my first post, however been looking in for some time. the reason i have not posted previously was due to the lack of anything to add. i have been going to cartagena for 5 years and love going back. i will be in cartagena on april 23rd. april 30th.

why am i telling you all this? well, it shows that a rookie can make the big jump without realizing what is in store for him. secondly. you can never fully understand a colombiana. i love her dearly, but oh the stress she has put me through. when i retire, we will move into our cartagena apartment and open a small store.

i will still enjoy myself, just as long as her friends do not see me. when i am away from her, her friends tell her everything i do before i even get back in the door.

my wife is good to me and when we visited cartagena for a few weeks, she had to go to monteria to bring her mother to cartagena. well, the night she left, i was sitting on the balcony in the caribe real building when the phone rang. it was a friend of my wife's and another girl. luz marie and selena were 21 years old with long black hair. both built about the same 5'6" 115 lbs with killer smiles. they tell me to get cleaned up and we headed out to santo domingo sq. i always enjoy going there and talking with the staff at one of the restaurants. after dinner and a few drinks, we headed over to one of the clubs and enjoyed dancing and shared a bottle of buchanans. there were 4 other girl friends that showed up and we drank some more, danced and i got to grope and feel up 6 girls at different times. two had light brown hair and about 5'2' and 100 lbs, the other two were a bigger girls, but still with nice asses. two left, but met up with us again at the after hours club at 2:00 am. i am 50 years old and had no idea where i was getting the energy, but at 4:00 marie luz took my hand and waved the other 5 girls to follow. we all jumped in a couple of taxis and headed to the apartment. the poor guy at the front desk was sleeping, but quickly came to life when he saw six girls with one guy.

it took me a while to comprehend everything and gather my wits. i then saw it was almost noon and my wife would be back at two. i grabbed a shower and straightened up the apartment and burnt a different candle to freshen up the apartment. my wife arrived with her mother and the two of them wanted to grab a bite to eat, so we headed to risquimo. my wife leaned over to me and asked me if i had a good time the night before and winked at me. she had arranged for marie luz to make sure i was not bored while she was gone. she set the whole thing up with her two friends, but did know about the other four.

the rest of out time in cartagena, i had one big smile. we went to the casino one night and marie luz was there and she had no problem greeting us with hugs and kisses. it was about 5 minutes later, they took off to the bathroom and they were in there about 15 minutes. i thought i was dead meat. but soon after my wife leans into me kisses me and ask me if i had a match; she needed to light a candle. she laughed her ass off. needless to say, i am totally in love with this woman and can not wait to find out what is in store for me in a few weeks. only in colombia!

when i return i will post a message and hopefully have some photos. this time i will skip the booze so my memory is fresh.

I hadn't been back to Colombia in over a year but went this week for 5 days or so. I flew into Cartagena and rented with Juan. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment of his for 2 nights. Taxi is still 15,000 pesos from the airport to Laguito.

Hit one of the public beaches just short of Las Americas (15,000 pesos each way). Did not get charged for seats/tent rental. I made like I was going to walk away when he was asking too much for accomodations. Not many tourists that I saw in the area. I had been there before. I recommend that area instead of Cartagena / Bocagrande - can't stand the touts.

We hit the old city a few times. There is a Hard Rock Cafe there that we were going to try. I was really disappointed with it. Was expecting something glamorous. We walked out without eating there. Place was dead. Wouldn't be shocked if it went out of business. Is supposed to be expensive.

Went to LDV once with my GFE and the place was still dead around 10-11pm. We had a few drinks and left. Only a handfull of girls at that time were there.

I brought with me my GFE and was glad I did. I had a lot more fun with someone to do things with that I trust. We caught a private company's bus to Santa Marta (Rodadero - beach) for 2 nights. Bus company screwed up and didn't mark us as Rodadero so we didn't get off the bus until Santa Marta then had to backtrack. 2 nights was 160,000 pesos plus 9000 more at the fron desk for a 2 bedroom apartment. We used the pool on the 21st floor which turned out well.

The local restaurant in Rodadero I liked in the past was closed ("Tropical" or something). Ended up getting a taxi and he took us to another tourist beach area on the other side of some moutains of Santa Marta - sorry, don't recall the name. Very nice view from the mountain pass overlooking the water. The restaurant we ate at was overpriced and ran out of almost everything. We couldn't get out of there quick enough.

We drank at a place in Rodadero called "Tienda de Oso" a few times - about 2 blocks off the beach. Was cheap and did the trick.

When we got ready to leave, I decided to take a taxi back to Cartagena's airport. Was a combination of a mis-trust of the travel company and wanting more control over schedule, etc. A slick taxi driver that got a tip tried to get our business. He acted like he was a friend of a taxi driver (from he trip to to the other beach) that we were waiting for. The other taxi driver showed up right in time. Who knows what could have happened with him. Total cost back to the airport from Rodadero - 250,000 pesos. The bus is normally 3x,xxx pesos per person each way.

As usual, got searched big time leaving Cartagena. I fit whatever profile they are looking for.

