Don't you guys think that many of the places we are talking about here are well-known from the authorities? Don't you think that if they really wanted to close these kind of sauna where FS is provided, they would have done it by now?
Don't you think that sauna and sex is a huge business in shanghai, with so much money in it? Don't you think that these kind of places are owned by important people having guanxi enough to run them smoothly?
I am just asking because when I go to a sauna, I can see there so many customers and they don't seem to freak out as much as we do here, as well as the workers there.
When I see that a well known sauna in shanghai where FS is provided, is located right in a shopping center, I feel like how could the authorities not be aware of that?
Yesterday night I went to a massage place which is quite easy to find with lots of lights in one of the biggest street of shanghai, and got a HJ pretty easily and it didn't seem to make the girl feel uncomfortable.
Maybe writing this is just a way to make me feel more comfortable and to try to stop freaking out.

Even places where are very visible, which you assume to have enough "guanxi" to coexist peacefully with law enforcement, would still occasionally run into trouble.

But Shanghai has more than 1 district, and strangely enough, some of the more important roads in Shanghai are being covered by more than one jurisdiction. The word on the street is that they were raided by a different precinct which they thought didn't cover their area. The alternative theory is that the competition paid off the other district to do the raid.
High ranking police officers are often political appointees that could change overnight. So paying once doesn't protect you forever, and it is possible that there are some who won't take the money.
Even places that seem to maintain good relationships with the cops are subject to occasional raids when the cops need to make numbers. One of my favorite ladies quit from 999 because she was almost busted during a unannounced inspection. My client's boss, a Malaysian Chinese, spent 4 days in jail when he was caught during a raid at Southern. (He paid 50,000 RMB to get him out of that cell and make the arrest record disappear)

Agree 100%, the authorities know what's going on everywhere. No need to 'monitor' ISG, laoweis, or any other such things. I actually live here, and you know, for every block, there is usually one (or more) person who 'monitors' what's going on so believe me, LE knows who/what/where. I would be shocked if LE was learning anything new from this forum.
After Applecrate's awesome description of Bodi, I had to try it out. It is everything as described by AC. A couple more points...
1. We drove out to Bodi and parked the car out back. The car was initially parked in the first level of a three level parking structure. When we finished our session, we came back out and was surprised to find the car hanging at the top level of the structure. But, no worries, the attendent pressed a button and cars moved out of the way and the car slowly came back down. It's interesting how these "car elevators" work, and you should check it out sometime!
2. Bodi opens doors at 12:00PM. However, business really begins at around 1:30PM. If you show up around 1:00PM, take a leisurely shower and then head downstairs, you're doing great on time.
3. The place is huge! You go downstairs and get put into a private resting area. After watching a little TV and getting a drink, the manager takes you through a maze of rooms to the staging area where about 40 girls are waiting for you. I had number 591, whose first comment to me when I saw her was... "I'm wet". However, if you are a first-timer, do yourself a favor and don't preselect a number. You won't find anything from 4 years ago in operation. Completely new thinking required on the SH Mongering scene these days. Other than saunas and Manhatten et all, the BBS scene has moved to the outskirts of the city.
The Village is now a rather nice apartment complex, reminiscent of Beverley Hills.
