First off, the scene is scattered all over an enormous (and gridlocked) city, without a strong concentration of venues anywhere.
Most of the scene is heavily pimped (at all levels, including streetwalkers), and pimps / mamasans are in-your face and pushy, so you feel they're selling you a piece of meat. One thing I like about Pattaya is that you're usually interacting freely with the girl, what happens is between you and her, and it could lead anywhere: short time, long time, mini vacation, or in the old days even marriage. In Jakarta, you're usually just paying a middleman for a limited service by a girl who might not be that happy to be there and sometimes doesn't care to pretend.
Service and attitudes in big places like Travel or Classic are abysmal, but if you just want good looking girls for cheap (400 k idr, under 1000 baht), it might work for you (looks are solid, agogo level). Smaller massage places (like Berlian or Kartika) have girls that are not as pretty, but give better service at the same price. Finding GFE in Jakarta is more difficult than in Pattaya and LT is less common (at least on the low end). I'd say what you'd consider "standard" level of friendliness and service in Pattaya would be a "great find" in Jakarta.
Moreover, most the scene is oriented towards locals, not westerners, so some places might be outside an average Farang's comfort zone. The "freelancers" who primarily target westerners (at BATS, CJ) are few and far between and ask silly money for Indonesia (like 2 mil idr = 5000 baht). No idea if they deliver service-wise, but many are older and don't look worth the exceptional price.
Honestly, I think the value of Jakarta (as of 2018) is in chasing regular girls, perhaps with a few low-expectation low-cost hooker bangs in between. Westerners are still rare in Jakarta (good reasons for that, it's not an appealing or easy city), and Indonesians still look up to us quite a bit. On a few occasions, I've seen some rather derelict Western specimens out with Indo girls that are true stunners (level of looks you couldn't even find in Pattaya). It's not exactly hard to meet regular locals, but it takes more time and effort, some game, or at least enough audacity.
If you want a scene fairly similar to Pattaya, I think only Angeles City fits the bill.

Compared to Thailand the working girls are overpriced. I personally prefer to interact with the Thai working girls. When I go to Indonesia, usually Bali, I go for the holiday with sex with on the side when I get it as a bonus. In Thailand I go purely for the sex and if I see any interesting sights it's a bonus.

But I think this is not for me. I can generally squeeze out a week at most for holidaying before going back to the grind so local girls courtship is out due to lack of time. Also the mechanical experience is kind of a turn off, I have ALWAYS had GFE in Pattaya the girls are really into the process what can I say. At some level I'd go for 7-8/10 girl with great service rather than 10/10 with non GFE service. So I guess Pattaya is back on, if any of you guys will be there in October end let me know let's catch up for a beer. Angeles City for sure next year.
Went to Sabai Dee on 2nd Road, North Pattaya around 11 pm last night. I was surprised by the lack of girls there, maybe only around 12 or so. The guy on staff said that the girls with the Red or Blue badges were 2000 baht, and those with the yellow badges were 2400 baht. This sounded good to me so I chose a girl with a Blue badge.

Go go bars at LK Metro, Walking Street, Beach Road and a couple of soapy massage parlors, but one thing always bugged me. I generally have nothing to do in the city till 8 in the night, any mongering or just fun place where you can sit and chat with girls and take things forward if you wish. Just feel like I got nothing to do but sleep till the sun goes down.

I usually try to amuse myself with girls from TF with my friends around the hotel pool before 3 pm.
I think those bars on soi 8 close to beach road have a higher bar fine of 500 thb. I was in one and it did. The woman told me they all did as the rent there was high.

When I take friends to the soapy and ask the guy about my tip for bringing them, he says that I am supposed to jack up the price and I get the balance over the normal price.

I posted this about a month ago. I've been to Pattaya about 15-20 times but had not seen a number of things on this list. It may help you kill some time during the day. I visited Art in Paradise for the first time which is easy to reach just off Second Road. For maximum enjoyment take a girl with you (mine loved it) and download the Art in Paradise app before going. Lots of fun to be had there.
