But Colombians don't think that way. Except in Poblado, mostly around Parque Lleras, there simply aren't enough gringos in Medellin to be noticed. And the Colombians living around Parque Lleras aren't worried that some old, fat gringo is going to lure their estrato 6 wife away from them.

My experience was that I got nothing but polite and friendly from everyone. In a year of walking in all types of areas maybe 5 or 6 times someone gave me a sour look.

If you run into the wrong officer on the wrong day. I suppose so. I never ran into the wrong officer. Some smiled, some waved, only 1 ever hindered me. That was for about 15 seconds while he told me I couldn't drink beer in the park.

If your Airbnb host is telling you that they don't allow sex tourism, you didn't do your homework before renting.

Unfortunately for the MDE, the city & Colombia will forever be linked to Pablo & the cocaine trafficking. Lucky guy. I am not a frequent visitor to Lleras, despite the fact that I travel to MDE once a month. But not longer ago I was "pulled over" (I was actually on foot) by the cops at about 5 in the afternoon. I was with a working girl who is also a friend. And her mom. And the cops hassled all of us big time. The guy kept saying "respect the park. " All we did was have a late lunch and then wait for her mom to finish work so they could go back to their barrio. Cops seems to be getting worse in MDE. At least in some areas.

From mid July last year until late January this year I was in or through Parque Lleras at least 10 times a week. Almost every night plus frequent daytime visits. The beer incident was very close to Christmas. A buddy and I bought beers and sat down in the park to people watch. Cop came over and said we couldn't drink in the park, so we crossed the street and sat down on Calle 38, 30 feet away.

I don't know why I was never hassled. Especially since I spent so much time in places where gringos don't go. Must be my after shave.

Not surprisingly, the folks who run ISG couldn't even take a second to answer my question. Meanwhile, those same folks have the nerve to say in the paragraph near the top of this website:

"Those same freedom-loving individuals who are from the US and affected by this might also consider talking to your local Representatives and Senators and letting them know you're pissed about the state of interference in your life these days."

So this website can't be bothered to answer a simple little question directed to them, while meanwhile, I'm supposed to stick my neck out and contact my legislators on behalf of ISG? Yeah, that's not happening. In life, one hand washes the other.

Good fortune or maybe it was because who you were with. I have noticed that 2 or more gringos have not gotten hassled. My problem came when I was with the chica and her mom. And the only other time anyone said anything to me was when I was walking around Lleras alone. The assumption must have been that I was looking for putas, which I was actually not (I would likely never pull a chica from Lleras).

That said, I have never been stopped by policy anywhere else. And I have frequented Popular, Aranjuez, Manrique, and Laureles. Even when a taxi has been pulled over (twice), they focused on the girls in the car and left me alone.

The closest I have gotten to Colombian police in 4 trips was when our cab got stopped at a check point around 1 am coming back from FaseII. I was thinking "uh-oh. " he talked to the cabbie, asked him who was in the back, he said "foreigners" and they waved us on.

The link given doesn't work for me. I did a search, and found this, though it's from 2013:

I am surprised to see the Men to Women ratio as almost 1:1, but I think that is very very misleading.

(1) Many of its male users are gay (approx. 20% of the website traffic). This may explain why even though the website has a 1 to 1 male to female ratio, as a hetero-sexual sugar daddy, I am enjoying a higher female to male ratio.

(2) Men can also sign up as Sugar Babies. And many of the sugar babies are in fact men seeking Sugar Mommies.

So while the number of men and women using the website may seem equal, the sugar daddy in search of a female sugar baby is still likely enjoying the much higher female to male ratio.
