and better one. I thought about Rio Othon and Hilton. Any suggestion? Are they girl friendly? Anybody knows.
By the way I find fantastic the website https://www.photoacompanhantes.com It changes very fast and you should use it after 16:00 - 18:00 local time so you see new ads.
IT.
