Dubai - Hotel Information

Was at Ramada and had a call in regular. Past many times no one stopped her or checked with the room before entry.

Yesterday was stopped and I was requested to go down to reception to escort her in AND pay 100AED for extra person. No, they do not allow you to charge to the room, it is separate. I was given a receipt as well. Guy said it is new regulation, seems legit.

I did check with the day time manager the next day AM, was told the same, but hassle of going down can be waived if you keep them informed and pay the 100 dhm in advance.

I am not sure if it is a one off, but since I am a regular there, seems like the 100 cover is here to stay.

Having just come back from a short holiday break staying at the Metropolitan Hotel SZR, can confirm this hotel isstill green, however as is common nowadays the girl will need to leave a copy of her passport with reception. The good thing is if you are coming back into the hotel from Rattlesnake, you don't have to actually go upto the reception desk, as the lift attendant (usually a chinese lady will take the passport copy there and then and you can remain hidden from the main reception desk behind if you are that embarrassed). Never had an issues the 4 times i took a girl to the room.

If anyone wants a more detailed report on the actual hotel i have also just posted a more detailed review on Tripadvisor, suffice to say if you can get it for £70 per night which i did, you get what you pay for, however if are considering paying the usual £120 per night, go elsewhere. Should have stuck to my usual favourites Towers Rotana, Jumerira Rotana, or Majestic Hotel.

I was at the Ramada last week and had no issues. I always book the room for two so I dont have to mess about paying if challenged. But I do know the late night door man fairly well so maybe that helps. I wouldnt worry too much.

Yeah, it is really not too much of an issue. But Ramada having been so laid back, thought I should keep all posted.

P.S I think it was just the guy at the reception that day and time.

Hi all! First time to post. I will be in Dubai in June 2012. So I figure I better start asking questions before I book. Does anyone know if the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort is Green?

Yes it is green

2012?? It's green now, but I can't say anything for 20 months from now. You plan your trips a year and a half in advance?

Evening gentlemen

Just wanted to check if any of you have any recent experience with the Majestic. The ramada is 3x the price next week and I dont want to pay 900 if I can avoid it, but after my scares at four points bur dubai with original ID I would like to check.

This hotel is a 5* hotel that locatated on shikzaed road near trade center, price during gitex was about 390 dhms (rate include taz and service charge ) with very nice rooms and breakfast. really very nice price and very clean.
