Well the GF/partner has now returned home and there was with nothing much to do. Earlier this week was planning to catch up with a fellow monger who had PM me asking about Filipinas and was in Abu Dhabi for a short time. I will be in Abu Dhabi for a day in December. I have booked into Crowne Plaza after reading in this forum that it is GF. Also picked up from the forum that Gauloises is the best spot for CIS stuff. 2635, Gauloises is OK for high priced CIS. The quantity and quality of CIS in Abu Dhabi does not compare with Dubai, in my experience.

I suggest you start at 49ers but before you go upstairs to that venue check the small bar by the elevators ... sometimes good quality (or not) CIS are lurking. You also find a few CIS upstairs at 49ers, worth checking.

My recomendation however is try Chinese, or at least keep your mind open to it. They abound and they generally are honest and keep their end of the deal. You'll also find some 8-9 Africans in 49ers -- very exotic, but be cautious because they often don't do what they say they will do.

After you catch one, if you want one more beer, the pub in the lower level of the Crowne Plaza is nice. Mostly Brits with GFs ... a few Africans but in the 4-6 range.
