Are there any good alternatives to the gogo bars in Bangkok? Usually when I visit I find somebody in Soi Cowboy or Nana, but I was trying to come up with an alternative source for my next trip. My problem is that I only come for fairly short visits (of about 10 days) once or twice a year, I am quite picky, I really only like very pretty girls, and ideally I am looking for someone who speaks good English, and who would be prepared to do LT rather than ST. A knockout student aged about 21 to 24 with no boyfriend would be ideal! But I guess my age is not exactly in my favour when looking for this type of girl (I am early 50s, but fairly well preserved) , although on the 'positive' side I am willing to pay gogo bar equivalent rates, as long as the price is not astronomical.

I guess what I am talking about is discos, non-girly bars, or perhaps using websites. I appreciate that my requirements are probably similar to most other guys, but if anybody has got any suggestions I would be most grateful.

And yes I have read the forum, but I could not really find the answer to my particular 'problem'!

Asking for the world and wanting it at a good price, seems a little contradictory. I would be tending to recommend Gentlemen clubs like Pegasus or Escorts to get girls that good, but they might be too expensive. Girls that meet your difficult specs may well be closely guarded secrets.

I would suggest you try an excellent English speaker like Bo at Cherry, and see if you get on very well and then see if the girl can do LT outcall or not. Might depend on the chemistry. Annies possibly has some good English speakers, available for LT outcall, but I don't know who they are (English is not a requirement for me).

LT is available still at gogos, so if you find the right girl there, gogos are still a good option. Again I know little about English speaking abilities.

Worth the risk of getting stuck.

Anyone know what the deal is with regular massage places?

I mean more the local ones outside of lower sukhumvit.

First all of a sudden when I'd ask for a thai massage it was like I insulted them.

And they tried to give me a man or a ladyboy instead of a woman.

I thought maybe they were trying to force farangs into getting oily massages.

Seemed like it was some type of a new policy enacted by the owners.

Now a lot of them are removing oil massages from the menu and have replaced them with "aromatherapy", which is often like 400-500 baht, which is a lot at a crappy little place.

Are a lot of them owned by the same people?

I like to get thai massages regularly at lots of different places, and like a nice pretty lady and will sometimes go for extras if the mood is right.

But now that they're trying to hassle me into paying more or threatening to give me men or some old sea hag they found in the basement, I'm going much less

I honestly don't like being lathered with oil that won't come off my skin in the shower and then gets all over my clothes

It reads more like you were drunk at the time IMHO. No one is "forcing" you to take oil or aroma or anything. Do you want a real massage or not? If so, why not choose a more classy place? There is no clue as what place you are referring to. This thread is mostly for mongering advice, but the question about good non-sexual massage places has been raised many times before in this and the General thread.

I guess you are wanting a very sexy hot girl but still claim you want a real massage? Ha Ha! Its possible but ain't so likely. Its likely that you will just be considered to be one big hassle. So even if I know a girl who is both a great masseuse and great for sex, I don't want her to have to put up with you deciding you don't want a full servicing.

I suggest you lose the curiosity about hundreds of shitty massage places and try to choose some good recommended ones. Understand the Mongering shops generally do not appreciate customers that just want a straight massage, also proper Thai Massage places do not appreciate the ladies being molested. You really should decide what it is that you want. You can pay the full all inclusive price (for sex too) and then not take the sex if you want, but you might get a crappy massage. Perhaps someone else will understand your sentiment better and have a great shop to suggest that is undecided if it is legit massage or not.

Chavala Suk Soi 34 is/was a place to get a reasonable massage where molesting the girls is more or less expected but no full sex unless somehow you can manage it without taking the girls shorts off (unless it has changed over the years). I visited this place more than 20 years ago and seems to be still there.

Would have loved to stay longer but was worried about the planned "biggest demonstration ever that will bring BKK to a standstill" supposed to have happened today (Monday 9th). What was the situation like on the ground?

Just to clarify, my post was to some extent intended to be lighthearted, I am not actually expecting to meet a future Miss World with a degree in modern languages, I am simply trying to find out if there are any alternatives to gogo bars, where I might hope to find girls approaching similar quality, and who are prepared to stay LT, and preferably who can speak a bit of English, without it costing me far more than it would in Nana or Soi Cowboy (because obviously that would defeat the object of the exercise) , and bearing in mind the added restriction that I only visit Thailand occasionally and for relatively short stays (typically 10 days each time) , therefore I am not really in a position to spend a great deal of time making and maintaining a network of contacts. I am not really interested in the 'mature' end of the market, neither am I very interested with massage places.

There are nightclubs where a high proportion of hookers hang out, like CM2. I've been away from the scene too long to know the others but a careful reading of this forum will point you toward them. You will likely find some attractive English speakers, although not necessarily any better than, say, the cream of the crop at Rainbow, and not necessarily students. Doing LT should not be a problem, although you should ask first if she's an obvious pro. The really hot ones will want more than gogo equivalent rates. The last one I pulled, a couple of years ago at CM2, cost 6000 Baht although she stayed until I had to kick her out the next afternoon.

Not special oily places.

Now when they see a farang come in they try to force me to get an "aromatherapy" massage when I just want a Thai massage with a female masseuse.

I have been reading this forum intently as I've got my first visit to BKK coming up. I'll have a short layover there. Basically, I'll be free from around 10 am in the morning until around 6 pm in the evening.

From reading many of the posts here, my impression is that most of the bars don't really get hopping until much later in the night.

Is it possible to have any luck visiting these fine establishments during the day from around 10 am until around 6 pm? I have to leave for the airport at 6 pm, so that's the time I have to be finished and on my way to the airport.

What time do these bars usually start hopping? I read this forum plenty far back but didn't see an answer to my question.
