Yes I agree with you about Manado (north celebes) and the gals, most of them are even still influenced with Dutch culture, Manadonese call their aunty with "Tante" (Dutch word)...

Was in Senggigi and beside Friday & Saturday nights @ Marina Cafe no visible options. Whole Place is very much downbeat and I would not recommend this place if you just want party + fun as it turns more in a family holiday area

Slim pickings in here re the above. I am spending 1 night there in about 10 days. Does anyone have any new information? which area to stay in, to be able to meet some girls. FL bars would be best, if at all possible. Also any suggestions for a GF hotel?

There's not much here on ISG to report on Yogyakarta, sorry. The most useful post here is Post #160 by Gamma Ray 007, posted 4/20/2007, which includes a useful photo of the Corona brothel (best place in town in my limited experience) and the Gang 3 alley. I had a quick two-girl session at the Gang 3 alley, definitely a "low end of the mongering spectrum" destination.

Also, read Post #216 by Brenno, posted March 2, 2008, Post #221 by Lachrymologist and the several subsequent posts about the "salon" scene by Syphon, Post #233 by Kittycat (May 7, 2008 #233) and more recent posts by Kt Lover & Trafford. I don't know anything about the salon scene or the university girls, but there are several large universities in Yogyakarta, so you should have some good luck here.

I was in Yogyakarta twice in 2008 and stayed at the Grand Mercure hotel both times. Definitely girl-friendly, as was the Melia Purosani where I stayed just before the earthquake a couple of years ago.

Note: I tried out the in-house massage place next to the pool at the Grand Mercure, it was strictly a professional massage-only set-up, no extras even hinted at, with a mid-40ish masseuse. Maybe extras are available if the masseuse comes to your room, don't know.

Most of the taxi drivers or 'beca' men would be able to take you to the university girls. They would take you right to their hostels (kos).

During my last short trip there most of my friends went straight to the hostels and took the girls back to their hotel rooms. The girls were all young and willing.

During the 3 days I spent in Manado, I visited all the places listed in the forum I. E. Score, Ha-ha, GP Club, Corner. They were not really happening even on Fri. , Sat nights. The captains I talked too mentioned it was too early after Ramadan (the 1st week), and although Manado is mostly Christian many were out of town or something like that.

Interestingly, every time I met a particularly pretty girl in Jakarta moreoften than not they were from Manado, and I even manged to correctly guess if someone was from there to strike a conversation; o)

Since I didn't score at at any of these place, I decided to revisit the place in a few weeks time. On this one I had a female companion who joined me to visit Makassar and Sulawesi. Our tour guide in Manado said he'd managed to introduce some very good looking girls to foreigners and even businessmen from Jakarta. Asked me to call him on my next visit. (If you want the number, I'll foward it to forum members)

The cute small blue buses they have on the streets of Mando as public transport are surprisingly favourable in the number of young college chicks they carry, they seem available and my ISG sense is instructing me to return.

By the way, both Ritzy hotel and GP have stewardesses staying at them, so GP Club could still be on the list especially if you arrive by latest flight of Merpati and have reached agreement to have a drink with someone you'd met on the plane.

I visited Makassar on the same trip, stayed at the Gapura hotel ($65) which 3 mins walk to Colours club. On the first night there was a group of 4-5 girls sitting next to our table at the open sea-facing restaurant at Gapura. They were 8-9s, and we exchanged meaningfull gazes, but presence of my girl did't allow taking any more proactive measures. ; o)

Seems Sulawesi is worth a second visit and we need more ISG members to develop the scene, right now it's too far from saturation.

Did your friends report how much they paid the University girls they got out of their hostels in Yogyakarta? And how did they go about it on their own? Just stroll the hallways smiling in doors and seeing who responded?

I was in Ambon on business recently. Before I went, I did a search of the forum, but couldn't find anything, so here's a bit of info for anyone heading that way.

There's a middle sized red light district on the edge of town at a place called 'Tanjung Batu Merah'. I've never been to Dolly, but I imagine this is pretty similar - maybe the girls even come straight from there, most of them were from East Java, with a sprinkling of Bugis and Ambonese in the crowd. There aren't any regular taxis in town, but there are ojeg bikes that will run you out there for Rp 10 - 15,000.

It's quite a fun place, lotta cheap little bars and karaoke joints, a big roulette type game in the street. It felt totally safe to me, and not even any minor hassles, not even many touts or 'hello misters'.

The quality of the girls is mixed - about 70% are in the 'no way' category; another 20% would be ok after a few drinks, and the last 10% are quite ok. And there are a few standouts at every bar.

Walked into one place and joined a table of girls screeching and shrieking and playing cards. Absolutely the cutest girl of the evening was 22 year old 'arek Malang' who gave herself the somewhat unlikely name of 'Diana'. I bought her a bir hitam and a cold Bintang for myself, and we went upstairs to the karaoke lounge, where she belted out some tunes - you know, the type you here on long distance buses and on PELNI boats. But she had a nice voice, and she was fun to chat with.

Down to business. A local friend told me that prices ranged from Rp50,000 - 150,000 for ST. I asked Dianan what she wanted, and she said Rp150k, so I agreed without trying to negotiate.

Her room was basic but OK - a fan, a water cooler, a TV and DVD, mattress on the floor, lurid posters on the wall. OK, not like the Shang, but colourful and friendly. Kinda like Diana, actually. She was into kissing and licking, and did an ok BBJ to get things going. She preferred to use a condom, which I was happy with. No rush, and she would have let me have two pops if I wanted, but I was happy enough after one, so I just told her to bring in another couple of beers and I hung out with her for another 20 minutes or so. I gave her Rp 200K, just for her attitude and demeanor, and in recognition of the nice firm tits which survived the removal of her bra admirably.

So, a good fun place, if you pick through and look for something worthwhile.

There are also Karaoke ++ places in town, which I didn't visit. Maybe they would be more suitable if you found Batu Merah a bit down market, although I can't say.

Don't expect anyone to speak more than a few words of English. I asked Diana if she'd ever had foreign customers before, and she said, Only Korean sailors.

The town itself is comfortable enough, although the best hotels are two to three star - but well run, with efficient and friendly staff. Alcohol is freely available, with all the Christians in town. Food is good basic Indonesian food. The fish is particularly good.

All in all, enough in town to keep you entertained for about a week ...
