Women have more tattoos (in many countries)
The vast majority of the upper tier fitness girls I see in gyms across the United States from Texas to New York seem to have them. I can think of 3 female doctors off the top of my head who have them. I would roughly estimate 15-20 percent of the young nurses I see have them. And I'm seeing this in the upper middle class to upper class women. The numbers must be even more prevalent in the less affluent crowd.
Fitness girls or social media influencers, I would guess derive a large portion of their income from the younger demographics. And so getting tattoos may not hurt their bottom line. RE: Female doctors and young nurses, I would guess that estimate would be harder to derive, since many women might not feel comfortable revealing their tattoos in a professional setting. In the FKKs, we are always seeing the WGs fully or half-naked, and so the tattoos are more noticeable to us. Also, many WGs are from a lower class background where tattoos would be more prevalent, like you said.
In many countries, the percent of tattooed women exceeds the number of tattooed men. 49 percent of Italian women versus 47 percent of Italian men. The disparity is larger in Greece: 42 percent of Greek women versus 29 percent of Greek men.
