If you don't want to spend the big bucks and don't want a lot of transfers then take the Swagman Fly by Bus... which has recently had the fare increased to 600 pesos. A metered taxi to Swagman should cost about 200 pesos, depending on traffic. I think Swagman will pick you up for 250 pesos if you don't intend to stay at their hotel, and they pick you up free if you do stay there at least one night.

I stayed at the Corona and talked to a guy out front who had a car -- not a taxi. He seemed like a nice guy and his card is from the hotel.

Also, in the past few weeks I rode both Swagman and Southern Cross buses. The Swagman bus wasn't as bad as last time (2006 - chunks out of tire, stalled in the middle of a MNL intersection) but was still far inferior to the S. Cross bus. The S. Cross crew were friendlier than the Swag people, especially the "hostess" (Josie) who had hair down to her waist and had me wishing for some quality time on the back seat.

Advantage for Swag is they do the run three times a day.

note: heavy rain causes mnl traffic gridlock because of flooded streets and who knows what other reasons. S. Cross bus arrived late, eventually departed Mnl at 4:30 (rather than scheduled 3:30) and then 90 min stuck in Mnl traffic before getting on the highway.

I remember that infront of Mandarin Hotel Makati you can get cars with drivers on a 3 hours quotation....I needed their services long time ago and even I pass Mandarin evry one or two weeks Im not update with the current fees, but its for those who wana have some business apointments/meetings and dont want to show off with a cab infront of their clients, neither like to go to some deserted areas in Manila where its quite diff to get a cab..also who dont like water as much as the fish do, cause we have rainy seasons here...:D

This aint an option to get to AC, at least not for small money, but its an option for those who fed up with cabs, dont like to rent a car and drive for themself , dont need a car for the whole day, just hourly wise..

Blink you get no flames here. I said what you said on another forum a while back. Guys complaining they are getting priced out of the market in PI. Give me a fucking break. The place is dirt cheap. You guys need to check out Dubai where a "wham bam no thank you mam" will cost you about $100. Why I said "no thank you mam?" Because in Dubai most of time once they fuck you they are out the fucking door not all cuddy like in PI. In PI you get your money worth trust me :)
