If anybody can recommend a few cheap and cheerful massage locations for me to try, it'd be much appreciated.

I'm specifically wanting to know of places that don't brand themselves as "VIP" (since those are easily found on Google and I'm not particularly bothered about all the sauna and bath stuff.).

I don't mind going to the grotty kind of venues that are just a bunch of beds separated only by curtains. Provided the girls are suitably young and cute, the ambiance doesn't really matter to me.

Has Hanoi evolved over time concerning our hobby?

It's been some years since I was in Hanoi, but at the time the choice of young girls helping us out was rather limited compared to HCMC.

What I realize however looking at Gaigo is the fact that the girls seem cheaper than down south and also I prefer the moderate climate to the hot and steamy HCMC in the current season.

I have not been to Hanoi for ten years or so and my old regular hotel the Heart appears to have closed and it also seems that Fortuna is not what it once was.

Heart hotel was amazing. If I did not bring my own back they would send up a selection.

I get the impression that the smaller 'boutique' hotels in the Old Quarter are GF if the guest has their VN ID. Probably under US $50 as is the deal in Saigon. Can someone confirm this?

Almost all hotels in Hanoi, 4-star and lower, are girls friendly. They also rent out rooms by the hour, so most will not bother checking IDs. 5-star hotels like the New World have different guest policies. Some are very strict, some will not let you bring in guests after 9 PM ect.

I stayed at La Mejor Hotel & Skybar near Ta Hien Beer street. Hundreds of young people and lots of Euro girls hang out, drinking, partying every night.

Are there any quality spas with "special extras" in the Old Quarter in Hanoi?

Also, it is not worth it, you are better off to go to Thailand. A lot of viets on Soi 4 that charges less than 50 USD. You can get 2 hours for the same cost in a better equipped MP that you get here for one hour.

I went to two Massage Nuru Vip locations.

They gave me a price list. See attachment 1 - 1 million dong plus, etc.

Place #1. 688 Ngoc Lam, Massage VIP.

Place #2. 249 Duong Lam Du.
