But "a price quoted" is not necessarily "a price paid". Only two years ago I found a girl from Suzie Wong willing to go LT for 1500 baht (+ 600 baht BF) only. But then again I have paid 3000 baht for LT in that same establishment as well. Everything will depend: do you still have time enough to go and hunt elsewhere? Then do so! A university graduate in the Uk can get £25, 000 / year; an uneducated tart can make four / five times that for half a year's work. Tax free. It is true the distortion in Thailand is greater but that is because it is moving from a low paid day worker agrarian economy to a more mixed economy.

This is true for sex; it is also true for entry into the National Palace.

While some individuals may overpay, when there is a free market supply and demand will always result in a "fair" price. We all know the Ratchada soapies apply a farang surcharge, and my experience frequenting these establishments is some of the ladies absolutely do not want to go with a farang while other are willing because they will get a couple hundred extra bahts. The Thai men at upper class Soapies are paying considerably more than 1K for girls whose looks are not that special (to my eye) and whose performance is also not that special. There are relatively few all natural great lookers (I am quite fussy) in these places and they go for a lot more than 1K for Thai customers.
