Yet, I don't find Korean food weird, as I have tried it many times. Just to add to your list, I also like Galbi, Soondoboo, and Haemoul Pajaan. Galbi is a delicious plate of ribs, Soondoboo is their staple soup and I like the one with seafood (Haemoul). HP is like a pizza with seafood.

They were full of groups of young Korean men with their instant girlfriends. As a single person, I didn't feel like going in.

Kimchi is a good example. I do not dislike it but I do not really like it either. It's just odd food IMHO.

The upshot is that action in Cebu has deteriorated, in particular at Mango Plaza, and the dishonest practices of hotels there.

The report is from a resident of the Philippines and many time visitor to Cebu and addresses recent changes there. Bottom line is there are many places better to visit and spend your travel dollar than this City for a number of reasons.

Living in Dumaguete, I can also tell you that it also has gotten much worse, not even worth a day trip.

Reading the reports on Angeles City also the prices are way up and the opportunities way down. In short other countries than the Philippines may be worth more consideration. The only plus to the Philippines is the ease with which many women bed in spite of the overall poor quality.

I don't know what yours are, all I can say is I have lived here several years and witnessed the scene from different perspectives. I currently have a live in g / f, gwapa and hot body, so it's easy for me to say now to hookers with bad teeth, fat, fugly and hard core attitudes. I don't need to pay for sex in my present circumstances and will only do so if the girl is offering something special at a good price.

The reports I mentioned in my last post are comparison from what has been true the last 10 years or so. I am sure there are good opportunities in Cebu, but, IMO, best prepped from online contacts than from day or night time game. The data is there and Cebu has a high HIV rate for the Philippines. Dumaguete is much safer but much less action here. The bad, expensive hotels in Cebu are enough to stop anyone for whom "money is no object" visiting. Your monger dollar is much better spent elsewhere.

Currently I am looking at Colombia and other Latin American destinations. Not quite as cheap as the P. I. But for my tastes, much better quality, especially if your looking for a more mature (30's) lady who actually has a brain in contrast to most young Filipinas here available to us old guys. It's simply not true that Filipinas desire older, fat, bald, fugly and degenerate men, which is the majority of the foreigners here in Dumaguete. They only want your money and only because they are poor and have not other opportunities (or think they don't). BTW, I don't belong to the above category, except for the age part. I still get called gwapo, but not nearly as much after my 50's.

Unless your're willing to spend a lot of time searching online, the freelance or semi-pro scene in Cebu is simply not worth it, IMO.

I did not go there for the girls, I went there because they have one of the best medical labs I have ever visited, better than any in the USA Simple checkup.

Cebu sucks. Almost as bad as Manila for traffic. Does not have the wide selection of women of Manila. The only advantage is that it used to be cheap, but no more, hotels are ripping people off there.

Thailand is out because Thailand is schizophrenic about tourists. They keep bragging and asking you to come at the same time making visa renewal a royal PITA. Plus I can get a g / f here without learning Thai. Thailand was actually my first choice and I was learning Thail until I found out about the visa situation there. But I agree Thailand is better if you can sort out your visa situation for long term.

I am comfortable and relatively happy here. I have a servant that waits on my hand and foot and a gwapa Cebuano g / f. Am I ecstatically happy and satisfied? NO. But the grass is always greener on the other side. Re: negativity. I call it as I see it. Too much BS on the net and much of it is profit driven about the Philippines.

I'm just leaving Coron. Should anyone want to come for a dive and a play be sure to BYO from Cebu or Manila.

Mongering wasn't high on my list here so I didn't do much (ie any) preplanning or organisation. When I arrived I pulled out the old faithfuls and found one (yes count 'them, one) girl on tinder and another on WeChat. Cupid and Pina had several girls in Palawan but most were in P Princesa.

For those with time or Game there are lots of cuties in the tourist shops and Euro Trash backpackers.

In summary: a good place to bring a special friend for a couple of days but you wouldn't rely on finding anyone here during a short stay.

Coron has good snorkeling and diving, some water falls, chocolate hills etc. All very selfie ready for her. It's a very small place, has a good vibe but you would be looking for things to do after a week.

My understanding us that Nido has more to do but is a little more commercial and manufactured.

It flies between Clark and El Nido. Prices seem reasonable if you buy several weeks in advance. But that's a problem if you want to find girl in Angeles for the trip. I might have to pay the last minute airfare.
