But on a first session that she has no reason to believe will ever be repeated? No reason for a popular girl for all the usual and obvious reasons to give a local expat a discount simply because he says, "Hey, I'm a local expat, I'm not a tourist, I know the real prices" unless she is desperate enough for a customer and right now. In which case she is not so popular after all and would have agreed to a discount regardless what the dude told her.
Otherwise, the usual drop from 3,000 baht to 2,500 baht or from 2,000 baht to 1,500 baht discount applies to anyone willing to hesitate and not immediately jump on her first quote, same as for everyone else.
The local expat discount primarily comes about because we are not under time pressure to accept whatever right now and be ready for the next one and the next one after that before my flight back home.
I am here 24/7 during high season, low season, bar closures, pre big family holidays, post big family holidays, during every bar girl's kid's birthday, first school day, whenever a popular girl might be motivated to catch that extra 1,500 - 2,000 baht bonus on the way to the mall and so on.
However, if I choose to cruise through Nana Plaza at 9 pm on a Friday night during high season with my goal being to barfine a popular for all the usual and obvious reasons girl for the first time, she will very likely already have seen me cruising through Nana Plaza, probably already have seen me walking out of bars or along Soi 4 with dozens of different girls or multiple times with my lovely young girlfriend over the months or years and she would have no reason whatsoever to give me some mythical local expat discount that night. Not as long as she knows her chances of getting any full price quote customer she targets that night are very, very good anyway.
Nor would she be more inclined to rock my world in bed after having possibly recognized me as a player who has 24/7 access to every pussy in Thailand and not likely to repeat one anyway. As wrong as she might he about that, BTW.

BKK Daters: Watch Your Profile Pics
First time posting in forever this one's mostly for fellow residents.
I've been living in Bangkok for about 5 years now, married with kids, and working a pretty visible job. I regularly date Thai girls, mostly through apps, always regulars. One thing that's been driving me nuts since I got here: some of these girls keep grabbing my profile pics (from Line, WhatsApp, etc.) and posting them in private Thai Facebook groups.
You know the type "Anyone know this guy? "Is he good or bad? "Can I trust him? "Anyone dating him?" that kind of thing. These groups are all in Thai, private, and usually only accessible if you're a Thai woman (or ladyboy). I've managed to sneak into a couple, but apparently there are dozens of them.
As you can imagine, I'm not thrilled about having my photo passed around in groups with 30 k to 80 k members. Once I realized what was happening, I switched to anonymous profile pics but even now, years later, my old ones still pop up occasionally, and yeah. It really pisses me off.
First off, obvious heads up: don't use real photos on Tinder, Thai Friendly, Line, WhatsApp, etc. If you're in a similar situation. If you don't care about thousands of strangers seeing your face and commenting (often unnecessarily), then fine but just know it happens.
Now a few questions for fellow residents and regulars:
Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how did you handle?
Were you able to get access to these groups somehow?
Did you ask to have your photos removed?
Set up any routines to avoid sharing pics that could be reposted?
Reported the groups to Meta?
And out of curiosity. Is anyone aware of similar groups targeting Thai women? I feel like we (farang) are way less digital, organized, or solidaristic to make that kind of behavior a thing but maybe I'm wrong?

But that doesn't mean I can ignore the reality that it is going to be a much greater challenge to swing that with the best lookers and therefore likely most popular girls in a venue than the 2nd and 3rd Tier lookers in the place. That is the term I have used. And that doesn't mean the 2nd and 3rd Tier lookers are ugly. Not if there are at least 5 Tiers overall. LOL.

" They don't hand out those cards the day we sign a 1 year lease on an apartment.
P4 P girls will do that because they have had "time" to know and rely on you as a convenient stop over or place to crash after hours, often when they are too drunk to get home on their own, their girlfriends' place is too crowded and, unfortunately, all too often when they are so tired, sleepy, cranky and fucked out for the night the dude who paid full price at 10 pm got the much better deal.
