Hey fellow mangers, I've got a question for Egypt-based fellows. I want to buy a subscription to the forum but was a bit worried about the payment details on my statement (yes I've read the FAQ on this which says it will appear as a donation to an Arganitna-based NGO). But after 9/11 I'm not convinced that such a statement entry will pass unsuspecious. I've a card issued by HSBC and another by CIB, can anyone confirm how did this show on their statements (especially if they've used a card by the same issuer)?

If I can find action while I'm sitting here in what is probably one of the most mongering unfriendly countries in the world, then the guys who keep begging for contacts on this thread can surely find action in Egypt. The problem with this forum is much like the problem in Egypt now. Too many people complaining and asking for hand-outs instead of working at it themselves.

Stop complaining and start posting. Even if all you're going to do is recount an experience, and have no intention of sharing the contact, at least make reading the forum a little more entertaining by posting something other than a query. I'm not directing this at anyone in particular. It's just a general observation.

But seriously, if I can get laid where I am now, there's no excuse for what I've been seeing here lately other than sheer laziness. Hats off to Christopherd, who is not Egyptian, hasn't been living here for years, and is making a solid effort. Wish we had more regulars on here like him.

I don't think it is wise to ask about extra services over the phone!

Went to check out Sheri Nile at the Hilton today. Nice, clean place. Very much a hotel spa vibe. Made an appointment by phone, woman answering assumed correctly I wanted the one hour massage. Price is high. 350 LE. But private room with no window in the door is a plus. Led to room by smoking hot Lebanese blond, somewhat disappointed when plump, older Moroccan lady came in to do the massage.
