Hey folks. Arriving in Bangkok on Sunday afternoon. Staying in Fraser Suits on Soi 11. So will be hanging round the usual haunts, Beergarden, Nana, Cowboy etc. Would be cool to meet up with some guys for a few beers to start my trip off. Not a newbie so you don't have to look after me. Haha.

I'll be making my first trip to BKK in a couple of weeks, and of course will spend a couple days taking in the normal Cowboy and Nana sights, but would love to partake in some of the great places you've found.

The bars give me a great opportunity to look at a large line up of girls naked, check the chemistry, and select a girl that will be a real turn on. Other than long term favourites, its a bit difficult to find girls that look as good in the oilies, and you cannot see the bodies properly either. It costs slightly more than an Oily, but am having some fun. I will often instead go to a soapy when I know I can get a superior looking girl, even though may be costing me.

I prefer lighter skin and just not a fan of the Isaan look. I also find the behavior of the gals in the gogos to be a bit of a turn off. Last thing I want to do is sit and attempt to interact with a gal who finished the Po 6 or 6th grade. Also as my Thai gets better and better, I find their banter amazingly irritating. But, as you said, to each his own.
I like to go, grab a gal, head up, have a nasty 90 min and then leave. I get my interaction with my girlfriend.
A large percentage of the gals in the oilies come from Isaan as well, but from Nakhon Panom where the girls are a bit fairer due to the Lao and I believe a bit of Viet influence.
Given a choice I would always opt for gals from CNX or BKK.
My Long Gun girl was away sick, Doll House girl busy, and Crazy House girl not at work. I liked another girl at Long Gun but she seemed to have a customer already.
For something different I went into Shark today. Its similar to Baccara girls but worse I think. Mostly lighter skin girls. A lot of post-op girls in there that look like ladyboys. Many with strange noses trying to look like Farangs. A lot of girls very plain or ugly to my taste. Some awful boob jobs too. It admittedly was 11PM which is a bit late but only saw about 3 or 4 girls that had acceptable pretty and natural looks. Called one over for a chat with very white skin. She was Isaan girl from Roi Et and claimed it was her very first day so did not know that much. Did not look that special close up but apparently all natural. She had bad breath which put me off pretty quickly.
Nearly went into Cowboy 2 and then realised it must be a Coyote bar. Had a quick look in Rawhide and the talent was total shit so left quickly. It seems there are very limited bars to suit my taste, and quite limited girls in those bars as well. So probably less than 3% of Cowboy girls are too my liking in looks. However of better days I can still find a girl I like. Not today. Arrived too late most likely. I did like the looks of a few girls working front of house at certain bars.
I am not concerned about girls skin colour. Only that they be really pretty and there are few of those. It is getting tough these days being very fussy.
As someone who is arriving soon I'm interested in knowing whether the recent civil unrest is impacting the scene at all. Are the protests compromising any of the working areas or numbers of working girls? Is there any element of danger beyond the normal to be aware of? I'm actually kind of surprised that no one has chimed in on this, although I did see the question earlier I didn't see any response. Anybody have any comments?

No, not at all other than keeping tourists away. High season doesn't feel very high this year and lots of girls I talk to are saying things are tough. Go-go's I visit are generally empty other than a couple of the big ones, beer bars have way more girls than customers and the streets are actually quite walkable. Good time to be here.

Even Bangkok has a beer scene apart from Singha and Leo.
Try Brew Beers & Ciders, on Thong Lor. Not so far from all the oil massage places on Sukhumwit 24 and 24/1, and in the same neighborhood as Tulip. Just a short cab ride away. Great selection.
The Roadhouse in the Silom area has a decent selection. Black Swan, which is a 5 minute walk from Soi Cowboy, has Green King IPA, which is fairly rare for Thailand. HOBS (House of Beers) is another name that comes up a lot, though I haven't tried it yet. There are plenty of options, though the good beers aren't cheap.

You'd have to go way out of your way (an hour or more in typical traffic) to reach the protests, and most of them haven't been violent.

The three main naughty boy hangouts (Walking Street, Soi 6 and Soi LK Metro) are very close to each other. If you're feeling energetic you can easily walk back and forth. If you're not the baht buses are cheap and convenient. There are over a dozen places to choose from on Walking Street and along Soi 6, with almost that many on Soi LK Metro. You can take girls back to your room, to a short time hotel or do the deed on the premises (Soi 6).

I've now been in Thailand for a few days, and have experienced some of what Bangkok has to offer. I skipped the sexytimes for the first day or so, then jumped in with both feet.