However, the posts here regarding LDV are all over the map; it seems as if LDV is, at the same time, both THE place to go for Chicas in CTG and also, a huge scam party for gringos where beautiful girls charge a fortune for unfriendly and inadequate service. So, which is it? Has LDV really become so commercial that it's not worth going there, or is it just that it's not what it used to be, so peoples' disappointment with the decline of value is showing in their posts?

Other options in Cartagena are worse value for money than LDV. LDV itself is a bit of a crap shoot. Because the chica is a complete freelancer, you have no consistency of service.

Because you often state that you're not so interested in value, more in getting what you seek with a minimum of fuss. You may want to try Isis in the old city, or Pleyboy in el Bosque.

Elektra is only good from about 3am to 4am, so you probably won't be interested in that place.

I usually pull girls out of LDV for 100k, short time. You could consider this a floor price. Sometimes I get fantastic service, sometime it's crap. All depends on attitude of the girl, chemistry and luck.

Excellent advice... thank you! I'll be with a friend, and we're not going to want to be traveling around looking for Chicas all night, or looking to replace ones we've taken for a short time. What I'd like to do is find 3 girls at LDV that first night, that my friend and I both like, and take them back to the apartment for the whole night (for BOTH of us), and the morning (till, say 11:00 AM), and then let them go home.

What do you think about offering them each 250K to come back to the apartment to us for the night through late morning, and promising another 150K bonus to each one who stays until 11:00 AM and never says "No"? That seems to work both with your advice, and with mine and my friend's objectives.

I know a guy in Medellin who says he can bring absolutely beautiful girls to Cartagena from Medellin for a few days, and he says there's a number of advantages to doing this:

1. The Pros in CTG are spoiled by all the tourist dollars, and the girls he would bring wouldn't be. So they'll have a much better attitude and still be more reasonably priced.

2. There's a number of universities in Medellin full of girls who would be happy to do this, but might hesitate doing it in Medellin, where they live.

3. The girls will be on vacation, just like we are, so they won't have shit they have to do, or homes they need to go to, or stuff they need to tend to, while they're in CTG, unlike the pros in CTG, who'll have their lives to get back to each day.

4. He'll be able to, doing this, get younger, prettier girls.

So, I'm interested in all opinions regarding this option. At first glance, it looks like a real good approach.

I would personally try to avoid the coke girls though as odds are they are trouble. There are a lot of them that do it though so it's a crap shoot.

I'm no Cartagena regular, but took my first trip a couple months ago. Having read your post yesterday, and having read a lot of your posts about travels in E. Europe and Latin America, my first thought was that you may be more interested in Pleyboy and Isis than some of the other another forum'ers here. I can speak to the latter, which is not as well covered as some of the other options.

I am only familiar with Isis. I resisted every taxi driver's insistence that he take me to Pleyboy (they must pay taxis well, eh? ). I met Isis's owner (a Texan) and, having spent several nights there, I get the impression that you might not have the "standard of service" issue that could come from a random LDV chica (though the post below seems like a wonderful gameplan to hedge performance risk and motivate independent chicas). Isis is a pricey joint, though. Expect 1. 5. 2 hours to run 200k. 250k and overnight to run a lot more. Like double those rates. From talking to the girls there, the price is roughly fixed (you pay the house after negotiating with the girl. So the house knows what the girl agrees to) and the idea is to keep this a high $$ establishment. Not to win the loving praise of another forum-goers. High $$, means this is a good job for the girls who work there and that means that this place has its pick of the talent.

So everyone (except us) is working to keep prices up at Isis. All here know there are plenty of fellas down in CTG that will pay those prices. At least enough to support a 20-chica disco in the old city. I liked what I saw though, and performance of the my small sample was very nice.

I was in Ctg the week of Semana Santa and here is the quick recap:

LDV was considerably emptier than any other time that I had visited Cartagena. We normally walk in for a drink between 11 and midnight and this trip the place was practically dead every night.

On to Electra. The ratio of men to women was 10:1. This is not exaggerating. Of the available women there were fewer attractive ones than in previous trips.

Conclusion for those traveling for strictly P4P the weekend of Semana Santa: yes there is some action, there are always Toni's beach girls, but in my opinion this is the worst week out of the year to be in Cartagena for P4P. This may have to do with that it is a religious holiday.

On the positive note the place is packed with families and regular girls, including Chileans, Peruvians, etc. Good vibes and clubs are packed. Not one establishment was closed that week. That includes Mr Babilla, Babar was packed every night (though not my favorite club), a good club for electronic/house music is Mantra (on the same block where Mr Babilla is located). For some reason Joys Lava was always dead though, we checked it out 2 or 3 nights and walked right out.

Regarding the apartment we rented a new 3 bedroom from Juan in the building next to El Riquissimo Apt 1203 or 1204 - a brand new 3 bedroom with plazma and surround sound system, no balcony but a nice place, waterfront - recommended if you are traveling in a group of 3 and need to stay together.
