Sosua Reports

I pay around $300 which is less than half of the flight to Puerto Plata. I have a taxi driver picking me up from airport for 1300 pesos and I go straight to Metro bus station trying to catch 4 PM bus. It is express and it takes about 3. 1/2 hours to Puerto Plata. It is good bus, comfortable and good ride. Last time when I was there all seats were sold for 4 PM bus and I had to wait for 5 PM bus. But I have learnt a small trick when I was waiting for 5 PM bus. There may be available seats even if all seats were sold out. You wait next to the door to bus until 4 PM and all passengers are inside of the bus. They let other passengers into bus who are waiting to fill all available seats.

I fly directly to POP east coast for $275 one way on american arrive at 230. Return trip from POP is pricey so I fly back on another airline out of Santiago or SD both have good pricing and time options.

From what I know, the 4 pm goes to sosua, not the 5 pm.

Thanks in advance, and please check out my trip reports for Berlin and Medellin.[/QUOTE]If you land at 3 pm you're probably going to miss the 4 pm bus to Sosua on Metro, but Caribe tours has a 5, 6 and 7 pm bus. Caribe drops a little ways outside of Sosua, so you'll need a cab, or a moto if you don't have much luggage.

Depending on your time in The DR you might want to stick in SD and catch the first Metro bus to Sosua in the morning.

One suggestion. Bring a light jacket for the bus. They keep the A / see cranked.

The 4 pm metro bus from SD goes all the way to Sosua as does the 7 am,11 am metro buses the other metro buses end in Puerto Plata. Carib tours leave hourly and end in Charmicos.

I counted the time from the point of me headed towards semana. If you have plans to take a bus to your destination. I will fly into Santiago if I'm going to sosua. Or take car for the hour and a half Drive. I would take a bus only if I can get there by the afternoon. A lot of flights come in red eye from my location. Arriving in Santiago after 7 can be a problem. The last bus leaves at 9 headed towards the Sue. A cab can run you between 75 + 125. But it's worth it if you're short on time. If I'm good on time I fly into Santo Domingo. Bus it or rent a car. Depending on my plans to the East.

I can't seem to find that deal. Where are you flying out of. I thought only those Upstate fellows DC and above have those prices.

Not sure if it can be done from ATL. I checked and it is 475 one way from the Atl
