I just ignore because very little actual information. Perhaps some opinion about how to operate buried in there somewhere but I like more logical stuff than psychedelic, or subtle situation comedy stuff like Nic Frenchy used to write.

We just have to learn to ignore stuff of no use, particularly the very negative posters who just dump shit on everyone.

last time i was in bkk was around 2008. i just did the rounds a couple nights ago for first time since then. nana has always been my main spot, with cowboy as plan b.

in brief, nana right now is not what it was. there are a few spots where bars were (big ones even) that are now vacant. the number of katoey bars seems to be up. i remember one thing i used to do was stand near (or in) big dog at 2am closing time to watch everyone exit, which was a steady flow of crowd for something like 20-30 minutes, lots of girls exiting on their way home. and of course katoeys out in front (they patrol the entrance all evening) and others from those bars exiting too. last night it had to be 80% katoeys exiting at 2am. i guess the way it works is that girls get taken as the night goes on so there's not as many of them still in the bars by 2am, while i guess it doens't work that way in the fewer katoey bars that are in there. whatever, that was definitely not the place to be to make a late-stage pickup. the lineup across the street at the nana hotel car park was terrible last night. again, nothing like when i was there last time when there were dozens available there at 2am.

thermae was lousy, not really worth visiting. it didn't have the japanese-domination that i've seen in the past, but also not really anything i was tempted by in terms of girls.

soi cowboy, i have to say, is better than ever, as far as i could tell. seemed like quite a few bars that were well stocked with talent. as opposed to nana which had just a couple bars that i could find that had good selection and seemed happening (rainbow 4 and mandarin upstairs). at cowboy, my first stop was baccara. girls there seemed just as good as rainbow 4, a few 8s and 9s. i didn't see a 10 all night, i have to say, in any place. otherwise, rawhide was pretty amazing. girls there are overall almost as good as the previous 2, definitely a step up from the average place in terms of looks, but these girls really put their heart into the dancing, and if you have one sit with you and get her a drink, well, it can get mighty cozy. i never experienced that in a non-diddling bar. i'm not sure what the deal is there though because my girl didn't once pose the question of go-to-hotel, yet was all over me and eager, made me take her phone number after i paid to go. i'm wondering if policy there is that they can't be barfined, it seemed odd that she never offered. if it is, well, it seems as if they're plenty content with going with the customer outside working hours, so i guess that can be ok. just a little inconvenient. another question: what type of bar is crocodile dundee? is it just a normal go-go or is it more in the after school category? hard to tell and i was too tired by then to go try it.

so nana was a big disappointment i have to say. rainbow was no where close to as good as it has been in the past (to my eyes). it also wasn't packed with customers as i've seen it before. did not see a single drop-dead gorgeous girl there. lots in the 8 category but nothing that seemed like an obvious one to go for. rawhide was a big revelation, nice to find something new and interesting like that.

ah i had a good expreience at after school once years ago, got dragged in by a girl who was young and hot, a solid 9, who almost immediately started french-kissing to get me in the mood. but peeked in there last night and there was nothing close to enticing, which i guess is to be expected at that type of bar.

another thing i noticed was some girls in go-go outfits moving from one bar to another, and i believe they were exiting midnight and headed toward spice girls. would that be right? it looked like they were staffing both places, being moved from one to the other.

so that was my one night in bangkok. didn't close the deal on anything but more of a reconnaissance night.

Another change I forgot to mention was the area of Sukhumvit where it's all black African girls. Weird. They aren't my cup of tea, I have to say, but how strange to see that. When I used to go to BKK more often, you would just see them down on soi 3, and not as many. And now there's katoeys pretty much everywhere in abundance. But way too many down at Nana, both on Sukhumvit there and in the soi, and more and more the later it got. A bit much really. Honestly it looks like what is happening is that Nana is on its way to turning into the katoey bar area, and Cowboy will be the straight one. It's getting so dominated by katoeys down there that it will be driving a lot of straight customers away, it's just too much now. They're everywhere, and everywhere you go at Soi Nana at 1am-2am.

Typicaly lower Sukhumvit in the daytime had no black African P4P workers the other day, & several TGs. Including a cute busty DD in a school girl type of outfit.
