Now they seem to think LT seems means "I'm a complete idiot who prefers to pay double for ST".

My time is very short this visit, might get 2 nights maximum. When I'm not in Thailand I can get comparable price and quality of not-quite-stunners, so the experience of one of those top 5 there is nice for a change.

Wow, great report. If I get enough time I will try to check some of these places out too. Way back when, some time around 2000, these were the very first places I saw in Bangkok. It was my first time in Asia, and long story short a taxi driver took me to a hotel up there when the one I wanted in Sukhumvit was booked, and I saw some of these places on my way to the hotel, which was right around the corner from them. I was completely green at the time, had never been with a working girl at all, so I didn't go check them out. I've always been curious but also have been too short of time when in BKK to risk an evening for just there, and it is pretty secluded. Now with What's a good time to go, any idea?

Hey guys, I have received a lot of PM's about Saphan Kwai which tells me many of us are looking for something new and different. I will answer all PM's, but here is a follow up to the original post and a clarification of sorts.

First and foremost, the Saphan Kwai Bar Scene is a Thai entertainment area. At least 90% of the customers are Thai guys in their late 20's / early 30's. Farangs are welcome and treated fairly, but understand this: Saphan Kwai is their ballpark, their rules, and their girls. Don't come here if you are not appreciative of this fact and are not willing to play it their way. The girls are young and friendly although their English speaking skills are very low. You may be a girl's 1st or 20th Farang as opposed to an RB4 girl, who only caters to foreign visitors, where you can be the girl's 1000th Farang. So don't expect a lot of the Sukhumvit extra bells and whistles like A+, rim jobs, cum in mouth, or ménage a trois. Things are real simple and straightforward here, but at the same time, do not expect to see spoiled, bad attitude, bad behavior here either. It is just straight old fashion sex with a little kissing and maybe a BBBJ thrown in. Don't expect multiple shots. ST is 1 hour or 1 pop whichever comes first. My girl was very sweet and she showed no inclination to rush back to the bar to find another customer. So I had a real good time. LT here means multiple pops, so I would guesstimate a LT session would last 2 or 3 hours, but no longer. The game is always played at their ST Hotel across the street. You are not going to be able to change this unless you become a regular customer and friends with one of the mamasans. If you became a regular, I think more things would be possible and they would loosen up and let you take a girl back to your hotel. Everything in the bar is pretty cheap, but they have a few mandatory extras not found in Sukhumvit Go Go's. For example, beer comes only in the large 640ml bottles for around 100bt, but you will also be charged 10bt for a cold towel and 25bt for a bucket of ice. Don't argue and say you don't want these extras. And like I reported before, there is an 80bt sitting fee per girl for every 30 minutes she spends at your table. There are no lady drinks. Don't quibble! A night out just drinking and watching the show in the company of a cute girl in one of these bars is far less expensive than a night out in any Nana / Cowboy Go Go. And by the way, there is no Cowboy 2 step shuffle here. The girls actually dance!

So why go? To try something different, to have fun in a different bar setting with a real Thai urban middle class/working class culture, and to spend time with a kind of Thai working girl that we are normally not used to. Obviously this area is not for all punters, but I enjoyed it and I know some of you guys will too.

To get there either take a taxi or take the BTS Sukhumvit line to Saphan Kwai Station. Exit the station and walk south the way you came along the east side of Phahonyothin Road. Turn left at the first intersection which is Sutthison Winitchai Road. Walk a few blocks down and you will come to the bars. It is a good neighborhood. No problems. I think the best time to go is around 10:30 to 11pm to get a good seat. All the girls will be there by 11pm. The bars close at 3am. I think Friday and Saturday night would be the best night to come and see the bars rocking with the most excitement and customers, but Thursday night might be the best night to come and find the right girl. Have fun fellow explorers.

I have found one report that suggests you might get into a lot of sh*t if caught.

I've heard about Saphan Kwai and it sounds interesting with pretty girls with good attitudes at cheaper prices. But there is something about the bright lights of Nana and Cowboy that keeps dragging me back whenever I'm in Bangkok. I like to try new places though so on my next trip early next year I may well check it out.

I've been coming to BKK quite a lot but I normally just get my girls in massage parlours or pick them up in clubs. This forum has been helpful in showing me how to approach girs here along with their prices.

I just have a couple of questions though, do girls work in hotels? As in to they only hang out around certain hotels rather than at Nana plaza or Soi Cowboy, and is there a way to tell which ones are working ones?

Also is there anywhere in BKK where girls from different ethnicities hang out, such as Indian, White or Black? I would really like to have one of those if possible.

I just can't imagine getting searched for vitamin V.

Some on Sukhumvit in front of the Landmark, some in front of Hotels in Soi 7/1. Those are only a few examples. They will generally be obvious and or will approach you and ask if you want company. Look them in the eye and they will likely smile and approach you.

Walk down Sukhumvit between Soi 5 and 11 and you will likely see Black women. Last night a Russian women asked me if I wanted company. She was sitting outside of the Starbucks on the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 7/1. These are just a few examples.

Thanks guys[/QUOTE]You can buy ED drugs at a lot of Pharmacies. One I used is on Sukhumvit near Soi 4. If you are on Soi 4 and walking towards Sukhumvit turn right and it will be within a few steps on the right. You have to be looking for it as it may not be so obvious.

I do not believe there are any problems with bringing ED drugs to Thailand. Taking them home without a prescription could get you in deep sh*t.

My flight is two days from now and every time I check the Bangkok post website it scares the hell out of me.

First there were the yellow shirts in protest, now the red seems to be getting into the action and not to forget the courts (they seem to be adding fuel to fire)

I feel time is ripe for all tourists to hold a protest rally of their own "please let us monger in peace" we'll take the girls along too.

On a serious note, all you guys already in BKK. Please advice what the situation is like and seems to be developing for the next weeks.

Do not want to be confined to my Soi 11 hotel.
